you can see the low clouds working their way in. 51-55 covers the spread. still a south, southwest breeze. even after the low clouds burned off. kind of breezy. the system will slowly work its way off. normally we will see drier air spill in here. low clouds and fog. it's kind of that misty, drizzly morning. it will be a little warmer. highs in the 50s, 60s coast and bay. here is sal. steve, good morning. san francisco police are investigating a hit and run between a mustang and a taxi cab. this picture shows it. it happen at 2:15 this morning. the mustang t-boned a cab. it knocked out a stoplight. police did find a bottle of alcohol in that car which may

lead them to conclude it may have been a dui accident. let's take a look at highway 101 as you drive down to the interchange. this morning if you are driving to the bay bridge. could i get clapping here? thank you. we have our bay bridge camera back. this is awesome. so we will be showing this to you all morning long. let's go back to the desk. in the east bay someone set fire to the home with three people inside. they are all okay but the person responsible has not been caught. alex savidge joins us now from the scene which is near hayward with what witnesses saw. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, to you pam. firefighters say neighbors saw a man with a gas can on the front pour of of this home. he hopped into a waiting suv and sped off.

three people were inside that home including a 60-year-old vietnam vet who is a double amputee. he is being treated this morning for smoke inhalation at the hospital. two other people inside both of them care givers they both jumped out of side windows to escape the fire. firefighters also rescued three kittens from inside the house. there were scary moments for the people inside. >> i heard pop like that. i heard a big pop and then i saw flames. >> and then what did you do? >> reacted. >> how did you react? >> with water and a bucket. just started trying to put it out. >> reporter: the alameda county sheriffs office investigating this fire as the case of arson. no arrests so far. this morning the motive for the fire unclear. the people that live here have no idea why they would be

targeted. it was a couple months back that i covered two other fires at this strip mall. it's just across the street. both of the fires at this trip mall considered arson. that was a few months back. we put in a call to the fire department trying to figure out if investigators may be looking at a connection between these fires. live this morning alex savidge ktvu channel 2 news. in san jose a fire destroy one home and damaged another next door. that happened on topaz way. the fire started in the garage of a two-story home. five people and four guests escaped safely but one was treated for smoke inhalation. the home is a total loss. the red cross is helping those find a place to stay. san jose police are getting ready for what many fear could

be another rowdy cinco de mayo celebration. this year it falls on a sat. there are concerns the recent spike in gang violence and the huge crowds could add up to trouble. they plan cover the area with extra patrols. five teenage girls were arrested after a fight on an alameda county campus. that is the same school attended by the senior that was stabbed to death last week. wednesday's fight involved 15- 16-year-old girls. it stemmed from an argument over a boy. fortunately no one was seriously hurt. police and school officials say there is no connection between the fight and the death.

the suspect in the killing was arraigned on tuesday. 4:34. 100 former professional football players have added their names to a lawsuit against the nfl. how they claim the league put them in danger. it's a story you will only see on two. some say squatters have taken over another home. neighbors tell us they recognize the people and the cars from one of our earl reports. neighbors add they also see the same dog. >> they have broken into the home. they have taken over the place. they have forged a document saying they have the right to be there. how do they have a right? >> the house is on mead street. it will be sold at a

foreclosure auction later this month. we knocked on to the door to get a comment but no one answered. one man is expected to face felony charges for throwing bricks and pipes off the roof of that billing to the street below. one person suffer minor injuries when the brick hit him in his nose. at least four other protestors will be charged with demeanor trespassing for the church billing take over. it has been a bad week for a manager of a mission district clothing store. first violent demonstrator smashed store windows. then weston wear received a citation about the graffiti. the department of public works now admits that was a bad move. more than a dozen suspected

gang members are in jail after a series of raids across the bay. three agents were injured if in one of the raids in petaluma. footage shows predawn preparations as agents launched operation red tidings. a suspect opened fire on agents with an assault rifle as they burst into the garage of a home on mcneil avenue. authorities say yesterday's reads are the culmination of an 18 month long investigation following a triple homicide in san francisco. four of the suspects picked up in the gang sweep are charged with murder in connection with these killings. if convicted they could face the death penalty. most of the suspects are scheduled to make their first appearance in federal court today. it is 4:37 in in less than an hour the labor department

will announce the aprils jobs report. it will say employers created between 150 and 185,000 new jobs last month. that would be better than the 120,000 jobs created in march. but it's unlikely be enough to lower the unemployment rate. right now the jobless rate stands at 8.2%. facebook has set its price range for the social offering. they plan to sale shares between $28-$35 each. that is more than originally thought. and if stocks sales for the high enof that range it will raise $12 billion. there are reports that facebook will start selling shares on may 18th. scott thompson earned a bachelor degree in computer science. now it says he has an

the palo alto police department is hosting the annual gun buy back program tomorrow. this is video from last year. the department will hand out $100 for the first 150 guns returned. here is information on that buy back it's being held in the parking lot of city hall between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.. pepsi teaming up with an iconic spokesman. they have signed a deal with michael jackson's estate to feature an image of him in their new ads. consumers will have a chance to buy special edition jackson merchandise and can down load remixes of his hits. you might have seen it overhead. scientists are using a blimp to search for pieces of meteorite. they are trying to find signs
