bridges this morning. 6:01 let's head back to the desk. we have a story we first told you about and we just learned that water has been shut off located at sharon park and a few people there walking through the area, this is a live picture from the scene of the break. the water-main broke just before 3:00 a.m. this morning. crews say, look at how it left earlier, water is gushing from the pipe at a rate of 3,000 gallons per minute. some areas have been shut down. >> we don't know where it is at, at this point, they are shutting some of the areas that lead into it to alleviate the water coming into it and hopefully they can find exactly where the break is. >> crews tell us people in the area are waking up to little or

no water pressure. traffic in the area was also blocked off where the exact location of the break was located. people are finding a temporary place to live after a morning fire in oakland. it happened there at this house on elmhurst avenue. firefighters are telling us several people got out safely but we hear reports that the family's small dog may have been trapped and did not get out but that has not been confirmed yet. they say the fire started in the back of the house but out cause of it has not been determined. it has now been three days since a morgan hill teen has disappeared on her way to school. allie rasmus is there in morgan hill where crews have found new clues in a field. >> reporter: they found the ming teen's cell phone in a field a few miles from home.

sierra lamar was last seen on friday, supposedly to make it to school and by friday evening, they started looking for her. her family lives in a rural area of morgan hill. it was near the side of the road and appeared to have been tossed from a car because there were no other crews or personal belongings found near that. her mother said this is not something she would do and she was very close to her sister and did not tell her sister about any plans to meet up with a boyfriend or anything else. >> my gut feeling is something is not right. she would not intentionally leave us in limbo and leave us worrying about her. something is not normal about the situation. it does not make sense.

>> reporter: friends and family has posted fliers and they will turn to the teen's friends. she attended two high schools in the last couple of years and is enrolled at morgan hill but last year she was a freshman in fremont so they plan to go to both to talk. it is sentencing day for sheriff ross mirkarimi, he is planning on taking a plea deal one week after the domestic violence charges. lorraine blanco is here to tell us what we can expect in court this morning. sheriff ross mirkarimi expected a plea deal accepting a lesser charge of false imprisonment. the sheriff initially faced

25 years old. they were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and one spoke in a low voice. they are claiming to have killed an american teacher because he tried to convert them to christianity. the school where he worked denies he was trying to convert anybody. he highly respected islam. he had been living there with his wife and two children. charges are expected against the american soldier accused in a massacre of a began civilians. as allison burns reports, the family issued a statement about this tragedy, allison? >> reporter: the family members of staff sergeant robert bails say they are stunned in the face of the tragedy but stand beside him. he is in an isolated cell at the prison while some of his friends are talking to the

the junior senior high school. you can see what it looked like before and despite all of that dama gebody is seriously hurt in the storm. officials are, woulding on a long term plan to get students back into the classroom. back here at home, a man accused of sexually assaulting and killing away area girl in the 1970s is due to appear in court today. police arrested 63-year-old curtis tucker earlier this month for the killing in 1974. investigators say dna evidence found on the girl's clothing were found. he has previous arrested for sexual assault and burglary. if you are a book lover in berkeley, the main public library is scheduled to open this morning following a weekend fire. it started in the bathroom.

with their stockholders, a lot of money. thank you for joining you, i am -- thank you for joining us, i am dave clark. crews have been out there trying to fix a broken water main and on sharon park drive, paul chambers has been out there for hours and he says the crews finally turned the water off, right paul? >> reporter: that is so true, they were able to successfully stop it and the break which is a 16-inch pipe which runs underneath the ground, we need to take a look at some video, crews say it could be a stress ground movement that caused the rupture. when we arrived at 4:00 this morning it was still flowing at 25 gallons per minute.

firefighters say they used almost half that when they were bat ago fire. at this time, people have little to no water pressure. crews had to battle for three hours and there are four valves that would have made it easier to shut it sooner but it was just too hard to get to them. >> we couldn't get the valves to we had to get the areas to be shut off so i had to go to the third section to bring us out 15 valves to get the shut down. >> reporter: once it starts getting light outside, another crew will be out here cleaning up the water coming out all morning. then the initial valves will be turned on the hope is to have the water restored in the next

shootings. somebody shot and wounded three men. two days later, three other men were wounded on 7th and addison. nobody has been arrested in either case.$♪ now tonight's meeting is at 7:00 at the berkeley youth alternative gym at olson way. a woman believed to have been killed, they did not turn up any clues. police believe martha gutierrez was shot and killed by her son iraq war veteran, who killed his sister and then himself. it appears to be one of oklahoma's first tornadoes of the season. we have not heard of any reports of damage and this is what storm chasers found for us. in nebraska, at least two

tornadoes damaged homes and railed some train cars. and firefighters almost contained winds field grass fire one that destroyed two homes in the town of he cannily. and it was evacuated after flames quickly spread. firefighters are hoping to get a better idea of how much damage was caused today. two people died on california ski slopes over the weekend. he died after going head first, north of fresno at the sierra tahoe resupreme court. it was create by an under flow of water and in kirkwood, another skier was taken to the hospital but there is no word on his condition.

just a couple of hours, san francisco sheriff will be sentenced. sheriff ross mirkarimi agreed to a lesser charge saying he wanted to end the worry for his department and family. the domestic violence charges ended with a bruise on his arm. they raised doubts about his guilty plea because of remarks outside the courtroom. the d.a. says the comments are okay under the law and it is actually quite common. >> this has been part of his background and he has not been a prosecutor.
