separate actions. while police at this hour are searching through homes in east oakland, these are live pictures and look at the police activity of right now. police are looking for several carjacking suspects and this is in oakland and again this is a staging area for police. police have been looking for them for the past couple of hours. they jumped out of their cars and scattered. police consider them armed and dangerous. we first started showing you this about 45 minutes ago and the police moved in and arrested a murder suspect. he is identified as 26-year-old todd gill lard. there was a $1.5 million arrest warrant out on him and he is

wanted for several murders. police in dublin are investigating a deadline hit- and-run. claudine wong joins us from dublin with new information and video you will only see on 2. we were able to move closer to where this accident happened. it happened a long willow creek and fall creek. as you can see it is a busy road and it is like that all weekend long. a man in his 50s was spotted by a car and was lying in the middle of this road, police responded and shut down this street. the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and they are also trying to track down the driver involved in

this hit-and-run but they did leave evidence at the scene. >> a patrolman ran it and found it belonged to a 2010 mercedes mercedes benzs. they are still trying to figure out what the cyclist may have been doing. they are not clear if he was walking it or riding it. >> reporter: we don't know why that cyclist was not in the bike lane at the time. but what police are telling us for sure is there is no way he didn't know he hit somebody. again the search continues for the driver involved. wopping wong ktvu channel 2 morning news. in other overnight news,

they are investigating. the victim suffered a severe head injury and was taken to the hospital. at the same time another person was beaten with a metal pipe and he suffered a broken arm. no arrests have been made in either case. construction working is temporarily on hold now at santa clara medical center. live in san jose where crews were shocked. >> reporter: construction has been halted after workers made an incredible discovery while doing some digging at this site which is near the emergency room. crews here reportedly unearthed more than a dozen old coffins in the ground. according to old maps this used to be a cemetery that nobody working here knew was there.

according to multiple propers there are 1500. all the poor people were buried there between 1875 and 1935 and people here are surprised by this discovery. >> for the construct people to come upon that is way out of here and it should have been documented. >> reporter: because those coffins ararright in the middle of this working site, construction has been put on hold and they will ask the courts later for permission to have them identified and find their rel tis as well. we have calls in to county officials and to the construction companies working on this project trying to

house speaker john boehner is having lunch and things could be a little continues from those comments the proposal calls for this fall and if approved it is almost double the cost of tuition. they will vote in july and there could be more painful cuts if they approve governor brown's tax plans. muni for san francisco's youth is getting more support. a committee with the transportation authority voted to recommend $400,000 for by the lot program. the board had to approve the recommendation. a pilot program is expected to cost $900 million. the metropolitan transportation commission will take a vote next month on a $5 million

and also there is an injury crash which may be causing some slow traffic. we are looking at 880 westbound and that also is moving well. cloudy morning for most, no fog here in scott mountain. 30 for ben low man and even san francisco, and coal valley all around 48 and 49. everybody else is 50s and there are some clouds around and that cloud deck is going to be slow to burn off. 54 on the lows and 43 and it is going to be a tough process so 56 and 80 but that 80 will be

way out yonder. i am not looking for a breeze right now but once the clouds burn off it will get warmer but there is so much there. breeze will kick in later and another low has to burn to the north of us. then they will see a southwest and that's a cooler direction for them coming over the bay. i don't expect those to drop any, once the system drops here comes the next one and that keeps the fog machine cranking along. fog sun although most locations will be done, what is that 79, mt. view 65 gilroy 79 and upper 50s and 60s on the coast.

. welcome back time now 6:14, thieves broke into tiaina baul "junior" seau's home and stole some things and police think they got in through a dog door. police were going to maintain a memorial outside his home but flowers have been removed and his family is removing all the valuables inside. and more information about tiaina baul "junior" seau's death, he shot and killed himself with a 357 magnum. his girlfriend last saw him alive 4:45 that morning.

grieving families. he had cuts to the back of his head and two black eyes following his confrontation with trayvon martin. that is according to the information with george zimmerman's case. he saw his family doctor after he saw him. he is out on bail as he awaits trial. some emotional evidence in a case against sheriff ross mirkarimi, it is now headed for city hall. they suggested a video of sheriff ross mirkarimi's wife can be used and here is the tape. it shows eliana lopez pointing to a bruise on her arm as she tearfully describes a new year's eve argument with her husband. mayor ed lee wants to use it to permanently remove him from

