rescreened. he didn't say what the breach was. it was serious enough for them to get everyone out and send homeland security department in sweep the terminal and get back into normal operations. he did say there were only a couple flights going out in that time. it will not be delays for everyone. terminal one and two were not effected by this. we are looking at marin county southbound 101 traffic looks good. now back to the desk. time now 6:02. san jose police are getting ready for what many fear could be another rowdy cinco de mayo celebration. this year it falls on a saturday. tara moriarty is joining us live. she is in san jose. what are you hearing down there? >> reporter: well the pack it's on a saturday that could spell trouble for san jose police. they plan on being out in full force right here. this is the main spot where

people come to cruise their cars and party. police are concerned about traffic and pedestrians. there have been plenty of problems with cinco de mayo in the past. the parade and festival were canceled of 2010 but clubs and bars continue to draw people. the gang task force is concerned about a recent spike in fang violence -- in gang violence. one week ago a 1-year-old boy was beaten to death and -- a 14- year-old boy was beaten to death by a gang. so police are going to step it up. now officers that will blanket the area especially spots

around the bars. they will try to prevent rebillers. the big concern here is the potential for gang violence and these huge crowds. that can spell disaster. live from san jose i'm tara moriarty. the search is under way for a man that set a house on fire with three people inside. alameda county firefighters were called to the home at 9:40 last night. they rescued a double amputee vietnam veteran. his two care givers managed to escape through the windows. now a criminal investigation is under way after witnesses report seeing a man douse the home's porch with gasoline. >> we have multiple reports of a black male about 6'2" carrying a gas can in the

neighborhood. neighbors sow him on the porch of this home. >> the meetive is unclear. the victim don't know why they would be targeted. east bay private school is set to close its doors in june but now it's at risk of closing earlier. claudine wong is live with the fight over windrush school. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, pam. what a roller coaster ride this has been for the families here at windrush school. and it's unclear if they will make it to the of the year. the bottle is between wind rush and wells fargo and it has gone back infought. this went to bankruptcy court when they defaulted on payments. then in january wells fargo

investigating a hang gliding flight instructor after one of her students died. investigators are searching for a video of the flight which they say the instructor may have swallowed. investigators say the memory card is still inside his digestive track. >> there have been a series of x-rays taken. we have confirmed so we are just in the waiting process here. >> authorities want to recover that memory card. now orders is due in court for a bail hearing. new unemployment numbers relesioned shows less hiring by employers than expected. alison burns is in our washington d.c. area. >> reporter: the unemployment rate did take down a bit. unemployment rate for april is

8.1%. that is down from 8.2% the day before. 115,000 jobs were added to the economy. that is fewer than what economists were looking for. the increases were in manufacturing, retail, health care, lee sure and hospitality. economists are predicting the unemployment rate will likely keep dropping and below 8% before election day. a lot of that could mean that more people have just given up looking for work and we'll have more on that for you during my next update in about an hour. for now we are live in washington, d.c.. testimony continues in north carolina for john edwards. yesterday another former aid recalled the efforts to conceal edwards' affair with rielle

16 reported incidents of her leaving foster care and she running away. 6:17. palo alto police searching for a man that called in three bomb threats on monday. coffee shop on middlefield road received the first call at 5:30 in the morning. the second bomb threat was made to another coffee shot on university avenue. the third one was made to a -- the caller had a thick, indian, or middle eastern accent. the attorneys for berry bonds say he was a target for over zealous prosecutors. barry bonds was convicted on one count last year. prosecutors are expected to

traffic looks good if you get to the middle of the toll plaza here. there is a little bit of a wait. let's go back to the dave and pam. another mountain lion has been spotted in san mateo county. one was seen about 2:30 yesterday afternoon right near the crystal springs dam. they are saying avoid hiking at dawn, dusk, and night. that is when you are most likely to see mountain lions. new precautions are being taken to protect people and coyotes. bathrooms at golden gate park are shut down because coyotes may be nursing their pups behind that one imparticular. this comes after one animal control officer was charged after he went by the den. one woman tells us she is not concerned. >> i'm pretty protective of them. if i saw something odd, i think he would sense it and i would pull away. >> coyotes have also been

time is 6:30. >> a lot to tell you about. we have an update on sfo. passengers being rescreened after a security breach at terminal three. >> it was a breach of security but fortunately there was no problem with the facility. right now we are getting people rescreened. >> that is mike mccaron. a passenger sent us this photo. that is the end result. airport spokesman said a man without authorization entered the terminal that handles united airlines. dogs were brought in. police swept the area which includes restrooms and restaurants. they didn't find anything. there are residual delays as a result of all that screening out there. it should be cleared up by the

middle of the day. arson investigation is under way following a house fire in hayward. alex savidge joins us from the scene where that home was deliberately set on fire. alex. >> reporter: someone doused the home in gasoline and then intentionally set the place on phone and investigators -- set the place on fire and investigators say a witness spotted someone holding a gas can on the porch. his two care givers both of them jumped outside side windows to escape. firefighters also rescued kittens. this is on a account island near hayward. everyone that lives here including that vet named jimmy grateful they got out. >> i feel blessed i'm alive and everything got out and jimmy is

okay. he went to the hospital. >> reporter: fire department says witnesses watched that man hop into a waiting suv and sped off. right now the motive for the crime is unclear. the alameda county sheriffs office has launched an arson investigation. this home here just across the street interestingly enough back in november there were two fires both of them considered to be arson at this strip mall just across the street. we are checking with investigators to see if there are any similarities. live near hayward alex savidge. a fire destroyed one home and damaged another one next door. that fire started in the garage of a two-story home.

