at&t park where the sexual harassment aggregations are rocking the area. >> reporter: they are only accusations. he has not been detained as detectives work this case. 25-year-old pablo sandoval took the field for the san josi giants tonight, playing minor league ball as he heals from surgery for a fractured hand. off-the-field? >> investigators are going to treat like this every other case we have at the sheriff's department. >> reporter: they confirm they are investigating a complaint from a woman who says she was assaulted by sandoval at seascape beach resort after meeting him in a bar in santa cruz. it was consensual sex according to his lawyers, but she says she was too intoxicated to consent. >> he has cooperated and we were able to interview him and the investigation is ongoing

winds would blow the flames out of control. the brisbain city engineer and pge tell ktvu that a down power line may have sparked those flames at the height of the outage more than 1300 customers lost fire. calfire says a fire threatened homes today. the blue fire burned 42 acres before it was contained go hours ago. a somber ceremony was held in san francisco to remember two firefighters caught in a deadly house fire a year-ago. ktvu's christien kafton shows us how the firefighters were remembered. >> reporter: firefighters rang the bell and at 10:58, the same time the tragedy struck a year ago, a

moment of silence. commemorating efforts perez and valorio. vincent perez died a year-ago today. >> i still miss him and keep praying. >> reporter: anthony valerio died two days later. >> he never regained conscious, in the hospital. >> reporter: today the department unveiled a plaque honoring the fallen heroes, calling saying they may be gone, but they are not forgotten. >> it makes me very sad, but they were very proud and very hard-working and honorable men. they really were. they are all different personalities obviously, but they knew their job. they had an enthusiasm for their job. >> engine 26 is still clearly mourning their fallen comrades, but the fire department says one of their lasting legacies will be the lessons learned from their tragedy and how to apply that to the future. >> we did learn some lessons

and we're continuing to develop new policies to address certain things, whether it's windy conditions or hills. >> reporter: firefighters say they have already received 25 recommendations aimed at keeping tragedy from striking again ktvu channel 2 news. you can find raw video from today's memorial on ktvu.com. just look for the video player on the homepage. we have new information tonight about the victim of a drive-by shooting in oakland that happened just before 9:00 last night on 96th avenue and olive street. authorities have identified the victim as 18-year-old alejandro aguilera. he was a frequent visitor to that store, but they not believe he was the intended target. he was an 11th grader in oakland. no arrests have been made. two other shootings in

oakland overnight narrowly missed their targets. police say a pair of gunmen fired on a van late last night on hyde street. he escaped without any injuries. early this morning a gunman fire more than 25 rounds. no one was hurt. police have not made any arrests. in the south bay a new ten- mile search for missing teen syria lamar. noelle walker talked with volunteers, some who searched today for the first time. >> trying to figure out how close we are to the point to start the route. >> reporter: it's the 24th volunteer search. teams found out looking for sierra lamar. >> i still have a lot of hope she will be found alive. >> reporter: these hills were lush green when sierra was first reported missing. months later, search volunteers are combing through dry brush, battling heat, steep terrain and the threat of

begin wednesday morning. morgan hill, noelle walker, ktvu channel 2 news. the man arrested and charged with murder in sierra lamar disappearance garcia-torres spoke briefly to the judge, agreeing to waive his right to a speedy trial. two people are dead and another seriously injured after a two-car cash in contra costa county. the accident happened on marsh creek road. highway patrol says one person was pronounced dead at the scene and the other died later at the hospital. a third person was hospitalized with serious injuries, but is expected to survive. a passenger suffered a severed arm after a suspected dui crash near the oakland airport. people say the injure man's brother was driving the car and

speed ing down doolittle this morning. it hit several large containers of jet fuel. police arrested him on suspicious of dui. a bizarre incident unfolded at airport in which a man went through the terminal completely naked. police say the 25-year-old suspect was first spotted at about 6:30 this morning. in one of the airport parking garages and then led police on a foot chase. from that garage in terminal b of the airport. officers managed to arrest the suspect right outside a passenger security checkpoint. police say the man resisted arrest and then one officer suffer minor injuries during the arrest. tomorrow makes the last date for united airlines operating at oakland airport. the airlines is ending service after 75 years at oakland. it had one route flighting 11 times a week flying from oakland to denver.

united operates a major hub in sfo. passengers flying out of sfo are facing majors. a duty manager tells ktvu that that prompted airlines to cancel at least 36 flights. the delays are expected to last through tomorrow. thousands of protesters are filling the streets of cairo after a judge spared egypt's long time president the death penalty. many though are angry that 84- year-old hosni mubarak will spend life in prison rather than be executed in the deaths of hundreds of anti-government protesters. adding to the crowd's outrage, the court acquitted his sons and top officials of corruption charges. coming up later we'll have a report from egypt with the dramatic reaction in the courtroom. kofi annan the un envoy

said the war in syria grows by the day, this as cnn aired scenes from a makeshift hospital. many people feel it's not safe to seek help in hospitals controlled by the syrian regime. as the violence continues in syria, across the border fighting broke out in lebanon. at least nine people were killed. lebanese leaders warned that the violence in syria could spill over to their border. in san francisco, syrian- americans returned to the streets today, calling for the international community to do, nor stop the slaughter of syrian citizens. the massacre in houla claimed the lives of 118 people. 34 women and 49 children were

the big headliner paul simon finished up his concert with the san francisco symphony and while the windy conditions may be a fewance at the civic center plaza, it's not stopping the celebration in the streets. the black-and-white ball took over civic center plaza. some of the well-known citizens and even giant's president larry baer traded one ball for another. >> there is only one black-and- white ball and there are 162 games and we have hand-held devices and guess what? 2-1 giants. >> reporter: while disco may be dead, the decor lives on. the dance party rock show entertained the more than 5,000 attendees looking to show their true collars. >> we're in the most beautiful city in the united states, we think and cindy lauppeer is here to party with us.

