buildings with gas detection equipment but found no sign of leaking gas. the connector ramp on a freeway is back open now after being shut down for hours after a crash. it happened before 3:30 a.m. this morning on interstate 280 to north bound highway 285. caltrans spent the day cleaning up and repairing a guard rail. it was carrying 80,000 pounds of dry cement. the ramp opened 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. the driver says his truck had a mechanical problem. >> i don't know what happened, you know. mechanical. i go every day, you know, every day, two times, three times a day. >> the cause of the crash is still under investigation. there were traffic problems in oakland. a big rig crashed on north

other gay marriage opponents said they were confident they will over turn the ruling. the california senate passed a bill that protects officials who refuse to perform same-sex marriages because of their beliefs. he wrote the measure. it would take effect if same- sex marriage is legalized in california and keep them from putting their sates in jeopardy if they won't perform gay gay marriages. four men who were convicted for the murder of a store owner are awaiting sentencing. he was shot to death in the garage of his home in september of 2008. investigators say the execution style killing was meant to stop him testifying in a robbery case. yesterday a jury found them guilty of murder and conspiracy. they each face 26 years to life
