magnitude of his murdering rage. >> reporter: one l. goh is charged with shooting 10 people, killing seven of them at oikos university, and charged with killing one of them in the parking lot. the district attorney will look at considering the death penalty after reviewing the case with a special committee. >> and at that point in time, following a preliminary hearing, the decision on whether or not we'll seek death in this case will be made. >> reporter: police said that one l. goh is cooperating with investigators. they say he felt mistreated by the school and wanted his money back. police have not found a handgun. >> we're still processing the scene and finished some of the materials discovered -- >> reporter: one l. goh is held without bail. the judge ordered him not to try to contact any of the shooting victims who survived the attack. reporting live, rob roth, ktvu. and stories are coming out about the lives lost after the shooting. doris tabuko was a mother and

lawyer and had dreams of becoming a nurse. her husband says he sees his wife in their daughters' faces every time he looks at them. >> she was the best thing that happened to my life. you know, so -- i always loved her from the first time i saw her, so. >> he met his wife in college and married. they got married in nigeria 10 years ago. he says he plans to take his wife back home to nigeria to bury her. and one of the seven victims was a woman from tibet who had moved to the united states from india. she was studying nursing, was known for volunteering and had been a teacher back in india. and the university's nursing director believed to be the intended target says she is lucky to be alive. but also extremely devastated by what happened. ktvu's alex savage now is live in piedmont where he talked with friends of the woman, with the incidents and the suspected gunman. >> reporter: and i was not able

to talk directly to the school administrator today. but i did talk to a friend and roommate who says the woman is just crushed by what happened. the nursing program director at oikos university was not on campus on monday, because she was teaching off site that day. this is a photo from facebook of the school administrator who believes she was the intended target in monday's shooting ram page. ellen cervellon says the suspected gunman, one l. goh, dropped out of oikos university last fall and was upset about not being given a full tuition refund. her friend, linda music, says that ellen cervellon is in a lot of pain right now. >> very much in shock, she was very, very close to her students and her secretary, kathy was like a daughter to her, so -- she is devastated. she is devastated. >> reporter: her friend says that ellen cervellon had felt bothered by one l. goh before, but never felt direct threats. >> she had said there was somebody there that just kind of, kind of made her feel

funny, you know kind of scared her a little bit? >> reporter: meanwhile we're learning more about the school itself where this deadly shooting rampage took place. the department of consumer affairs says that oikos university nursing program is in danger of losing accredidation because only 41% of the graduates passed last year. in addition there are reports about a lawsuit against the college, filed by a former student who says she is owed back pay and claims to have loaned the school $10,000. i talked with the representative from the department of consumer affairs by phone today. >> and you know we'll certainly investigate it. so far you know we have not had any complaints that there is financial liability questions. >> reporter: i did try today to reach the director of oikos university for a comment, but did not hear back. a note on the school's website says that classes will be cancelled until further notice. we're live, piedmont, alex savage ktvu news. and the authorities today showed the special equipment

they're using to try to find the gun used in the shooting rampage. the alameda county sheriff's department gave us an exclusive tour of the boat searching along the park. the scanner uses sound waves to map the bottom of the estuary. >> if we found something, we could track it on the laptop, and then from there we could send divers to further investigate it. >> the dive teams also joined the search, but so far they have not found anything. i want to show you here what the picture looks like from the under water camera. you can see that the water is very dark and muddy. a man who witnessed the shootings, providing new information about just what happened. 23-year-old brian snow was at a nearby credit union with his aunt when he says he heard and saw the tragedy unfold. >> we dropped to the ground, a lady came out, yelling she was shot in the arm. and when what happened i started to -- that happened i realized how deeply, deeply

serious the situation was. >> snow is a student who attends the community college in dublin and says he saw a number of people stumble out of oikos university. >> and the coverage of the university shootings continue on ktvu.com. just look under the school shooting tab for more reports and the latest developments. and a pedestrian struck by a bike rider last week in san francisco died. police say 71-year-old was crossing market street at castro in the crosswalk when he was struck by a biker last thursday morning. the witnesses told ktvu at the time that the biker was going fast, and may have run a red light. authorities say the accident is still under investigation. some san jose residents back in their homes tonight after a dangerous accident forced an evacuation. emergency repairs were under way this morning after a suspected drunk driver took out

