sal. >> we don't have metering lights on just yet and also if you are driving on 237 that traffic is moving well, let's go back to the desk. investigators are at the scene of an officer involved shooting. it happened and they are there now there are big questions about this shooting. tara? >> reporter: that's right. you can see they just brought in the crime scene unit and another truck they just brought in so a lot of sheriff's deputies here and they seem to be honing in on three houses and the cars parked in front of them. we have seen them taking pictures, checking underneath cars and they put crime scene here. this is what happened at 11:00 and they made contact with a

person on parish road. the police officer had some sort of exchange with them and started chasing them. the two ended up in a backyard, the officer fired one shot and the person was struck. they were transported to the hospital where they are being treated and we are not sure if the suspect is a man or woman because they have not said. the officer involved shooting happened with that and the officers has been placed on administrative leave and the sheriff's department will be speaking with us and letting us no, i the names of the suspect. meanwhile this was another confront station --

confrontation when police say they threatened them with a beebee gun. that suspect was not hit. police immediately took the man in to custody. there may be more to scott thompson. allie rasmus joins us from sunny veil with what was revealed before stepping down and what is next for the company. >> reporter: you can see it is up the headlines of the most popular stories, he resigned following a degree in compromise science when in fact he did not -- computer science when in fact he did not. they met to discuss the issue and according to the wall street journal, he told the board he had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and this is just before he stepped down as

ceo but they believe it is the resume controversy not his health and that's the reason thompson is out. >> as soon as he falsified his background, he was out. you cannot dodge that, you cannot have a ceo that falsified any aspect of a financial report including your own background. >> they named an interim ceo this weekend and he had been in charge with the media division. yahoo also named a new board member and in a statement, he said the board is moving on. we will have to wait a half hour to see if wall street is just as confident as yahoo's future and this is allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 morning

news. in a you tube video, the governor gave a preview of what to expect. he said instead of the $9 billion budget gap and he said instead they are facing 16 billion. governor jerry brown said if they don't approve his tax cuts, there will be a new round of cuts to compensation and welfare. they are certainly having an impact here in the bay area. alameda is having mop my problems of -- money problems of their own. they will discuss how to close the budget with less money coming in from the state capital. and the latest magazine cover has a new attention grabbing cover about president barack obama's new announcement that he supports same sex marriage. now it shows a rainbow halo

over his words called the first gay president. it will be center stage today when the president gives a commencement address. the president's comments sparked a spiritual debate at several churches and the ceremony included songs and scriptures with president barack obama's support of gay marriage. the pastor made it clear he stands behind the president and even a higher power. >> why do you think you have a right to tell others -- [inaudible] >> even though we don't believe it as christians, people have a right to do whatever they want

pleasantton and bay point looks good. this is a look at the toll plaza, you can tell it is getting more crowded as you come to the pay gates and those metering lights should be on soon. this morning if you are driving on san francisco, that traffic looks good up to the 880 submit. this is the visible satellite. it is a cloudy to mostly cloudy morning. this low is very unusual for this time of year and it does not have a lot of moisture with it. low clouds, a little southeast wind for some and we have a mild low and partly cloudy breezy and cool, as the system moves by it will be more

westerly. 48 to 56 it just depends on the wind's direction. we will still be sunny and breezy but a lot of 60s and 70s and other locations were 90 degrees. there is each some green and that would be upper 60s in santa rosa. it is cool and it will hold temperatures well down. it will be out of the west for many and even though there is a southeast wind out ahead of it santa rosa is 48 degrees and for some it will keep temperatures cool with cloud cover in place. low clouds, some sun, morning clouds give below average temperatures today and 66 for napa, berkeley 61 and a cool

woman and even though the nation is divided on the issue, one openly gay member of congress said it will not matter in november. >> if you were going to cast your vote, you were already going to vote for him based on that. >> reporter: 4 in 10 americans should be able to march but the majority said it should be up to the state to decide. allison burns ktvu channel 2 morning news. they are battling several wildfires two buildings near the historic mini community of crowned king. that area is under evacuation orders now. the largest burning in the national forest, no homes are threatened but that fire has burned more than 3,000 acres.

several more have struck near the diesers, it was a mag student quake. no damage or injuries are reported and the region experience is different. and today is the deadline for a group behind mayor jean quan to be removed from office to qualify for the november ballot. that group's leader said two different recall efforts caused a lot of confusion and his group did not get enough signatures. now the second group has until july 2nd to collect the needed signatures. they have between 12 and 15,000 signatures. well tonight, the city council members are expected to name a new member.

he took over last month after the interim mayor andy klein announced he is leaving city council because of personal reasons. omar a mad died suddenly because of a heart attack and they are supposed to pick a new one at tonight's meeting. 32-year-old frederic faces 26 felony charges including attempted murder and robbery. he has confessed to sexually assaulting the women between june and december of last year. a judge is expected to have more on the charges. it is a new law, only dutch residents can enjoy marijuana from coffee shops and cafes. now the law does not take affect until january however

some southern cities are refusing to serve tourists. many have signs up that read, knew rules, no drugs. one was violated -- one was cautioned for violating the new law. checking in with sal on the new commute, how is it looking sal? we have a 5 to 10 manipulate delay da -- 10 minute delay and i just got off the phone with bart central. let's look at the morning commute, westbound 880 looks good heading out to the mcarthur maze with no major problems and it is getting more crowded through richmond but nothing major. metering lights are on and pretty soon you will start seeing a backup and there is already a backup for the cash pairs.

