one of the two men and they both were suffering from smoke inhalation. this is here on the 2900 block of kings land avenue in oakland. crews were able to knock these flames down fairly fast and they did a check of the home, searched the entire place and left them beyond conscious. >> i don't know how long they were there before the fire started. we have highly trained paramedics and we are doing all we can to enhance enhance the ability to save them. >> reporter: both are in critical condition at this hour. firefighters have since been called in with the oakland fire

the second floor of this house. this is an early morning video and we are giving cpr to the men. they are both pulled from the home and potential of them had suffered smoke inhalation inside this house. crews were able to knock these flames down fairly quickly and that's when they did their search and rescue and worked their way through the home and eventually found these two men both of them unconscious on the second story of this home. they pulled them outside and did everything they possibly could to save the two men. >> we pulled them out fairly quickly in the incident. i don't know how long they had been in before the fire started. we have highly trained par met kicks, and at this time we --