. good morning, they are clearing an accident from the upper deck on the bay bridge and those metering lights are on. a mailman was attacked while delivering the mail. he was on gilbert street and hayward yesterday afternoon when somebody jumped him. a neighbor found him slumped against his mail truck and he was grabbing his neck and moaning in pain. >> somebody could be casing you, knowing your routine and know you are not looking and come up behind you and let you have it. >> that is what they did, they jumped him from behind and pistol whipped him. >> was that could you wards -- cowards do. >> they may have been trying to

deadly accident. claudine wong is live with more on what you will only see on 2. >> reporter: there is no way this driver did not know they hit somebody overnight and the victim was found in the middle of the rode by a passing car. i want to show you some video. it all happened at 11:30 and police were called when they saw this bicyclist in the road. he was pronounced dead by paramedics and all we know is he is a man in his 50s and police are now trying track down his family and here is what they told us about what happened. >> when they got here to the accept, they noticed a mail subject on the ground, apparently hit by a car and the

mail subject was riding a bicycle towards san rafael. once he arrived he was announce -- once police arrived hey was pronounced dead at the scene. >> reporter: police left evidence at the scene and was able to trace those parts to a 2010 or 2011 mercedes benzs. it should have front end damage and it is still unclear when he was hit. you can see a bike lane that par levels the road -- parallels the road. police are trying to track them down now and we know motor vehicle division is also trying to determine what kind of speed the driver may have been going. it is 45 a long this road and people are going sometimes at a

pretty good clip. police are hoping there are witnesses who will be able to come forward and if you have any information you have asked to call them. we are 0 following two carjacking suspects in oakland. they are accused of stealing a car at gunpoint and pistol whipping the victim. they crashed into a car on high street. police searched through homes in the neighborhood but the accused carjackers apparently slipped away and it is a concern. we now know the identity and we first reported this 5:00 arm m. he is identified as 26-year-

old todd gillerred. he was wanted for multiple murders and an attempted murder last february. it has now been two months since sierra lemar disappeared. they are marking this sad occasion and they will be heading out to other parts of santa clara valley. she disappeared after leaving for school on the morning of march 16th. last week they recovered a red volkswagon jetta they think is connected to her disappearance. hid rob any. later today he will attend a private fundraiser and he will return for the public national convention presumably and we just wanted to dip in

big fog bank out there, not much of a breeze and i expect that to pick up and there is still a component of a westerly breeze and santa cruz mountains are to the north with a little bit of sunshine and not much, some fog, local drizzle, breezy conditions once the fog burps off and that says cloudy, lots of fog and for san jose it comes over the bay and over cast conditions, 50s for many, upper 40s in san francisco and in the santa cruz mountains there is a bunch of temperatures on the lows. i am not buying the 80s but it's going to be well upper 70s that should be in the 80s. and one location will move in late tonight and tomorrow and

. time is now 6:44 here is a quick look at the top stories, two armed carjacking suspects are on the loose and they are accused of stealing a car and pistol whipping the driver. the suspects ran right into a parked car in the 2400 block of high street. they were checked by the police -- homes were the area were checked by the police and they were not able to find them so they are calling off the search. and a murder suspect was arrested. todd gillerred was wanted for several murders and an attempted murder in february. there was an arrest warrant out on him. police in dublin are searching for a man wanted for a deadly accident.

a man with a bike was hit and killed. police are looking for a dark mercedes benzs with front end damage. a surprising discovery has stopped construction at the medical center. all level savage -- alex savage joins us live. >> reporter: crews unearthed a dozen coffins while working at that working site and they have halted construction at the santa clara medical center although we have seen some workers coming to the site and i have spoken with one of them and they could not comment on the discovery. nobody working on the project knew was here according to officials they believe there are potentially close to 1500 coffins underground. it was a cemetery for the poor buried between 1875 and 1935

ktvu channel 2 morning news. a safe way employee, the worker ryan young said he was in the middle of his shift when he saw a man beating up a pregnant woman. when the man refused to stop, the safe way worker jumped in and stopped the man from hurting the woman. police say he saved the woman's life however safe way employers disagree and say he did not follow store policy. >> it is a tremendous amount of stress and my wife is not well and i don't think anybody should have to second guess themselves or feel bad about doing what was right. >> safe way employers say they are supposed to report it to a manager or security about any problems in the store.

crown king arizona. that fire began on sunday. we have been showing it to you throughout the week. it has grown to 2. 5 square miles zero containment. it has forced the sachs of dozen -- evacuations of dozens of homes and again this fire is live outside of phoenix arizona. the men are being called heros from rescuing people from a burning van. it happened at a shopping center in vallejo. bill putnam is a 70-year-old cab driver and he is one of the first people to jump into action. >> i knew it was going to go at any time. i knew we had to do it right away. >> we picked them up off the wheelchair ramp and set them on the ground. >> nobody was seriously hurt. firefighters say it was likely caused by the van's battery.