temperatures on the high side. the damage is done so to speak and the low clouds are in place cool air is a lot of, -- aloft, it may take awhile for some clouds to burn off, clouds are out of the west and a lot of 60s or upper 60s an extremely low 70s, part part and continued cool. it is looking much better for sunshine and for temperatures. occupied farm protesters are clearing out belongings and uc police are moving in. these are live pictures and police are moving in to clear out that encampment right outside the uc owned property in albany. they are lined up and our cameras are panning around and one has a megaphone and they

are taking pictures of it. now you can see the camera focused on the encampment and the signs and where the people are right now. protesters set up the signs outside the locked gates of the gill track but they have been refusing to abandon the crops they planted and they have been demanding continued access to the site. uc police appear to be taking access and we can tell you the school needs full control of that site which is due to go next week. uc police are lined up outside of that farm site and we have no idea what will happen next but again we will keep you posted on this continuing situation and keep tabs on what is happening in albany. >> research is set to begin and it is heating up.

. time now 6:25 police are moving in on that occupied protest, police are moving in and you can see they are moving up to where the encampment is and they have their batons and we have not seen any physical confrontation but they are just now moving in. they have given the protesters a chance to leave that property and they want to use that property, they say they need that property for research this week and they wanted the protesters to leave, to be

evicted and they refuse to leave and you can see they are now blocking the entrance and locking the gates behind. we want see where the protesters are and again this is a stand off which was taken avenue from the university of berkeley. we will keep an eye on this and bring you details later. a local little leaguer is recovering in the hospital after being hit in the face with a line drive. this is one of the pictures of 12-year-old brandon o'neil. he has a crushed forehead, broken nose and concussion and thankfully no brain damage. his dad said the distance between the pitcher's mound and home plate is too short.

relations and it will be a tough day on the markets with all the european markets down and it looks like a big drop for us especially because of concerns about europe and also china. it is monday may 14th and i am dave clark. breaking news as we speak out of albany, uc police are moving in where protesters have been camping out on uc property. look at the line of police in riot gear. they are starting to take down or at least put up some of the area that has been around that encampment there. now the protesters have put up tents outside the locked gates and this is a gill tracks there

and they refuse to leave because of the crops they had planted and they still want access to this site. >> the cool wants full control over those sites and you canee police lined up and they will arrest or detain anybody who refuses to leave and they are out in full force on the property in albany and they are extending the area that is blocked off there and you can see police behind it. this is what is happening as we speak in albany and we will keep you posted on the latest at this protest. in napa, some big questions remain following an officer involved voting. investigators are still on the

scene. >> sheriff's investigators have been scouring the ground even taking pictures. >> reporter: they have put up some crime scene tape and it is blocked behind this crime scene truck and this is all because of a shooting that happened last night. a police officer made contact with a person in the area of parish road. they don't know if he was in a car or walking but the officers had some sort of exchange and started chasing. the two ended up in a struggle and the suspect was shot. now the suspect is being treated at the hospital. we are not sure if the suspect is a man or woman, they have not said yet and they say it happened with a major crime police officer. he has already been placed on administrative leave and as you can see there are quite a few

vehicles here from the police department as well. this block has been cordoned off and we are told nobody can go inside and people that need to go to working will be able to leave however. we will bring it to you, ktvu channel 2 morning news. time now 6:33, jp morgan announced a resignation after jp morgan chase lost $2 billion since april. now the unit responsible was overseen by drew. that complicated jp morgan's efforts to regulate changes after the financial crisis. now there are reports of changes after two executive officers will be leaving

sometime this week. they will mark the rebirth of a neighborhood and city leaders will welcome back families who were devastated in the pipeline disaster. the explosion destroyed 38 homes. a few families moved back in and 20 new homes are under construction. the pipeline disaster is one example of pg&e putting profits ahead of safety. they plan to be outside at the shareholder's meeting in san francisco and they will be at the nuclear power plants which they say are unsafe and smart meters which create health risks. one of the biggest bike rides starts this morning. in california they will start racing in san francisco before they head along the coast to santa cruz county. alex savage is live and you are

at the starting line in the march arena district. >> reporter: well they are taking tour and nextly, leaving on stage ii. they will be heading through the golden gate and riders will be here in san francisco for about an hour or so. today they will be heading to highway 1 and down the coast and they will be finishing up in santa cruz county and finishing up at 4:00 this afternoon. bicyclist will be traveling 117 miles, going through daily city, half-moon bay and other communities as well. and we have our technical director, how much do people need to worry about in terms of road closures? >> we are looking at rolling closures and we will be shut down about that timeframe ahead