a gas line at a home at about 10:00 last night. the driver is now behind bars. half a dozen homes were evacuated overnight because the damage was extensive. >> people who have not even moved into the house next door will have a big surprise, you know when they try to move in. >> all the families who were evacuated returned early this morning. and teachers and students are picking up the pieces in oakser dam, following a raid by the federal agents. live from oakland with the ironic lesson that students got today, when she got a look in the classrooms. >> well, the sign on the front door here says that the school is still working on a plan and juggling classes, because their files were taken the schools had trouble reaching their students. and as a result today's first class back since the raid was half empty. >> both of them are very hard to prove. >> reporter: ktvu got exclusive access to the first class taught at the university.

it was a legal class on raid training. one student who asked us not to show his face donated a plant in the name of education, saying federal agents wiped out the school's lab. >> i took it upon myself to bring it here. >> reporter: activists clashed with federal agents during the week's raid. investigators also took files and financial records. oakser dam founder richard lee declined to speak on camera, on the advice of his lawyer. but employers say that oakser dam will fight on, activists believe that it was a political move, targeting the marijuana growers. >> they seemed to be targeting lee. >> they are protecting people, like maybe one of those potential officers could have stopped just one of those deaths at the school. you know at the time when this happened several people died in the city. >> where are our priorities? while our civic leaders are screaming for gun control,

they're begging for help with gun violence. and our federal agents are going about attacking the marijuana growers. >> reporter: they say they can't comment on this criminal investigation. also we're just learning late this afternoon that founder richard lee will announce tomorrow that he will take a back seat in the wake of this week's raid. live, oakland, ktvu channel 2 action news. and a well known silicon valley business person landing funding for a new on line university. 36-year-old ben nelson is the former ceo of the photo sharing website, snap fish. he has planned for a university that received 25 million in seed money this week from the park venture capital firm. he says it will offer the world's greatest education. the first class is expected to enreally in -- enroll in the fall of 2014.

and a homeless shelter could enroll downtown. they are identifying the areas where the shelters have a right to open as long as certain conditions are met. the city council approved an area spanning 200 acres. some business owners say they are not in favor of that decision. the city planners say there are no plans to create a new shelter. in the city of pleasant hill it is struggling with the same issue, focusing on the limited industrial zone seen on this map. it is -- as it is designated area for the potential future homeless shelters. the city council says the meeting will be set for june 12 for people to make opinions heard. and caltrans says that the deaths declined to 2700 in 2010, far fewer than the 5500 deaths in 1987. caltrans says that it funded 80 safety projects last year, such as improving signal timing

and realigning roads. the agency says it is slow for the cone zone program has helped to reduce deaths. and an internal investigation showing the half billion federal loan given to fremont based solyndra was rushedded. according to the report, a last minute review was completed in about a day. apparently the experts had concerns but it is not clear if they were addressed by the energy department. the department had already decided to approve the loan to the solar power company which later failed. and getting word today that a french yacht team dropped out of the summer races leading up to the cup. san francisco mayor ed lee says it is not a concern. >> there were still teams yet to be announced that are under serious consideration about joining. so i think we still have set ourselves up for good success here. >> the ac world series is a separate event from the america's cup race itself.

march 16. and civil rights leaders rallied to talk about civil rights efforts against african- americans. trayvon martin who was shot in central florida was at issue. the chairman of the naacp says it is time to get guns off the streets. it comes after the death of martin luther king, jr. in 1968. >> members of the occupy movement marched in sacramento today for a protest. they are calling to an end to clear cut. they say it destroys wildlife habitat. the california forestry association says that clear cut has economic benefits, reducing the need to bring timber from other states. and announced prison sentences today for an manteca father and daughter.

74-year-old was sentenced to 24 months in prison, his daughter to 20 months. the pair admitted lying as the sec investigated their san ramon start up base, tci. and cutting 2000 jobs as part of a restructuring plan. the employees at the sunnyvale plant wouldn't talk to us today. but the layoff accounts for about 20% of the work force. but one spokesperson says it could be only the beginning. >> it is like pulling off a band aid fast, or slow, they're doing the slow painful part and it just doesn't end well with the company. >> the head hunters say that the laid off yahoo! workers will be a commodity. and that silicon valley is experiencing a hiring boom right now. in his memo to staff, the chief executive officer says the out come of the changes will be a smaller, more profitable

