back to work yesterday. the post office is calling this a rare occurrence. reporting live, jade hernandez, ktvu channel 2 news. a truck hit and killed a pedestrian today as he was crossing a street today before 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. the victim who is not identified was hit as the truck turned right. the driver pulled over immediately and is cooperating with police. they are trying to determine whether the victim was in the sidewalk. prosecutors said there is evidence to convict 22-year-old davis of murder. he is accused of shooting a man outside club suede in february of 2010. that killing led to criticism of the entertainment commission for not doing enough to crack down on violence at nightclubs. a story you saw here on

ktvu, we were the only station non scene as agents busted a marijuana growing operation. ktvu's ken pritchett has new information about the connection between the bust and two stores in the east bay. ken? the store is called growers choice. we wanted to ask somebody about the operation, a man who greeted us would only say there was a mistake and he couldn't provide details except saying this is a legitimate business and their doors were open as usual today. >> reporter: when we talked to an employee he said the owner would do an interview but not today. he said there was a mix up, this was the wrong place but the dea says this store was

linked to this bust yesterday, in addition to 14 different marijuana growing locations that was shut down. 19 people were arrested, including the owner of the home. and his 50-year-old father. according to the dea, the father owns the stores and he and his son traded the stores inventory to a network of marijuana growers for a exchange in profits once the marijuana was sold. one neighbor wasn't surprised to see the dea. >> drug dealing, a lot of people walking around late at night and people that are not residents. >> reporter: we were there as agent brought out bag after bag. the dea says it included 3600 marijuana plants, 36 fire arms and $400,000 in cash and a

an emergency meeting to discuss the $500,000 in court cuts proposed in the budget plan. judges and court workers say the proposed reductions will cause more grid lock. it is still struggling with the cuts in the last three years. >> devastating. we weren't prepared prepared for. we knew there were cuts but not to this degree. >> they say new cuts will cause further delays in courts. the district attorney decided not to prosecute a father for under aged drinking in his home. he maintains they didn't allow drinking at the house. the da says there was not enough evidence to suggest he

san francisco police announced a break in a case involving a scam that targeted older asian women. they arrested six suspects last week accused of preying on the

milestone, installing 9 million smart meters. pg&e says it helps homeowners track their power usage better. not every customer wants to change. pg&e offers an opt out program, they say those customers must by $75 and then $10 a month after that. profits for ross stores were higher than expected. $208million in profit compared to $173 million last year. that is a 21% jump. executives attribute the numbers to healthy sales. demand helped push sales higher. jobless claims stayed the same this week. claims for state unemployment
