we are awaiting the arrival of a team of specialists from the a.t.f. coming to try to figure out what caused last thursday's fire that caused that traffic meltdown in the bay area. a frightening attack at one of the bay area top universities. an early-morning fire at a bay area paint store, how the

"mornings on 2" starts now. it well, good morning. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. it's wednesday, june 20th. in two hours, experts are expected to tour a fire that created commuter chaos. claudine wong is live now to let us know what federal investigators hope to discover. >> reporter: good morning, tori. yes, they want to know what caused the fire out here that left the mess behind me. take a look at the situation this morning, you can see that

mass of twisted metal that was went around the construction site that was supposed to be part of a senior housing complex. this morning you can see the barricades are still up. we've seen several security guards in and around the area as they keep an eye on the situation. the safety of the structure has been an issue as they continue to investigate. i want to show you video from yesterday. this is video from the alcohol, tobacco and firearms agency. the feds coming through. we've seen them out here periodically since the fire to try to take a look at the situation as they try to figure out what started this fire. last thursday's fire caused this huge traffic meltdown throughout the bay area. the fire started at the construction start. but that site is so close to the b.a.r.t. area for most of the day because it blocked trains coming in and out of san

francisco and -- things -- and things got back to normal. but the fire investigation has been ongoing. they haven't been able to get in to take a lack at what happened at this construction site. that's because there have been safety concerns. but we know this team of specialists are flying in from across the country. fire experts can openfully take a look at the situation and determine what started it all. claudine wong, back to you. part of an oakland business went up in flames overnight. it happened just over three hours ago at the kelly moore paint store on 4nd street and telegraph avenue. the single-alarm fire caused significant damage. firefighters had to break into the building because it was all locked up for the night.