yahoo!, better equipped to help the customers as fast as the industry will require. thompson thanked those leaving for their contributions to the company. and san francisco giant with big plans. ktvu david stevenson has more on the questions raised as the team announces a massive re- development project. >> reporter: well, julia, the officials say they're teaming up for what they're calling one of the largest economic development programs in san francisco history. as fans file into the exhibition park for the game, they laid out plans on the park. >> we're coming forward like we do at the ballpark, to make sure this is something that could fit in the character of the city. >> reporter: it is a 27-acre development called mission rock, including parking lot a, and pier 48, just south of the park. they own the rights to developing the land and opposes

funding on the bay side park. there is a thousand housing units, restaurants and retail space. >> there is literally 6900 permanent jobs that will be on this site when it is fully built. >> reporter: the city hopes to receive 10 million yearly in tax revenue, but others are struggling financially. >> we think it is a period of turnover, as opposed to a real ditch. >> i think it looks great. looks like it has -- >> i like that. really nice. >> nice, grassy area to come out and hang out before a game. >> reporter: some giants fans love the idea, others worry that there could be the end of tailgating. >> you make your own food, there is a lot of people that can't afford all the other food too, you know what i'm saying. >> reporter: the giants hope to begin the development in 2015. the plant still faces environmental reviews and input

the north bay, right now, showers, and a few drifting over head. if you looked outside and saw the cloud build-ups that is a sign we have instability route there. and current temperatures and wind speeds ramping up, 18 in concord. all the way up to 32, actually san francisco's observation. so a sustained wind of 32 miles per hour. here is a look at the frost advisory we have been talking about, beginning thursday morning at 3:00. for the north bay valleys. overnight lows down to near 30 degrees. if you want to keep the plants warm, the animals warm, take a look at the forecasted lows. napa, san francisco, 33, san jose in the upper 30s at 39, the set-up. unsettled weather to the north, showers out there tonight, mostly clear, numbers, 30s, 40s, high pressure begins to return for tomorrow, so as a result this will set the stage for a warming trend as we head into the weekend. still gusty winds returning to

the forecast around 20-30 miles per hour. here is a change, we'll take it into thursday, you will notice this. this particular forecast, trying to generate a few sprinkles, very isolated. this is for tomorrow, so tomorrow morning at 8:00, favoring the santa cruz mountains, and then once again into the afternoon hours. i'm watching this one cell that is developing, moving in from napa county, down towards contra costa county for tomorrow afternoon, and slight showers, temperatures tomorrow, cooler, only in the 50s to right at 60 degrees. so after the chilly start it means cool, breezy into the afternoon hours, san jose, right at 60, redwood city, 59 degrees, and here is a look ahead, the five-day forecast. more sunshine into your friday, we're going to warm things up into saturday. here is another change by the weekend, with the weekend always in view, and fortunately for easter sunday, some of the forecast models hinting at shower chances in the east bay.

athletic. and looking at the last exhibition game, and the real deal. >> thank goodness, i think the giants definitely had their minds elsewhere out at at&t, thinking about the opener friday. some kids out there, pretty did weather out there at at&t, but the a's full of serious business in particular. third baseman josh donaldson, hitting a 3-run shot and a two- run homer. and the a's cruise to an easy victory against the giants, taking one of three in the bay bridge area. and giants, rookie catcher sanchez making the team, as the only backup. brandon belt, will be the giants' starting baseman, and chris stewart, a backup catcher last year, traded to new york. and they were asked by joe fonzi how it feels to make the roster out of training camp. >> it feels like last september, i had a big smile on my face and a good time playing, got over at third base

over there. so yeah, it is a great feeling. >> if you think the baseball fans are pumped up, golf fans can talk nothing else but the masters golf, starting this weekend. every year they have a nice event with some old timers, like arnie, and jack, they bring young people out, some of the children of the players. they have pretty good swings going. somebody came out of the audience to nail a putt, and that she did. they had a lot of rain at augusta. and it will be pretty soft going come tomorrow for the opener. -- so the predictions anyway at this point are that there will be a lot of low scores and everybody of course will watch mr. woods. that is the sporting life at this hour. >> that is pretty neat, bringing the little kid out there. >> oh yeah, yeah, they don't call him the gallery, but they call them the patrons at the masters. >> getting everybody into it.
