with new information and condition on the victim. >> reporter: a tow truck driver came by and loaded the victim's vehicle. as you can see the victim was airlifted in critical condition and he is undergoing emergency surgery because of the location of his wounds. you can see the victim being airlifted. the shooting happened at 3:00 a.m. at th and virginia. investigators are trying to if he can out what went town 5 the shooting. they discovered the crime when they heard the shooting on their spotter system. they heard it and the shots direct them to the scene. police are hoping somebody will come forward with more information. reporting live in richmond,

lorraine blanco ktvu channel 2 morning news. oikos university will reopen monday three weeks after a gunman killed seven people on campus. the news is reporting some of the classes will be held in the very same building where the shooting happened. nursing students may be allowed to take classes at another campus. students are being given options to take laces elsewhere. several have been expelled all because of a reported attendants scam. they are accused of altering attendance records after paying off several other students who obtained the computer's password. changes were made between october and january. however school officials only found out about it earlier this

month. the suspensions we are told will last between one and five days and can be up to a year. secret service agents are out of a job because of a scandal in columbia. coming up, one of the women in the scandals are now speaking out about what happened. the big day has finally arrived. like it or not 49ers are breaking ground on the new stadium, we have explosive video of the preparation for today's party, alex? >> reporter: well, today city leaders are getting ready to celebrate as they take part in groundbreaking for the new 49ers stadium. the billion dollar stadium is going upright next to this. we put touches on the mini stadium and it comes after

years of planning this event. critics tried to block this project worried about the burden to taxpayers but in 2010, they approved the project and they will dig into a ceremonial spot that will become the 50-yard line. >> there is a logo and that's literally where we'll be -- where, we will be kicking off in a few years. we could not be happier it is happening right here in santa clara. >> reporter: under the 40 year lease deal, they will pay santa clara stadium $40 million a year and that's expected to be completed by 2014. there is even talk about bringing the super bowl here ones it is done. 1,500 are invited to be there

to break up a big demonstration. police arrested more than 15 san francisco employees for blocking city streets. now about 1,000 union members took over market streets during rush hour last night. they are angry about new contract talks that include higher wage cuts. mayor ed lee said they are facing a $100 million deficit over two years and labor unions have to give something back. >> it's important we come out here because the city is trying to balance the budget on our backs. >> now it comes as the mayor and other top city officials is man dating. he says he will not take a pay raise and is asking for them to do the same.

a 20-year-old man was shot to death on central avenue in the city's centreville neighborhood two weeks ago. detectives are still searching for the killer. they believe one man spotted at the crime scene may have some important information. he is described as white, driving a 2002 silver mustang and the car had a large fin in the back. once again, this man is considered a witness, not a suspect. testimony will resume in oracle's trademark lawsuit against google. larry page appeared uncomfortable during his time on the witness stand yesterday. he remembers not seeing it and one of those documents was an e- mail from him where he will testify today. that e-mail showed google knew it did not have the rights to

they are celebrating their ipo. price last night $17 a share and of course it takes a little while to open up a brand-new stock but it doesn't trade right away but spunk is going public today. ktvu channel 2 morning news, it is thursday, april 19thth, i am dave clark, time now 6:30. we are following overnight news coming in from richmond, searching for suspects in an early morning shooting and the victim was found at south 7th and virginia streets. this was shortly after 3:00 this morning. there is the car. emergency crews got there within minutes. they airlifted the victim to the hospital and he is in critical condition and having emergency surgery right now. oakland police are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a man who was

pushing his one-year-old down the street in a toy car. it happened yesterday afternoon broad daylight near the corner and the child was not hurt at all. somebody grabbed the child and took the child to safety. the man was shot in the head and he died at the scene. the gunman escaped in a car. he will try to remove dennis herrera. sheriff ross mirkarimi offered comments about what he says led to his guilty plea and false imprisonment. sheriff ross mirkarimi said a horrible car rel started between he and his wife on the way to a restaurant. they turned the minivan around because he didn't want to argue in public. he also tried to get out of the

. welcome back, good morning to you, here is a look at some of the top stories, police are searching for suspects in an early morning shooting. a man was found slumped behind the wheel of an suv and he was in that car that you are seeing right there. he is now in critical condition. oikos university will reopen monday three weeks after seven people were killed by a gunman. nurses students will be allowed to take classes at another east bay campus and today is a historic day for 49ers fans. the team is now breaking ground in santa clara. ktvu channel 2 morning news was given this exclusive video of this historic site which is right next to the amusement park. a problem with the metering lights on the bay bridge is causing frustration for a lot of drivers and tara moriarty is

there now, you are out there so what went wrong? >> reporter: well, basically the metering lights are not being controlled by the computer but they are being controlled manually. where they are is located after the toll plaza up here on the left-hand side. what happened was monday carpoolers ran into a delay. there is usually no traffic in carpool lanes but this week carpool lanes were on for the very first time they can remember and it added on time for their commute. it controls the lights and they are working and workers are actually manually controlling the lights and we did speak to the man and he said everything is working seamlessly and he seemed to think there would not be any problems whatsoever. so that is the good news.
