looking for the possibility of rain. how is it looking? >> it looks like we will have a good shot of it. it will come on monday. today will be your final day of dry weather before we turn wet. we are waking up anywhere from 4-10 degrees cooler than where we started yesterday morning. additional cooling expected for the afternoon and that afternoon breeze will be back with us once again. i will break this down for you and show you what you can expect for today in the week ahead coming up. one person is dead and three others injured incluing critically after a shooting at vallejo park. right now the search is on for the gunman. >> reporter:s police tape is still here this morning. clear evidence of the investigation has stretched into the evening. we stopped by the police department 45 minutes ago. they are still looking for the gunman that opened fire on a

family at this park. one man is dead and three others are recovering from bullet wounds. police say the shooting started at 8:15 saturday night as the family was at a barbecue and picnic at this park. witnesses tell police someone in a dark colored sedan started shooting. the victims did not wait for ambulances. by the time the police arrived they had already been driven to two different area hospitals. 57-year-old man died from his injuries. a 67-year-old woman was listed in critical condition last night. as was a 17-year-old boy. a 35-year-old man is recovering from a bullet wound to his arm. at this time police are not identifying the family involved or speculating about a motive. coming back out to our live shot we walked around the scene here. you can see there is evidence of how quickly the victims left this park. there is still picnic items on some of the tables here. as you look across the basketball court there is a bicycle over there in that corner as well. clear evidence whatever

activity happened here forced people to leave very quickly. investigators are asking anyone with information in this case to come forward. for now we are live in vallejo christien kafton channel 2 news. in overnight news a double shooting in downtown oakland sent a man and woman to the hospital. witnesses say someone fired several shots on 14th and broadway around 9:45 last night. female victim was found a block away. she had been shot in the chest. police don't know if this was a robbery or if the victims knew each other. officers were questioning people but so far there are no suspects or arrests in this case. a berkeley man had to rescue his 92-year-old grandmother as part of his home went up in flames. it worked its way up from the first floor to the second floor where curtis harrison's grandmother was sleeping. he ran upstairs picked her up and carried her out. he believed ananlectrical socket may have been overloaded. >> there was a loud bang like

shooting the house. like a sharp earthquake jolt and saw the smoke. and the flames over there. trying to get the water hoses around. >> he salvaged what he could overnight and will meet with the red cross today. they will provide them with a temporary place to stay. a car slammed into a utility pole. it happened at 2:40 this morning at east 14th street and 163rd avenue. a woman ran her car into the pole and knocking it ten feet off its foundation. pg&e crews are working to install a new pole. giants third baseman pablo sandoval is being investigated for sexual assault. a woman claims she sexually say salted her after meeting her at a bar in santa cruz. they arrested him -- sandoval's attorney says the incident was

consensual. the woman said she was into intoxicated to consent. last night fans told us they were stunned by the news. >> panda. i'm stunned. >> there is a lot of people who would lie. >> i really hope it's not true. that is tough to hear. >> unfortunate to hear that. especially for the kids that look up to these players. >> a spokes woman for the santa cruz county sheriffs department says several interviews have taken place place. today is the final day for united airlines at oakland airport. they are ending service there after 75 years. the last flight leaves this afternoon. united had just one route at oakland. flying 11 times a week flying

to denver. travelers flying in and out of san francisco face more delays and cancellations today. the airport closed one of the runways to make lighting and sign repairs. that prompted airlines to cancel 36 flights last night. short flights were delayed 1-2 hours long flights were delayed half hour. police say this man 25-year- old robert monroy ran through the terminal completely naked. they spotted month roy walking around without his clothes on in a apartment. they chased him through terminal b and arrested in front of a security check point. >> rain rosemary?

people are still in the work force. that is the highest percentage since 1964. and the number of workers over 75 has never been higher. many of those seniors say they are just not ready to retire while others are still working because their savings were hurt by the economic downturn. >> a lot of people haven't saved enough. therefore they need to work longer in order to save more and or need additional income for as long as possible to supplement what they possibly could get from social security. >> the number of seniors in the work force is expected to increase as the generation of baby boomers ages. a shelter for young homeless pregnant women may close. is the shelter on 62nd avenue would not hold up during an earthquake. the 71-year-old building needs to close. it's one of two centers in the east bay that accepts pregnant women and allows them to stay two months after giving birth.

