mcarthur boulevard police have the street blocked off but they have taken down the perimeter and they feel the gunman may have escaped that perimeter and in fact a s.w.a.t. team stormed a house in this neighborhood. everything started at 7:30 when police pulled a car over and the passenger in that car who was holding a gun jumped out and may have opened fire on officers and that's still under investigation. we understand officers fired back as the man ran to a nearby backyard and officers focused on a house and they believed the man was inside and they went in with a s.w.a.t. team and we talked with that

block after a man started shooting at random from his girlfriend's apartment. he was wanted and before 2:00 a.m. officers were talking to the girlfriend and he fired shots. officers called for help and they set up a perimeter. >> the suspect fired multiple shots through walls and floors and the building had people in it and the suspect set fires within the apartment. >> several people were evacuated from the building and shortly after 10:00, the chief said the gunman was shot and killed. he was a person of interest in a homicide in roner park earlier this week. a woman was found beaten to death inside her home and she has been identified as dianne hughes. there appeared to have been a violent struggle.

a teenager is charged, max michael wade is charged with stealing a lamb lamborghini and the car was found inside a storage locker. max michael wade is charged with the murder of two people in mill valley last month. he may plead this morning at 9:00 a.m. san francisco teachers will hold the first of two votes to hold a possible strike. teacher's union says despite $80 million in reserves they issued more than 600 layoff notices and they are proposing more classroom cuts. voting will take place tonight and a second vote will be needed to call a strike in the future. uc berkeley students on alert after a number of strong
