9:34 am
in determining how fast they were going, how quickly they could turn. >> the dashcam flips around and miraculously the guy with the car, a little scraped up, but okay. for a head-on collision, i was surprised. police in atlanta are investigating a disturbing new trend called free pick. some teenagers are calling it a game. this video obtained of a 16-year-old boy getting beaten by a mob of people. the victim says, a boy came up to him while he was on his way home from summer school. looked at limb and said, free pick! >> oh, man. >> [ bleep ]. >> sucker punched him, and that alerted all the other teenagers around him to come and join the beating. >> how -- >> a mobbing. this is a mugging. >> this is just assault. this is criminal.
9:35 am
>> [ bleep ]. >> the mother and 16-year-old boy did not want to be identified but they did talk to wsb. >> i really don't like it, law that's a coward to me. >> cool when doing the free pick with someone else. what if someone comes up to you and does it to you? you're not going to think it's a game then. >> mrs. haven't haerpd the term free pick yet, but there have been other beating in the area. >> they're making something light of something so serious. it's not like you're leaving people a bruise, giving them a little punch on the shoulder. you're really giving them a beatdown. this could leave people with long-lasting consequences and injuries. >> they need to stop playing the game. someone will get killed or seriously injured. >> wow. >> it is extremely stupid, because seems these teenagers doing the beating are no considering the consequences. like you said if someone gets seriously hurt, there are serious criminal charge that could follow.
