today. she was hit by a truck near clayton and 6th street. just before the accident happened she had been making chalk drawings on the sidewalk. she later said one of the neighborhood kids threw the chalk many to chalk in the street. she ran to get it and got hit. a blue new model pickup truck. police pursued leads from sacramento to san jose none of them panned out. >> the challenge challenge is just locating the truck. >> reporter: her parents are asking for help. >> help us find this person because she deserve to be punished. for what he did to my child. >> reporter: they are offering a $2,000 reward. >> just come forward and tell your story. we want to know. >> reporter: they hope the most recent operation works and their 4-year-old will be back on her feet again.

>> the flames are out but the problem in the hills is not over. interstate 580 has to be shut down to repair electrical damage. >> reporter: chp said they will wait until nine until the drive is well past and then will shut down ott directions for a half hour to a hour and it's because of the car accident you see. only eye power pole that runs along mountain. this all started when an olderly driver accidentally crashed in to the pole. a grass fire was started and it caused a few dozen houses to be evacuated. they are back home but there is no power to the area. about 3,000 customers are out at and this repair will stretch in to the evening.

crews doing the work to restring the lines, you can see the lines over the freeway that -- they are worried that these wire that stretch may dip on to the pavement. chp does plan to close the freeway. the driver is in the hospital, helped out of her car by a passing driver who dodged sparking power lines to help her. >> life is more important than anything else and the fireman and they all run into danger all the time. i was worried about elderly lady more than if i could get hurt. that's what made me do it. the right thing to do. >> reporter: the driver may have had a heart attack. she was complaining of chest pain. the fire fight took over an hour. there was no structure damage, no injuries but restoring power will be a big undertaking over

water main gave way. it's about six feet underground and started leaking around 4:30 on mason street. people at the a nearby hotel had to do without running water and showers and restaurants had to close their doors. the leak was repaired by about 1:00. >> new statewide tattoo safety regulations set to go into effect. the act requires tattoo artists be trained in blood born born pathogens. the new rules take effect july 1st. >> state justice appearings have arrested two men accused of running a ponzi scheme. the 34-year-old and 41-year-old are facing 57 counts of elder abuse, grand theft and

. >> cal traps called for the sacramento bee to retract a story about the safety of the new bay bridge span. it reported that the testing was not enough on some of the 13 support towers on the bridge. caltrans has denied that and now says that the bee ignored evidence against their conclusion. the bee hasn't commented. >> defense attorneys argued there is a substantial lack of evidence to prove that two men accused of beating brian stow are the ones.