southeast wind will turn more westerly. light rain and drizzle around the bay, partly sunny and partly sunny inland and cooler on the lows and breezy later on today. upper level low which is moving right now will keep temperatures cooler and that moves into the north so partly to mostly cloudy here and it is a cool pattern for us compared to last week and today we are talking 60s to the north, can't find any 8 as. again i have see 58 and 59 and that will allow it to build high pressure and below average temperatures on the highs, santa rosa and san rafael, only 61 officially in the city and 70 degrees same for morgan

the 2013 sl. . welcome back, here is a quick look at some of the top stories, police are lined up, uc police moved in on the occupied the farm protest just a few minutes ago and the tents and belongings were cleared from outside the track which is owned by uc berkeley. you see protesters carrying their things and police are moving in. now the university released a statement saying it was left with no choice after the protesters rejected the

universities offer. if needed police will make arrests and the cameras are there and they need full control of that land for upcoming research projects. meanwhile, an officer shot an injured a suspect following a brief foot chase on parish road last night. that suspect is expected to survive. right now it is still not clear on what led up to the shooting. and governor jerry brown said the budget is larger than expected and instead of 9 billion it is now ballooned to $1 billion. -- $16 billion. and at yahoo, we want to take a look at the big board, dow jones industrial average down 137 points and that's in response to what is going on in europe, mostly in china and yahoo's stock opened nearly 2% and it is up about $15 a share

between 12 and $17 for the last year. yahoo's ceo has resigned putting an end to the resume scandal and joining us from there, allie rasmus will tell us about the next challenge facing the company. >> reporter: they are happy about the changes at least for now but yahoo's ceo scott thompson stepped down over the weekend and now at the sunnyville headquarters, they have appointed ross levinson as increment ceo -- interim ceo and they appointed him after scott thompson resigned. his resume said he had a degree in computer science. according to the wall street journal he had recently been

diagnosed with thyroid cancer but most believe it is the resume controversy not his health that led to his departure. this controversy raises questions about yahoo's board of directors. >> is anybody qualified to take over, they would be too smart they have gone through too many ceos too fast and this kind of a mistake calls into question the camabilities -- capabilities of the board. >> and they added three new board members yesterday and a new chairman and a new chairman said they are confident and will serve the best interest of our shareholders since last august. we have tried to contact media representatives and they have not heard back yet. 15 people have died in a

plane crash in the himalayas. it was turning around to land and six others on board actually survived but some of them are critically injured. the rescue was swift because they crashed just a couple of yards away from an army camp. two danish citizens were sitting next to an exit which helped them to escape. and they are starting to remove the victims of last week's blane disaster. -- plane disaster. it slammed into a dorm man vol dash dorm man -- dominant volcano. he leaves behind his wife of 33 years and their two children. a man is recovering after being shot multiple times while

driving. it happened yesterday afternoon near auto center drive. police say the victim had left the scene by the time officers arrived but the 29-year-old man was found near his home still awake and alert. he was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. police are still trying to figure out what led up to that shooting. one man is recovering from a rattle make it bite and rangers say this is the time everybody should be on the lookout. the man was airlifted after being bitten by a baby rattle snake. rangers say avoid heavy brush and carry a first aid kit. vets say keep an eye on your animals and anti-snake venom for animals costs $850. sal, are you ready with your maps? >> i am and as a matter of

fact, pam, i want to show you, this area between palo alto and 101, we have had a few incidents, a couple of stalled vehicles, southbound 101 is not all that bad through the area and let's go out and take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza, it is backed up to the maze about 15 and 20 minute delay. it is a nice drive heading south to the toll plaza there. >> steve, what is the deal? this area of low pressure came in and it came in on parts of the coast and for everybody on sunday it is leaving its mark. there are a few light showers out there and a cool pattern and forecasted highs are 60s and 70s and some of these 60s are far inland and parts of the north bay the low continues to

march in and it takes that low cloud deck and brings it in. it will still be a breezy day and however there is a southeast wind in advance of that low where temperatures are in the upper 50s. i saw 59 in financial districts so it could be mild for some and cool for others. the low will eject off and there he goes, on his way up to the north and that will keep the system in place and it will be as much as 23 degrees cooler. partly cloudy and partly breezy, 67 and cool as a rule on the coast with a lot of 60s even santa cruz is stuck in the 60s.

it will be a cool tuesday morning and here comes another system to the north keeping that cool air in place in the north and the weekend is looking much better with warmer temperatures. today is the latest buyout offer and avon is considering the so $.7 billion bid. they are expecting to respond and avon publically traded, its stock was 5% up. mark zuckerberg turns 28 today and he is expected to take his company public. the ipo could face $100 billion making it worth more than craft foods or disney and he is 28. we are still following developing news out of albany and live pictures, police have

. breaking news from albany, uc police have moved in and they are one of several officers from occupied the farm protest, they have been lined up all the time outside that property and the tents were cleared from outside the track which is owned by uc berkeley and police are lined up around the property. now earlier they released a statement and they say they were left with no choice after protesters rejected their offers. it looks like their belongings were piled up and uc officers will make arrests if necessary. the university wants full control of that land for upcoming research projects and that's the latest from albany