five people and ungets. that home is a total loss. red cross is helping find a new place to stay. police in riot gear were out last night. it happened around 11:00. you can see the police moving in ionist house. police saw ktvu the officers were part of a gang task force and they were serving a search warrant. the police are expected to tell us more information about what happened out there later today. a bankrupt east bay private school may be forced to close in less than two weeks. they were hoping to stay hope until june. claudine wong is in else redo with details about this fight over the windsrush school. >> reporter: this is a battle over three weeks. three weeks to get the kids

here to their last day of school which is set for june 7th. three more weeks before the doors here close for good. will they get that time? it will be up to a judge in oakland to decide. there is no doubt windrush school after 35 years will close. that has been decided for months after the school defaulted on 13 million in bonds and the school wasn't able to raise enough funds until they stayed open. and now even that is in question. >> just so sad the kids won't be allowed to finish the school year. that's just too bad. >> >> reporter: so what is the issue? as part of the agreement to stay open they had to turn over its revenue wells fargo and afree toed a -- and agree to

adhere to a budget. the penalty is always the same. shutting down the school, the school avoided that in february and will try to do that again this morning. arguing that it did not violate the agreement after all. families here this morning are in a state of limbo trying to figure out just how long the doors here will actually stay open. claudine wong ktvu channel 2 news. >> plus a story you will only see on two. some people say squatters accused o ever tearing up one home have taken over another home. neighbors tell us they recognize the people in the cars from one of our earlier reports. they also saw the same dog that threatened our news crew last month. the house on mead street will be sold at a foreclosure auction next month.

>> five teenage girls are arrested after a fight on an alameda county campus. the same school attended by footy. the high school senior that was stabbed to death last weekend. wednesday's fight involved 15 and 16-year-old girls and reportedly stemmed from an argument over a boy. no one was seriously hurt. police and school officials say there is no connection between that fight and the death of footy. the scar football -- was arraigned on tuesday. five men accused in the september 11th terrorists attacked will be arraigned on saturday. the alleged master mind and four coson conspiracy tours face terrorism and including 3,000 counts of murder.

our time now 6:44. welcome back. good morning, to you. here's a quick look at some of the top stories we are following for you right now. a security breach at sfo causing delays out there. look at this picture. one of the airline travelers took this photo and sent it to us. you can see passengers being rescreened out there. between 3:30 and 4:00 this morning someone out authorization went into terminal three which handles

united airlines. security dogs had to be brought in to sweep and clear that area. they didn't find anything. however, the delays that have been caused all because of the rescreening that should not be cleared up until the middle of the day. alameda firefighters say a house fire near hayward was arson. actually it happened last night on blossom way about 9:40. witnesses tell firefighters a man doused the porch of the home with gasoline. three people that were inside the house are expected to be okay. and the new labor department shows u.s. employers added 115,000 in the month of april. that is less than expected. the unemployment rate fell from 8.2% to 8.1%. >> we are following new developments out of china. blind activists has a fellowship at a u.s. university and expects china to move quickly to allow him to leave.

gang members are in jail this morning following a series of raids across the bay area. now we showed you the story as it was breaking yesterday. now you can see footage from immigration and custom enforcement shows predawn preparations. those agents launched operation red tidings. in petaluma officials say one of the suspects opened fire on three federal agents with an assault rifle as they burst into the garage of a house on mcneil avenue. now authorities say those rids yesterday are the culmination of an 18 month investigation following a triple homicide in south san francisco in december of 2010. four of the suspects picked up in the sweep they are now charged with murder in connection with those killings. post of the suspects are due to make their first court appearance in federal court today. a growing gang problem and a cinco de mayo celebration on a sat night. that could add up to trouble in

i just got an e-mail from paul rose the muni spokesman saying that cable car line in san francisco that is down today the california street cable car they are hoping to have it back this afternoon. this morning you'll have shuttle buses. one more thing bay bridge the emeryville area traffic is moving along a little bit slow today. now let's go to steve. the first to see the sun today will be those by the coast and closer to the bay. it's mostly clear over there. right now we have a little low clouds. i think most of the mist and drizzle is about gone. some of that low cloud deck is hanging around. low clouds and drizzle giving away to partly sunny skies. so slow clearing although the coast better off than inland areas. it will be breezy for everybody out of the west, southwest. and it will turn more northwest
