with bullets remains on life support tonight. it happened last night on 580. police officers who were in the area hurt gun shots and found the car stopped. witnesses say a passengers jumped out and said they got my brother. the driver was shot in the neck. now police are trying to track down the suspects. >> we have cameras throughout 580 and 880 and that is something they will look into. >> police have not released the victim's name or a description of the suspect. judge says the wife of suspended san francisco sheriff ross mirkarimi can remain in south america. it is in the best interest of her and the boy to remain with her family till august 19. they are helping to care for the boy. the san francisco san francisco ethics commission will begin -- san francisco ethics commission

will begin hearings tomorrow. they will make a recommendation on whether ross mirkarimi should get his job back after he pleaded guilty to a charge related to domestic violence. in san jose a man was charged with sexually molesting two young girls girls and a disabled young woman. police arrested waking bailey thursday. he is charged with three counts of a lewd act on a child and one count of rape. it happened at a facility which houses children who are dependents of the court. he worked there for four years. he is being held on $500,000 bail and set to be in court tomorrow. jerry sandusky's child sex abuse trial entered a new phase today. the defense started calling witnesses. >> reporter: after a week of testimony from men who allege jerry sandusky abused them the defense had its turn to call

witnesses to the stand. richard anderson testified he never seen anything inappropriate between jerry sandusky and a child but he says it is not uncommon for children and coaches to use the showers at the time. >> if this is a preview as to the for strength of the defense i am not overwhelmed and i think it was a really not very strong beginning. >> reporter: the defense tried to find inconsistencies in the winds' testimony and questioned their witness' testimony and questioned their motive. >> there is lots of money out there, lawsuits have already been filed filed and we are investigating the possibility there is a financial motivation. >> reporter: the prosecutors office received a transcript of an interview. jerry sandusky says i didn't go

behind dad and supporting dad, my wife has been a rock. >> if he was convicted he could have faced 30 years in prison. players involved in the new orleans saints bounty scandal have their day in front of nfl commissioner roger goodel. transcripts of telephone calls could impact the bond hearing for the man charged with killing trayvon martin. the calls detail how george zimmerman told his wife to transfer money from their bank accounts. he was released in april but he was jailed again after the court learned about more money. his wife claimed she didn't know how much money was in the account. the calls also show he instructed his wife to buy bullet proof vests.

an autopsy was performed on rodney king. he died yesterday at the age of 27. his fiance found him at the bottom of the swimming pool. there were no signs of foul play. a student convicted in a webcam spying case will not be deported. she is expected to be reloosed tomorrow. he will not be deported because the u.s. because he has no prior criminal record. he was convicted after using a webcam to watch his roommate kiss another man. his roommate later committed suicide. the effort to stop a new mural from being painted has worked for the moment. the library users association has been trying to keep an

area. so far that fire has burned 900 acres and only 30% contained with full containment expected tomorrow night. hundreds of people have been evacuated and one structure has been destroyed. and in northern colorado wildfires there have burned 900 square miles and forced more evacuations. flames destroyed 180 homes. 58,000 acres have burned and the fire is only 48% contained. another fire also prompted evacuations. officials say the 450-acre fire has the potential to grow much bigger because of dry, windy conditions. one man hurt after a robber attacked him with a taser in san francisco. san francisco police say it happened saturday night. the man says he doesn't remember much except he found himself laying on the pavement

federal regulators plan to hold a meeting in san diego to reveal more findings from their investigation of corrosion that san onofre nuclear power plant. the plant has been shut down since january when they discovered a leak. it came from a steam pipe, one of several discovered to be damaged. they said the leak appears to be from a design flaw rather than faulty materials. they are in generators that were installed two years ago. there are more definish
