the freeway after a crash involving three cars. one man in his 60s was killed. one other person was seriously injured. it's not clear happen lead up to the deadly crash. investigators say there is no sign alcohol was a factor. at 4:30 we are looking at a live picture of highway 4. this is westbound highway 4. no major issues here. as a matter of fact, it's a nice looking drive coming all the way up to the willow pass grade. and this is a look at northbound 101 in san francisco. it looks good approaching the 80 split. let's go back to pam. a man is behind bars facing five coups of murder. tara moriarty is outside the san francisco home where police continue to guard the crime scene. tara. >> reporter: neighbors around here are breathing a sigh of relief a suspect has been caught. there is still crime scene tape up that stretches the entire city block here. there is also flowers that sit in front of the home and a patrol car that guards the

crime scene. police arrested 35-year-old binh thai luc. they believe he is responsible for the brutal killing of five people. the chief says 40 investigators have been working around the clock on little sleep to try to solve the killings. they do believe it's an isolated case. >> we do have information we are following up there could be prior gang ties involved in this situation. >> reporter: investigators won't say what lead them to luc but he did know all five victims it is believed it includes a man and wife both immigrants from china and the couples daughter and son and the son's girlfriend. an edged weapon was used in the

unbelievable. the pentagon says sergeant bales wondered off his military base and killed nine afghan children and eight adults. outrage continues to grow over the shooting death of an unarmed florida teenager. thousands have called rallies calling for justice for trayvon martin. cooling up in ten minutes how martin's family is responding to the outpouring of support and the local event that is taking place today. one person is dead after a stabbing in san francisco. that happened sometime after 10:00 last night. now the brother of the victim said the man was stabbed while visiting relatives. two people were taken into custody. including one person who may be a juvenile. it's not clear what lead up to that shooting. starting tomorrow the class kids foundation will begin searching for missing teenager sierra lamar. the organization named for

bringing his fundraising efforts here to the bay area. this afternoon he will appear at an event in redwood city. and tomorrow he heads to stockton for a fundraising breakfast. protestors will also be at today's event to welcome the candidate. they include people from groups such as occupy redwood city and the raging grannies. rick santorum is also heading here to the bay area. he won 49% of the vote in and ten of louisiana's 20 delegates. the states remaining five delegates will remap uncommitted until the convention. on thursday a fundraiser for santorum will be hill at a private home in alamo. a costco and concord will be open this morning. but that is after a potentially deadly leak shut down the store for several hours. the leak caused a cloud in the wac of the store on monument

boulevard. that was about 11:30 yesterday morning. shoppers and employees were evacuated. hazardous materials team was called in. the leaking gas was a dangerous refrigerant. the store was ventilated and reopened five minutes later and no one was hurt. let's check in with sal this morning. it could be a little windy out there. >> yeah. all the bay area spans could be effected. even if there is no wind advisory. i want to let you know that driving around the bay could be a little bit tough if you drive a high profile vehicle. that would be a pickup truck with a camper shell. something like that. or an rv. let's take a welcome at the commute now. traffic is moving along pretty well on north and southbound 880. this traffic is still moving nicely now. the side benefit of having wind is that the visibility is good. and right now we have good visibility around the bay area for driving. not a lot of fog.

we will have an increase in clouds. so today inbetween storms we will be on the cool side. and here it is here quite a bit of moisture. we could see anywhere from an inch of rain to north bay anywhere from 2-3 inches of rain by wednesday. here we are in the afternoon. notice we've got the soft sunlight. tomorrow morning the north bay could be a tricky commute. could have drizzle along the coastline. a few light sprinkles falling over the bay. by the evening time all of us are dealing with slick roads. by late tuesday night, wednesday morning we are tapering off to scattered showers. it looks like the wednesday morning commute could be a little treacherous before we dry out on wednesday amp. in a nutshell chilly morning. dry and cool for the afternoon. 50s and low 60s in the forecast for your afternoon. 58 for san francisco.

by the public support they have received. they are calling for justice in their son's death. last night a vigil was there for the -- >> we really thank them and appreciate the support. it means a lot to us. this really hit home. >> neighborhood watch volunteer george zimmerman shot and killed martin but claims it was in self-defense. hyenas not been arrest -- he has not been arrested. there will be a rally today for martin right here in the bay area. organizers are calling it an emergency scream out for justice. they say sometimes speaking is just not enough. the noontime event will be held outside san francisco's hall of justice. church's across the country honored trayvon martin with hoody's on sunday. they were asked to wear hooded sweatshirts.

the pastor also delivered his sermon if a hooded sweatshirt. civil rights activist including reverend jesse jackson have become spokesmen and friends for the martin family. foster city police are investigating the shooting of a san mateo man during a reported break in. police were called to a home on crane avenue near goal avenue at 4:30 yesterday morning. investigators found a 24-year- old man with gunshot wounds and they say he had been shot by a house guest. the shooting victim was taken to the hospital. at this point neither man has been arrested. a san jose man is accused of firing a bb gun at police. he was arrested saturday morning at a home on snow berry court. police were called by family members that said he had a gun and threatening to kill them. he pulled out the gun and fired at officers. one officer returned fire. no one was hurt.

iraqi woman brutally beaten in her san diego county home has died and her family believes it was a hate crime. she was taken off of a life support over the weekend. she was found unconscious in her elle coo hone home on wednesday. it wasn't the first note the family had received. >> a week ago they left a letter saying this is our country. not yours, you terrorist. so my mom ignored that thinking kids playing around and pranking. the day they hit her, you know, they left it again. and it said the same thing. >> she was a mother of five who immigrated to the u.s. with her family nearly 20 years ago. her body is being flown to iraq for funeral. so far investigators have not

named any suspects. time now 4:47. president obama is in south korea right now for the opening of a two-day summit on nuclear security. world leaders from 50 countries are gathering in seoul. now the goal of the meeting is to top the spread of nuclear weapons. ahead of the summit president obama spoke to students at a university in seoul. the president said the u.s. with the help of allies has made the world safer from a nuclear threat. >> here in seoul, more than 50 nations will mark our progress toward the goal we set at the summit i hosted two years ago in washington. securing the world's vulnerable nuclear materials in four years so they never fall in the hands of terrorists. >> while at the summit, president obama is also having side meetings with world leaders such as this one with the president of china. president obama urged the

president to push north korea to meet its international obligations. in just a few hours pope benedict will begin his historic trip to cuba. he is scheduled to arrive on the island at 8:00 west coast time. the pope will celebrate an outdoor mass later today. the pope spent this weekend appearing before huge crowds in mexico. it's going to be much sunnier in southern california today after a storm pounded the region yesterday. businesses actually shut down in the san gabriel valley because of flooding. tens of thousands of customers were left without power for several hours. things are starting to get back to normal. another storm in the bay area brought snow to the highest bay area hills including mount hamilton. many thought it would be fun to play in the snow but they were

welcome back to the ktvu channel 2 morning news. they are not your typical wedding crashers. a couple was getting married at a town hall on friday. when ken elizabeth and prince phillip dropped in on them. they were there on lunch. they spent five minutes talking and taking pictures with the newlyweds after the ceremony. >> we didn't know. it was basically a wedding gift for us. >> amazing wedding gift. we were like gosh. [ laughter ]