antioch city leaders are stepping up to wipe out blight. they couldn't find anyone to -- there has been a recent rash of squatters taking over vacant homes. today there will be a memorial service for three-time san mateo mayor and long-time city councilman john lee. he died monday night after battling lung cancer. he spent 12 years on the council. today's memorial service starts at 3:00 this afternoon. lee was 81 years old. mothers against drunk driving walked to spread the message of alcohol free party for teenagers. >> three, two, one. run like mad. >> hundreds participated in the 5k walk at chavez walk. m.a.d. says this time of year prom and

a woman in arizona is facing charges after police say she left her baby on top of her car and drove off. phoenix police found the five weekend old baby in the car seat in the middle of the road. the babies 19-year-old mother put the car seat on the roof of her car and forgot it was there. officers say she had been smoking marijuana with her boyfriend. >> it does not appear immediately she realized what happened. i think that perhaps she got where she was going and

wednesday into thursday finally bouncing back in the upper 70s to low 80s. back to the desk. heavy rains and tornadoes hit the mid atlantic causing one serious injury. violent storms in pennsylvania, maryland, and virginia caused a dome to collapse. heavy wind ruined homes, businesses, and boats. national weather service confirmed six different tornadoes. this water rescue shows how dangerous streams and rivers can be during rainstorms. they walked along the stream in maryland. a moment later witnesses say the rising water carried them downstream. firefighters didn't have much time to plan because the water was rising quickly. >> when the first unit got there the water rose within a foot or two within the first ten minutes of being there. >> firefighters managed to get safety vests to the kids. they lower firefighters down and pulled the kids down.

into possible brake failure. investigators in arizona say the discovery of five bodies in a burned out suv in the desert is likely connected to mexican drug cartels. police believe the suv is the same car that fled from border patrol agents earlier in the day. the sheriff says he is concerned about the growing violence in the western part of that county. california woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her family in their home. police believe regina johnson murdered her husband and 14- year-old daughter and stayed in the apartment until she called a relative and mentioned the bodies. >> she happened to mention her husband and daughter were dead inside the apartment. >> the relative called police. another relative told investigators johnson recently been laid off. a small fire was quickly put out in one world trade center in new york. it started early yesterday morning on the 89th floor. construction workers were able

to use fire extinguishers to put it out. firefighters responded to make sure everything was urn control. the cause of that fire is now being investigated. president obama is scheduled to visit the tower on june 14th to get a briefing on construction. students at chardon high school in ohio received their diplomas this weekend. just months after a deadly shooting at their school. 265 graduates walked up to receive their diplomas on saturday. students say their feelings about leaving the school are mixed. >> after everything that happened, i don't really want to leave our school because i feel like we have become so close and everyone is so much more loving it will be hard to leave it. >> it will get easier. i myself a glad i don't have to go back in the school. >> a 17-year-old who was arrested in connection with the shootings will be tried as an

items they clearly abandoned this picnic site in a big rush. we just spoke to a gentleman that lives nearby. he describes hearing several shots, a pause and more shots. vallejo police looking for the gunman that opened fire on a family at this park last night. this morning one man is dead and police say three others are recovering from bullet wounds. police say the shooting started at 8:15 last night as the family was having a barbecue and picnic. witnesses tell police someone in a dark color sedan started shooting. the victims did not wait for ambulances. by the time the police arrived here they had been driven to two different hospitals in the area. 57-year-old man died from his injuries at the hospital. a 67-year-old woman was listed in critical condition last night as was a 17-year-old boy. a 35-year-old man is recovering from a bullet wound to his arm. now we stopped by vallejo police this morning looking for an update on this investigation. at this time police are not identifying the family involved

or speculating about a motive. and walking around the crime scene here take a look you can see from our live shot that there is items still out here. you can see a basketball and a bicycle also left here at the scene. investigators this morning looking for any new information about this case. that earwitness we talked to earlier this morning said he was too concerned for his own safety to appear on camera. that was one of the reasons why he didn't say what he had to say on camera. he is concerned for his own safety. police are looking for anyone to come forward with any information about this case so they can track down that gunman. for now we are live in vallejo. in overnight new as double shooting in downtown oakland sent a man and woman to the hospital. witnesses say someone fired several shots on 14th and broadway around 9:45 last night. a man was found shot in the leg near a magazine store and a female victim was found a block away. she had been shot in the chest. police don't know if this was a robbery or if the victims knew

each other. officers are questioning people but so far no suspects or arrests in the case. a berkeley man had to rescue his 92-year-old grandmother after his house caught fire. he ran upstairs, picked her up and carried her out of the building. he believes an electrical socket may have been overloaded. >> there was a loud bang like shooting in the house. like a sharp earthquake jolt and saw the smoke and flames over there trying to get the water hoses around. >> he salvaged what he could overnight and meeting with the red cross today. they are providing them a temporary place to stay. also overnight a car slammed into a utility pole. it happened around 2:30 this morning. the chp says a woman ran her car into that pole knocking it about ten feet off of its

a downed power like may have sparked a grass fire in brisbane. it started around 1:30 yesterday afternoon. fire burned at least ten acres and knocked out power to 1300 customers. it took three hours to get the fire under control. all power has been restored and no one was hurt. firefighters are trying to determine the cause of a fire yesterday. cal fire says at one point the fires burned close to home before crews surrounded that fire. a rare site in our sky on tuesday. it's called the transit of

