for william lynch left the courthouse this afternoon and called reverend jerold linder a cowered for refusing to testify. >> we want him on the stand. we want the chance to have the truth. what happened here is nobody is interested in the truth. this prosecution isn't. the prosecution is accusing william lynch of assaulting reverend jerold linder. last week the prosecutor told the jury the priest would probably lie and on the stand he denied sexually abusing william lynch. that is why the attorneys advised him to stay quiet. >> he is concerned there will be a perjury investigation. he never has been convicted and never admitted it. >> reporter: attorneys said it would hurt their case if they are not allowed to cross- examine him. the judge granted the motion to

postponed till october 1. he pleaded not guilty for the april 2 shooting rampage. police say no one was hurt today when an officer shot at a suspect. it occurred this afternoon. authorities say investigators were attempting to pull over a suspected stolen vehicle when the driver rammed the officers. that is when the officer opened fire. one person has been detained. another officer involved shooting in antioch, left the suspect with a wound to the stomach. witnesses say the officer and the suspect had a con41itation. the suspect -- confrontation. the suspect is expected to survive. >> a fire caught the attention of drivers who called 911. started before 1:00 p.m. this afternoon in pittsburg.

police say a san francisco dayler rights -- gay right anth vist has been arrested for child pornography. police provided us this mugshot. he retired from the san francisco human rights commission in 2010. the case remains under investigation. the san francisco police department has become the first in the country to launch a new technology to help their officers fight crime. officers will no longer need to carry paper, pen, camera or gps. instead they will be rolled into new computers that will put resources at their finger tips. it includes a search engine that allowsorses to track down -- allows officers to track down criminals and other information. >> we will be a leader in the region in connecting to our neighboring counties. >> the new technology will be

rolled outlet over two -- rolled out over two years. police say two men were stabbed during the pride celebrations over the weekend in san francisco. investigators say the two men were walking with friends at 5:00 p.m. last night when an argument erupted with another group of people. a man pulled out a box cutter and stabbed the victims. they suffered minor injuries. the suspect was bearing shorts, a bow tie and carrying a shoulder bag. an honest mistake is causing heart ache at a school. workers accidentally painted over a mural that students completed just three weeks ago. the school is being painted, including another wall with a older mural. that is where the mix up happened. >> that art work has been there

>> raids also went on in san francisco, oakland, san rafael, san jose. the supreme court through out much of arizona immigration law. as ktvu's cara liu shows us it has both sides claiming victory. >> reporter: here in san jose, a rallying point for the community and so many of those effected by the debate. some of the biggest demonstrations have started here. the u.s. supreme court struck down three portions of arizona's immigration law. but it upheld the "show me your papers" provision. it requires police to check immigration status if people are stopped or in custody if there is suspicion the person is in the state illegally.

door on future challenges. cara liu, ktvu channel 2 news. >> new details on how many support arizona's immigration law. 58% in the u.s. approve it. the research shows 42% want some sort of path to citizenship. republican presidential hopeful mitt romney was in arizona today but wouldn't go on camera to say how he felt about the ruling. cameras caught him on board his airplane. he issued a statement saying states have a duty and right to secure their boarders and blamed president obama for inaction. president obama didn't speak on camera either, in a statement he said he was pleased they struck down portions of the law but it concerns about officers

checking immigration status. the president no american should ever live under a cloud of suspicion just because of what they looked like. members of the united farm workers union rallied in sacramento today saying they want the same rights as other employees. they are supporting two pieces of legislation. 1313 would provide over time pay for farm workers. 889 would do the same for domestic workers. >> over time pay after 8 hours a day is long over do for farm workers. the bill of rights needs to be passed. >> the state senate is set to consider the bill on wednesday. it was warmer today than yesterday. and that is where we are going