obama's birthplace. democrats have been pressuring mitt romney to disassociate himself from trump and the birther issue. president obama did not campaign today after fundraising in his hometown of chicago yesterday. he arrived at joint base andrew ms. maryland and flew to camp david for the rest of the weekend. mr. obama will be coming to california for a fundraiser next weekend. we'll have the details on that in a few minutes. meanwhile the president is calling on congress to act on job-creating bills he offered last fall in. in his weekly internet adirection he spoke perfect a honeywell factory in minnesota. >> right now congress should pass a bill to help states prevent more layoffs to put thousands of teachers and firefighters and police officers back on-the-jobs. congress should have passed a bill a long time ago to put thousands of construction workers back on the job rebuilding our roads and bridges and runways. >> president obama also announced a program to make it

. a frightening scene at toronto's main shopping mall. when a gunman opened fire, killing one person, and injuring seven others. police say the shooting happened near the food court at the eaton centre. authorities say one of the injured is a 13-year-old boy. witnesses described a chaotic scene as people tried to get out of that mall and police say at least two people were pushed to the ground and that includes a pregnant woman who later went into labor. the gunman has not yet been caught. in a cairo, protests continue through the night after egypt's long time

president faced justice for his role in yelling that country's uprision. ben wedeman is in cairo with the intense reaction to the verdict. >> reporter: they greeted the verdict with joy. and tears. prayers and fireworks, a life sentence for deposed president hosni mubarak and his hated interior minister habib. that mubarak's two sons were also found innocent of corruption charges. they reacted to the verdict was one

of joy, but that joy has soured as the details have sunk in. now they are chanting "illegitimate." during the brief session in the makeshift courtroom mubarak showed no emotion. his eyes hidden behind dark glasses. just a stone's throw way, relatives of those killed in the revolution waited to hear the verdict, many holding the pictures of their dead sons and daughters. he has kept the clothing his son was wearing when he was shot and called for divine justice against mubarak. his son was 11 years old. ben wedeman, cairo. in other news of the world, in ghana, ten people were killed after a boeing 727 crashed into a bus after the plane land at kotoko airport.

in china authorities broke up a child trafficking ring and rescue per second 1 children. according to the chinese state news, 76 suspects were arrested. the ring is accused of buying babies for about $1500 a piece and selling them within china for up to $7800. the neighborhood watchman charged in the fatal shooting of a of a florida teen has less than 24 hours to surrender. the judge has given george zimmerman until sunday afternoon to turn himself in. he says zimmerman and his wife lied about how much money they had back in a bond hearing in april and revoked his bail. zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old trayvon martin in february. as london gears up for the summer olympics, the british are already celebrating the queen's diamond jubilee. troops at while the hall played tribute to queen elizabeth with a 41-gun salute.

others to the hospital. vallejo police tell us that the shooting happened at 8:15 in crest ranch park. they say the victims did not appear to be suffering from life-threatening injuries and there is no word on any suspect information. we'll have more on this story tomorrow morning on ktvu mornings on 2. some neighbors in long beach are being warned to stay off a particular sidewalk that is being patrolled by some very territorial hawks. the cooper's hawks are nesting in a tree nest the river channel. they say they have been recently attacking passerby passerbys. >> he swooped down. >> ouch, neighbors contacted animal control that sent out an officer to put up warnings signs. cooper's hawk is a federally-

billion to help ac transit restore service cuts. authorities say a 19-year- old man is in custody tonight in a jewelry store robbery that left an accomplice dead. san ramon police say they arrested krishneel prasad in hayward. investigators say he and three others tried to rob the store in san ramon on wednesday. one suspect was fatally shot by one of the robbery victims. fairfield police arrested a man accuse of stabbing and beating an 84-year-old man. they say damon hamilton attacked the elderly man island in a hotel room. the victim was taken to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. hamilton was booked on charges of elder abuse, attempted murder and robbery. mothers against drunk driving walked into east bay to promote alcohol-free parties for teenagers. >> 3, 2, 1 [applause]

>> thune hundreds walked the 5k at chavez park along the berkeley marina. madd says the months of prom and graduation are especially dangerous for teens, and they are especially dangerous for teens because of the frequent celebrating. john sasaki's emceed event that raised nearly $45,000 to support the victims of drunk- drive and educate young people about how dangerous it. ktvu news was honored this evening for its coverage the occupy protest in oakland. the station took home several awards from the associated press, television-radio assocation including the bill stout memorial award for the coverage on the oakland occupy and in addition, the 10:00 news was also honored as the best 60- minute newscast. fire season officially begins on monday. what calfire says it's go doing to get ready for the season.
