next. as you probably heard this -- all started last thursday night when about 80 seniors participated in a senior prank that turned in to two nights of vandalism. dozens are waiting to find what happens in this courtroom and if they will be able to graduate this saturday. you can see by the tears the tension inside this courtroom as the lawyer for 12 students argued that the five-day suspension handed out after seniors vandalized the school was unlawful and should be lifted. >> a first time offense for a non-- [inaudible] count is not suspendible. >> reporter: ahead of the hearing the district let back on the punishment letting them take their finals tomorrow and thursday and make up missed tests only if their teachers let them. >> i don't see it as a backing down or a blanking that. we started this last week at a
