seven hours. lorraine blanco joins us live and we have exclusive video of the suspect surrendering and new information, what do you know? >> reporter: well, dave, police just reopened jenson and you can see they towed away that stolen vehicle and the house is still yen circled -- end circled with police tape. he had seen the suspect at the home before last night. this is police arresting the suspect just before 3:00 a.m. and he surrendered after several hours of negotiations. officers rescued a woman and her five-year-old son earlier in the ordeal and earlier, a man was released sometime after 11:00. it all started when sheriff's deputies tried to arrest a man driving near international. they drove off, two passengers fled on foot and they blocked

41-year-old felon and has some kind of a relationship where he barricaded himself for almost seven hours. let's look at the exclusive video where he barricaded himself and he surrendered after a long night of negotiations. officers rescued a woman and her five-year-old son earlier in the ordeal. it all started hours earlier when an alameda sheriff's deputies tried to take down a suspect. police are relieved nobody was hurt. >> we were on a primary mission to protect everyone involved including the suspect involved so we were able to enter with s.w.a.t. and hostage negotiations team and have a dialog with the suspect and talk him out and have him surrender to police. >> and just before midnight, you can see the suspect with a gun to his own head and he was
