several shootings including deadly accidents that led to a car crash in oakland. >> reporter: good morning dave, it has been an all too familiar situation. children up in the hospital in oakland. it happened just before 6:30 monday evening police responded to a call of shots fired in east oakland. once arriving at the 8600 block of bancroft avenue they found several cars involved in an accident. the car had been shot about a block and a half away as he tried to get away his car crashed into multiple vehicles including this vehicle which had a mother two children and another adult inside. >> we believe they were attempting to make a turn and were struck head-on by the

victim's vehicle. >> reporter: now firefighters had to get the jaws of life to remove the people inside that monte carlo. they were taken to the hospital and two children were transported with minor injuries and the driver the bentley was taken to the hospital where he later died. luckily in this situation the two children did not die but last year three children died as a result of shootings in oakland. a lot of people are outraged, and we will stay on top of this situation as it develops. police responded to a shooting in west oakland. two people were injured in the attack at 14th and peralta. officers left the scene of another shooting near the intersection of bancroft where one man was shot in the chest. we have no update on his condition. police are still trying to determine if that final

shooting of the night is connected to the earlier gun violence. police found this man here, on 48th avenue. the young victim refused to answer any questions about how he was wounded. he is being treated at hyland hospital. happening right now, republican presidential candidate rick santorum is speaking to a pro israel lobbying group in washington d.c. there he is right there, three of the four republican candidates will address the public affairs committee. rick santorum will be followed by newt gingrich who will speak to them via satellite. the pools are now open holding super tuesday primaries caucuses coming up at 6:15 we will have a live report for

. a high wind advisory on the venetia bay, san mateo and dumbarton bridges, make sure you drive safely this morning. let's head back to the desk. two americans saved a man from this burning car. he reportedly was swerving to avoid hitting a dog on the avenue. he ended up smashing into a tree and then his car burst into flames. a witness says the man was frantically trying to get out of that burning car when two people ran up to help. luckily nobody was hurt. what tornado survivors are trying to clean up and move on, but they sure have a lot of work ahead of them.

firefighters are saying, here is more. this is a possible marijuana growingp 0 racing, -- operation, this one is across the street and it was discovered after a fire broke out. firefighters were inside, they knocked down those flames and that's when they found equipment used to grow marijuana plants. nobody was hurt at the time either. at this point they are not even show if anybody listed this house. right now police are waiting for an investigator to come secure the scene. they will go and take over the scene. they will do a full investigation into a possible marijuana growing operation. live in pinole ktvu channel 2 morning news. a new carpool lane may have to pay a rip it up or move it.
