many questions remain after the killing of five people in a bay area home. what's being said today about the weapon and the man arrested. good afternoon. and thank you for joining us. i'm maureen naylor. tori campbell is off today. we first reported his arrest during yesterday's 5:00 newscast. today, ktvu's allie rasmus is live outside the crime scene about what police have revealed about the weapon used.

good afternoon. >> reporter: well, ma rhine, police have not recovered the weapon yet but they believe the weapon used was some sort of sharp object. the crime scene is still roped off and there has been an officer posted on guard at the house 24 hours a day and people are still coming to leave flowers and cards where the five people were killed. the man accused of this is binh thai luc. he's being held in jail in a special isolation unit. a spokesperson for the police department said she cannot say why he's being held in a special identificationlation unit -- special identification unit. based on what police and neighbors have told us, all of the victims were from the same

family, the four of them, and then the fifth person was the son's girlfriend. police say this is not a random attack. neighbors are still on edge. >> i don't know if i'm in fear. i don't think that living in sphere gonna get anything done. >> reporter: a district attorney spokesperson said luc could be arraigned on the five murder charges as early as tomorrow. luc's brother has been arrested as well but he's not been charged. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, allie. a volunteer search failed to turn up any new evidence for sierra lamar's disappearance. she disappeared ten days ago now. so far police have turned up hundreds of tips but none them have turned out to be credible.

hotel. purk the event is -- hotel. the event is being hosted by meg whitman. rick santorum won 49% of the vote and half of louisiana '20 delegates. romney garnered 2% of the vote and five delegates. a bay area fund-raiser will be held on thursday at a private home. tickets for that event range from $125 to $2500. >> there's more outrage across the -- there's more outrage over the shooting of trayvon martin. a lot of people showed up for a rally led by jesse jackson and al sharpton. members of the aclu attended. the 17-year-old was shot a month ago today by george zimmerman. he said he was acting in self-

defense and his lawyer denies any racial motivation for the shooting. a total screamout here is set to support this hour to show support for the slain teenager. christien kafton is live with more. >> reporter: that screamout now underway. organizers started showing up just about a half an hour ago. they pinged the hall -- picked the hall of justice. they say that they are also complacent when it comes to the death of young men of color. they say they are holding this emergency screamout for justice, calling for justice calling for -- calling for justice for trayvon martin. they are wearing hoodies, what trayvon martin was wearing when he was shot. even though he was shot 2500 miles away, they say, hess story resonates resonates --

pleasanton. it happened shortly before 9:00 lat night on highway 68 -- last night on highway 680. the chp says one car ended up off the freeway after the crash involving three vehicles. a man in his 60s was killed and at least one other person was seriously injured. it's still not clear what led up to the dead a -- deadly crash but investigators say there is no sign that alcohol was a factor. caltrans are cleaning up a mess that closed two lanes on the approach to the dumbarton bridge. no one was hurt. the paseo padre onramp remains closed. crews are still trying to get the truck upright and clean up the mess. the ramp should be opened in about an hour and a half from now, it's reported. if we ever get deployed, it would be nice to see a real-

francisco. this just into the ktvu newsroom. the medical examiner has just released the names and ages of the victims in the mass killings. they are hua hun, lei. the victims include a couple of in their 60s, their two adult children and their son's girlfriend. we are we're continuing to work every angle of this story and will have much more coming up at 5:00. one person is dead after a stabbing in san francisco. it happened sometime after 10:00 lat night at buchanan and geg avenue. the brother of the victim said the man was stabbed while visiting relatives. two people were taken into custody last night. it's not clear whacketly what led up to the shooting. a rave is coming to oakland

county, carpool extensions on 880 between oakland and san leandro and extensions from milpitas to san jose. the interstate 280, 880 interchange next to valley fair and i-508 in the livermore valley are feting -- are getting fund. also some major transit projects are about to get started. groundbreaking is set for next month. along the state highway bond money, $900 million has been committed to the job. the project is expected to be completed by 2016. union activists have hired in the bay area for the construction project here. they claim the project relies heavily on parts in china.