it happened at an outdoor party and right now police are still searching for the gunman. christian kaplan has more. >> reporter: we have talked to neighbors here around crest ranch park this morning and they describe a series of three or four shots, a pause, then another series of gunshots, one neighbor says he then saw a number of people running out of the park. this morning one man dead. police say three others recovering from bullet wounds. police say the shootings started at about 8:15 saturday night as a family was at a barbecue here. someone in a dark colored sedan start shooting at the victims. at the time vallejo police arrived, they had been driven to two different area hospitals. a 57-year-old man died from his injuries. a 67-year-old woman was listed in critical condition last night as was a 17-year-old boy. a 35-year-old man is also

recovering from a bullet wound to his arm. neighbors tell us that violence is unusual for this park. >> i'm surprised. i'm surprised because like i told you, nothing happened. i live in here for eight years and that's the first time. >> reporter: vallejo police, we have been looking for an update from them this morning. at this time police not identifying the family involved or speculating about a motive. you can see how quickly those people must have left from the park yesterday. there are still items left here on one of the picnic tables. police are still looking for that gunman who opened fire last night. if you know anything about this case or know who the gunman might be, get in contact with the police. for now live here in vallejo, christian kaplan, ktvu channel 2 news. a double shooting in downtown oakland sent a man and two the hospital. someone fired several shots on 14th and broadway around 9:45 last night. the man was found shot in the leg near a magazine store.

the female victim found a block away. she had been shot in the chest. police don't know if this was a robbery or if the victims knew each other. so far no suspects or arrests in this case. also overnight, a car slammed into a utility pole in san leandro. it happened 2:30 around east 14th street and 163rd avenue. the chp says a woman ran her car into the pole, knocking it about 10 feet off its foundation. the driver apparently failed a sew brightest test -- sobriety test and arrested on a drunk driving charge. giants third baseman is being investigated for sexual assault. a woman claimed sandoval assaulted her after meeting her at a bar in santa cruz. he was not arrested and played last night. the attorney says the incident was consensual. the woman says she was too intoxicated could content.

years old. today is the final day for united airlines at oakland airport. the airline is ending service there after 75 years. the last flight leaves this afternoon. united had just one route left at oakland flying 11 times a week to denver. united has a major hub and maintenance base at san francisco airport. travelers flying in and out of san francisco face delays and cancellations today. it closed one of its runways to make lighting repairs. that prompted airlines to cancel at least 36 flights last night. short flights were delayed one to two hours, long flights delayed 30 minutes. investigators are trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in a bizarre incident at the airport. a man ran through the terminal completely naked. they spotted monroy walking around without his clothes in the parking lot. so they chased him through terminal b and then finally

arrested him in front of a security checkpoint. one of the officers suffered minor injuries but airport operations were not affected. a berkeley man rescued his 92-year-old grandmother after part of his home went up in flames. the fire broke out over midnight. worked its way from the first floor to the second where curtis harris son's grand -- harrison's grandmother was sleeping. he believes an electrical socket may have been overloaded. a downed powerline may have sparked a grass fire in business bain -- brisbane. the fire burned at least 10 acres and then power outage knocked out power to more than 1300 customers. took about three hours to get the fire under control. all power has since been restored and no one was hurt. antioch city leaders are stepping up efforts to rid blythe from that city. they couldn't find anyone to fill the position so they are going to hire an outside firm to try to address this issue.

antioch officials want to bring back code enforcement. there's been a recent rash of squatters taking over vacant homes. a contract between the city and the outside consultant could be signed in a week. a shelter for young homeless pregnant women in oakland may soon have to close. a recent inspection found it would not hold up during an earthquake. the archdiocese owns that building and says it needs to close. the five women living there could be evicted. it is one of two centers in the east bay that does accept pregnant women and allows them to stay for up to two months after giving birth. you can cast your ballot now for tuesday's election. just a few dozen people turned out to cast their ballots yesterday. elections officials say turnout will be light because of the nature of this election and how the voting process has changed in recent years. >> for a low turnout election,

a woman in arizona is facing charges after police say she left her baby on the top of her car and then drove off. phoenix police found the 5-week- old baby still in the car seat in the middle of the road, around 1:00 yesterday morning. police say the baby's 19-year- old mother had apparently put the car seat on the roof of her car and then forgot it was

there. police say she had been smoking marijuana with her boyfriend. >> it does not appear that immediately she realized what happened. i think that perhaps she got where she was going and realized that she did not have the baby in the car. >> the baby is okay and he is now in the custody of arizona child protective services. the mother is now facing one count of aggravated dui and one count of child abuse. the world's largest hiv/aids fundraiser now underway. aids life cycle is a seven day bike ride from san francisco to los angeles to raise money for people living with hiv or aids. opening ceremonies kicked off at 6:00 this morning at the cow palace in daly city. the 545-mile ride will raise an estimated lech million dollars for the -- $11 million for the san francisco aids foundation and the l.a. gay and lesbian center. mothers against drunk driving wants to spread the
