hour. anything under ten tells me it will be out of the gate warming up fast. 50s, 60s livermore saying 61. san jose in the low 60s. mountain view says that. a little cooler for some. high pressure is here. two systems merging together will give us a big cool down. today everything says sunshine and warm weather expect for patchy morning fog and hello summer. hello summer. you've been gone. low 90s for some. mid 80s for others. here's sal. steve, good morning. traffic is doing pretty well around the bay area. so far to start off. let's go outside and take a look at highway 24 westbound. you can see it's looking good between walnut creek and oakland. and this mornings commute looks good if you are driving this morning on the 80 freeway.

this is interstate 80 westbound. and also northbound 101 san francisco that looks good from 280 the downtown area. it's 4:30 let's go back to the pam. we begin with breaking news from a paint store. the kelly moore paint company caught fire in oakland early this morning. ktvu claudine wong arrived on the scene just a short time ago. >> reporter: let me give you a look at what is happening right now. fire is out. firefighters still on scene. you are looking at the backside of the paint store. you can see firefighters are on the roof and below when they got here they said just within the last past half hour there were flames shooting out of the roof and into the air. that back area has a lot of paint and combustibles in it. certainly they were very nervous about what it could become. however, they were able to get the fire out very quickly. and they contained it to an area that di not effect the

paint or any hazardous materials. so again the fire is out now. they are on the roof. and below trying to clear everything out. they said again damage is contained to a back area of this back part of this kelly moore paint store. as far as the cause, they won't say yet what the cause is. the battalion chief has an idea what it might be. they are waiting for an investigator to get out here. they do not at this point think this is a suspicious fire. the fortunate thing is, it is out and they are just feting into the roof and get into the other areas to make sure everything is taken care of so investigators can come in and do his and her work. as far as this area out here this portion of 42nd avenue is shut down because of all the fire trucks. there is one block of telegraph that is shut down to traffic so fire crews and fire trucks can get in and out of here. we do expect to run the tail

end of this. hopefully it will be cleared up soon. and as the investigation gets under way no traffic should be effected. oakland moves forward on a billion dollar proposal to redevelop the cities old army base. at stake thousands of jobs. ktvu lorraine blanco is near the port of oakland this morning with the counsels late night vote. >> reporter: good morning, pam. city council members say the new plan to redevelop the old oakland army base is as good as it will get and community members we talked with last night that packed chambers tell us they are happy to move forward. the council approved the billion dollar bill around 11:00 p.m. tuesday night. this comes after weeks of negotiations between the city, developers, and several community groups. the biggest sticking point had to do with hiring. they agreed to require businesses of 40 more more

may provide some answers. it's a story we first reported yesterday morning. police found a man's body near the jack london aquatic center. there were weights attached to its head. witnesses report seeing a red car parked in the area for at least three days. coroner says the man that died is 27 years old. they have not released his name or determined how he died. 4:35 is the time right now. new this morning hosni mubarak is reportedly in a coma after suffering a stroke in prison. initially there were reports that he was declared dead when he was at the military hospital. now the 84-year-old former president is in a coma but his heart and other vital organs are functioning. he was sentenced to life in prison two weeks ago for the killings of protestors.

main culprit. you ready for a warm to hot first day of summer? actually the first full day of summer will be really, really cool. today as we say goodbye to spring and hello to summer it will be very warm to hot. it's a quick warmup. we had it yesterday. today. up to 90s for some. we will drop it 10-15-degrees by tomorrow. but today it will be sunny, warm to hot. if you are attainder the back 40 or toward valley it will be in the 90s. there is not much of a breeze. in fact, there is hard any anything at all. it's less than ten. it won't take long to warm up. the nights are very short. and the days are very long. temperatures will warm up. look what happens here. we have two systems coming in. both of these will merge together. that will really pick up that fog bank tomorrow. tea is patchy fog. sunny warm to hot. it will be in the hot category as you move inland. 90s low to mid for some.
