the coroner identified a teen killed in a hit-and-run accident this morning. jahzeel forsen of american canyon died after midnight. witnesses say the teen's truck was hit by truck that crossed the center line. 41-year-old michael harmon was driving the white truck and he ran away from the scene. 10 hours later he turned himself in. sharp words today during closing arguments in the william lynch trial, the man accused of beating up a priest he says molested him as a boy. ktvu's robert handa has more. >> reporter: both sides in the william lynch trial took their last verbal shots to try to sway the jury. >> reporter: william lynch, his attorneys and prosecutors spent

the day ranging. william lynch is accused of attacking reverend jerold linder, he says he raped hip and threatened his family. the prosecutor reminded jurors this is about the may 2010 assault. he said it is understandable to be sympathetic to the sexual assault but it did not give him the right to take the law into his own hands. >> explain how they can not allow vigilante justice. >> reporter: the defense attorneys addressed the jury. the 1995 incident was rape and torture. he described the injuries as miner and not great bodily

dollars. a man has been arrested and accused of molesting a 7-year- old girl. he surrendered to police after they were contacted by the mother. he has been charged with suspicion of committing lewd acts with a child, sexual battery, molesting the child and he is a suspect in cases involving peeping. his bail has been set at $60,000. investigators haven't identified any suspects in a weekend shooting and stabbing that injured aldon smith. he was stabbed and two people were shot during an altercation during a party at his home in san jose. the wounds are not serious. investigators say people at the party were unable to provide information. it is a third straight day

own house. the fire was reported early yesterday by neighbors who smelled smoke coming from the home. no one was inside at the time. after the fire was put out the woman was taken to the hospital. a man is recovering after he was attacked by a mountain lion. according to california department of fish and game the man was sleeping near nevada city and just finished a day of hiking. the man said the animal bit and clawed him. his wounds are not life threatening. california became the first state to put into law a mortgage settlement. they voted in favor of the foreclosure protection act and the due process rights act. it requires lenders to provide

a contact point and they prohibit lenders to foreclosure while they are considering modifications and they give borrowers greater rights to sue lenders. >> reporter: the justice department allowanced the largest healthcare fraud settlement in history. glaxosmithkline agreed to a $3 billion fine. the company illegally marketed some drugs for uses not approved by the fda. the company hid data showing a diabetes drug could increase the risk of heart attack. prosecutors say glaxosmithkline bribed doctors to prescribe its drugs. >> glaxosmithkline officials

starting today san francisco muni is expanding its backdoor boarding policy to include buses. passengers with a clipper card can board all muni vehicles through the backdoor. some passengers like the idea but say the plan could give

project will move forward. the house of representatives voted on friday to pull $850 million from the project. business owners and residents will be effected by construction for the next two years. some say it could cause traffic jams, especially on columbus avenue. a man is behind bars for robbing a ice cream store at gun point. police received a call about a robbery before 7:00 p.m. last night. by the time officers arrived the suspect ran off, they later found him. a soldier at fort bragg who shot and killed his commander and turned the gun on himself has now died. the soldier died last friday. he was awaiting court-martial at the time of the shooting.

of assessments and doesn't seem alarmed. ktvu's consumer editor tom vacar joins us live from san francisco, where pg&e is conducting another pipeline test. right, tom? >> reporter: that's right. pg&e's future credibility crests upon them -- rests upon them. >> reporter: as testing moves forward comes word of a study. the study says there are 500 potential trouble spots on 239 different pipelines. pg&e not so dire. >> what they are saying is this is how we think you should prioritize these things. they are already scheduled for testing this year or in 2013. >> reporter: customers we met today were concerned about the size of the need to fix list. >> i believe the problems

should have never existed with all the workers and technology. >> reporter: because of the san bruno explosion they are trying to do what they can do to get things corrected. >> if these bad pipelines go back 50 years or more they will need time to get fixed. >> if you put a microscope on pg&e or any organization you will find issues. that being said, many issues are life and death issues so it should be top priority. >> we are searching for issues. the minute we stop finding issues, we are not looking hard enough. >> reporter: simple fact is, no matter how hard they look, the fact is pg&e may have to water test the entire system. every inch, thousands and thousands of miles just to convince people that the system is safe. tom vacar, ktvu channel 2 news.

>> more details on pg&e. they are seeking a rate increase of more than $2 billion. if approved the customer who gets gas and electric would see their bill increase $114 -- $144 a year. ktvu channel 2 news talked with a spokesperson with the fire department. investigators now determined the fire started in a open space that runs inside the building from the ground floor up to the roof. and an unknown discarded material sparked the fire and the fire was an accident. estimated damage is $700,000 in property and $300,000 in content. apple ask being -- is being threatened with closure in italy and fines of $377 if they

investigators are saying squatters caused a weekend fire at an apartment building. ktvu's christien kafton is at the scene of the fire. officials say this kind of thing is a growing problem around the bay area. >> reporter: they do. let's show you the damage caused by the fire. the fire did a great deal of damage here. this building was foreclosed on but people still lived here and one of them set the fire. >> reporter: after noon yesterday, investigators arrested michael moss and said he set the blaze. the apartment building is in foreclosure but that didn't stop people from moving in. >> you got the homeless and drug addicts. you see the windows, lights are on. >> reporter: investigators say incidents like this are more common. one a day somewhere around the

this afternoon following a hazmat situation. someone smelled a chemical in a storm drain. authorities evacuated a half dozen businesses but in the end it was nothing more than soap. it was harmless and they lifted the evacuation order. they are now clearing up the soap. republican presidential hopeful mitt romney is taking a week off from the campaign trail for a family vacation. we have video to somewhere with you. mitt romney jet skiing with his wife. they are vacationing with their five sons and 18 grandchildren. one tradition is the olympics in which the husbands compete against the wives. football tossing and a nail hammering contest. president obama and mitt romney have an uphill battle.

a bill to track crack down on party buss is facing a vote tomorrow. the bill's author made a push today in san francisco for the bill. it would increase regulations on party buses and hold them responsible for underanalled drinking on the -- for under aged drinking. their 19-year-old son spent hours drinking on one of the buses. the bus dropped him off at his car and he later crashed and died. >> we want to save other families from going through the stunning realization that we went through learning that our son was killed. >> they have approved the party
