i'm beth troutman. we found the best videos online and the stories behind them. let's get started "right this minute." it's the car chase that puts all other car chases to shame. a cop knows the driver does not want to be stopped. but did the driver know what was at the end of this street? >> where this tornado is -- >> a woman captures tv tornado warnings. >> as a tornado is bearing down near her home. >> what she saw when she finally
9:01 am
looked outside. two guys go gorilla spotting and run into a jealous dad. >> eventually dad says no. too close. >> see the drama when they try to high tail it out of there. what happens when a guy gets a little too excited by a woman? >> shamelessly loses control. >> the video that finally proves it. we're going to get things started today with some dash-cam footage of a police chase through ice and snow. we got this story from kcci in des moines. this chase actually happened outside of marshalltown, iowa. the dash-cam from the patrol vehicle. when the video first picks up you see a chevy cobalt speed past. the officer sees the person doesn't want to stop.
9:02 am
>> on icy roads. this isn't hispanic we've seen before. >> at speeds of 80 to 90 miles an hour. the driver of the cobalt doesn't let his foot up. >> i'm surprised they would pursue him putting that person and themself in danger on the road conditions. >> the driver had a passenger in the car. keep watching as the cobalt approaches a key intersection. oh, my gosh. did they go down an embankment? reports say they went down about 25 feet. when the crash ended, fisher, the driver, actually fled the scene. both were apprehended and both were taken into custody. as you can imagine they face several charges stemming from the incident. >> what did the passenger do? she was just in the car. >> it turns out they have extensive criminal records. >> any injuries? >> the cars were incredibly damaged, nearly totalled.
9:03 am
luckily the officer was not injed. the person t iam running away from him. >> i totally see what you're saying. it's almost one of those things, where do you make the call. >> seems like poor judgment. use spike sticks. somehow pursue them at a distance. this was going to definitely end it. you guys know those emergency alert signals we hear on our televisions that have signals? this is what it's like when those emergency alerts aren't attached. this woman is shooting her television in madisonville, kentucky, as a tornado is bearing down near her home. she's watching the weather report. she turns around and walks right outside to see the tornado forming just like you see on tv. emergency tones start. the worst nose ever. >> ever. >> you see a lot of lightning.
9:04 am
you hear the hail start to patter down around her. >> one between madisonville right now. >> she's on the phone with her friend. the skies are just getting darker and darker and darker. >> in this case seems to be safe. luckily the tornado skipped over her. this is in a nearby town of elizabethtown, kentucky, which is just to the west of where bunny case was shooting. several homs destroyed, roofs ripped off the top, cars strewn about. it's pretty unusual to have tornadoes in the southeast near kentucky in the surrounding areas because it will usually start until around april. this is a really early storm. it caught a lot of people off-guard. >> the damage is so incredibly random. can you have a house blown away like this one here. the next-door neighbor's house is fine. >> this is in china. what you're seeing is a woman
9:05 am
attempting to jump off a bridge. but notice what is in her arms. >> she's holding a baby. >> she is holding her child which seems to still be an infant. you can see she's trying to step over the ledge. she's a little hesitant. commuters that were on this bridge saw this, immediately called the police. you see a motorcycle cop pull up. he manages to grab her and pull her over, even as he's trying to save her, look what she does with her feet. >> hooks them onto the rail. >> she hooks them onto the railing so he can't pull her. she seems to be very determined in accomplishing her goal. >> i'm so glad she kept hold of that baby instead of letting it go. >> it's amazing. >> as he's struggling with her, people around them notice what's going on and they start rushing over to help. you see some people trying to hold her. the woman finally comes up and takes the child so they can pull her off onto the bridge.
9:06 am
>> what was going on in her life that made her think this is what i'm going to do. >> she was taken into the police station for questioning. police did say that family problems caused her suicide attempt. >> heartbreaking if this was, in fact, a suicide attempt that she would choose to take her child with her. >> i've never understood that when somebody kills their children and themselves. why do they feel like the child needs to go too. >> if she were really determined she was have left the bridge. she puts one foot down as if she was testing the water. >> fortunately this story has a relatively happy ending. i'll be honest, the first time i saw this next video, pretty sure my heart rate shot through the roof. let's go to the national park in the democratic republic of congo where two guys decide to go out with some guys and go gorilla spotting. this video was put together by grain media.
9:07 am
we're getting some great pictures here. but look at what they come across. >> it's a gorilla. >> not only one gorilla, it's an entire family of gorillas. you're going ah. i told you my heart rate went through the roof, beth. >> you could have been so excited because it's a family of gorillas. >> dad, mom, a baby. >> they are awfully close. >> they are real close. baby doing acrobatics. eventually dad says no. you guys are too close. >> beth troutman is officially gripping the desk. the video is nine minutes long. i watched the entire thing like this. they start retreating. >> scared. >> one guy is whispering don't be scared. don't be scared. we're only 2 feet away from a

giant gorilla that can kill you at the drop of a hat. eventually the guys say we better retreat and they get to what looks like a safe distance. can you see the big gorilla is still spying on them. it doesn't end there. after spying on them for a while, that's when the gorilla says, i've had it. how do we get out of here? that's when they start high tailing it. >> that gorilla showed great restraint. >> to see this entire stressful video, head to our website. betty white doing it for the reptiles. >> who thinks of that in perfect. >> see their surprising starring role. this guy is looking at breaking a record or sort of
