and mission streets. you can see one lane is blocked off and this one line of vehicles stretches down. it is only one black we are talking about. that is the warning, you are going to want to avoid this area. let's talk about the repairs started last night. there is a sewerage problem started from last night. at had point it is still unclear what type of problem they are dealing with what kind of leak what kind of spill but they know they will be out here through the morning and that these repairs could take a couple of days. it's not affecting businesses in terms of their ability or utilities right now but this is simply an issue they will need. they are basically telling me

. time is running out with a gunman suspected of a killing spree. police announced if the 24-year- old suspect does not come out soon, they will storm the apartment building. this is a live picture in france, where the standoff has been going on for quite some time. earlier the suspect wounded three officers in a gun battle.

he has a number of weapons, we also found out he is a french national with ties to al qaeda. he is accused of killing three separate people including a rabbi and three children at a jewish school. they have detained his mother, his brother and a friend for questioning. victims of that school shooting were laid to rest. this is video of the cemetery in jerusalem. hundreds of people attended and many more mourners were there even though they didn't personally know the victims. president barack obama will leave the white house in about 10 minutes from now for a two day western tour and he is calling it the energy tour. he is just as worried about high gasoline prices as you are, allison? >> reporter: with the price of

thank you for joining us on ktvu channel 2 morning news, middle of the week march 21st i am dave clark. >> thank you for joining us, it is now 6:30. >> crews are cleaning up 2 water-main breaks. the most recent happened at 3:00 a.m. at 7th addisonian berkeley. that followed a bigger one in emoryville. paul chambers has been out there, he is back live, how is it going, what are they doing, paul? >> well i got a closer look, take a look, the water is spewing and it looks a lot closer than what it is. crews are working in the hole and i got a closer look in that hole. the bursting of the pipe caused that and it is about 4 feet deep. you can see earlier this morning, things were out of control. now pools of standing water near hollis and emoryville caused the gas station to be

temporarily shut down as it floods at the parking lot making its route across the roadway. officers were out here helping to direct traffic at its worst, several hundreds of gallons were gushing per minute and the call came in 1:30 this morning and crews were able to get a handle on the situation within an hour. they have only 10% of water going out right now. the water did not cause major damage and crews will be out here cleaning up. back here live, they say that water is coming out 20 gallons per minute and they are working in that situation. i tell you, i got a lot closer and the piping in that area looks old so that is what they are trying to deal with to determine what caused it as it gets light out here. the roadway here on who'll has

is -- hollas is shut between there, it looks a lot worse than what it is. basically they have everything under control and they are determining the source of that water-main break and of course we will stay out here and be on top all morning long. ktvu channel 2 morning news paul chambers. it started at 3:00 a.m. this morning 7th and addison is shut down as crews continue to clean up the mess. a dispute with a roommate may have led to an overnight shooting in oakland. one man was shot inside his apartment which was shortly before 11:30 last night. he managed to run before collapsing in the front of a home. paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he underwent surgery. investigators said an argument

led up to the violence but the roommate was not on the scene so they were not able to question him. missing mother sierra lamar delivered a very emotional message to her daughter. >> i hope you can hear me, i want you back, i want you back. >> as you can see she cried during this candle light vigil, several people were there showing support. 15-year-old sierra lamar disappeared wile on her way to school. police say her cell phone was found at a nearby field but so far there are no leads in this case. >> there are a lot of unconfirmed sightings in this area and nothing has helped out so far. >> investigators are checking up on registered sex offenders in the area.

francisco, a sewerage repair project is affecting traffic this morning. ktvu channel 2 morning news reports why crews say the commutes could get better soon, here is more claudine wong. >> reporter: you can see they have trucks and their crews and as traffic moves through, it is being affected a little slower this morning but they say they are hoping to get this lane back open for traffic in the next 45 minutes which has certainly helped. they have been testing sewerage efforts and they are confident since it has been contained enough, even though repairs still need to be done. routine maintenance still shut down the pipe, it is actually pretty complicated, crews had to be called in from monterey and divers went into the 36-

inch pipe. head to go about 1,000 yards in to try to put a seal on the leak but the shut down is still in place. >> we had to shut down that section as divers were doing the repair. we already brought it back up to a reasonable level where it's not leaking anymore. we will pull out the lanes of traffic and pull out more working. >> right here the truck, what they will do is basically wash down the roadway and they will try to get it back open to traffic. this is a major pipeline that trans ports sewerage from the northeast part of the city which trans ports 80 percent in each direction. so we are talking about a major pipeline. they dan get the rest of it done until tonight so hopefully the next 45 minutes they will get this lane open for the rest
