street. everything happened just after 10:00 last night that is when three suspects confronted the woman outside of her house and barged inside. all four people to who live here were forced into the family room. at some point one of the men and the suspects started a fight. he opened fire and shots broke out and at last check, they are still on the loose according to police. this morning union city police are telling us they do believe the motive for this crime is home invasion style robbery was indeed theft although at this point it is unclear if these suspects who barged into the house stole anything from the home but again, a woman shot, she underwent surgery and her condition is not known and of course i will work to get information, alex savage ktvu channel 2 morning news. it was a very tense scene

overnight. our surveillance cameras took footage near the area last night. a man wanted for a serious crime several miles north of sunny veil. the search lasted several hours but there was no sign of that wanted man. three people were forced from their home by an overnight fire. shortly after midnight, they responded to this fire on entry way. they say it looked like the fire started near a shed and quickly spread to the deck. a fire investigator is looking to determine what caused the fire but right now it does not look suspicious. oakland police have arrested dozens in a violent east oakland gang. they are drug trafficking credit card fraud and weapons

the smoke engulfed the building. we are getting a head count on everybody. we did notice police handcuff a man and take him away. police said he was one of the squatters and did confess to lighting the fire. this is the exact same building that went up on july 4th three years ago. they had complained to police numerous times and the housing authority. and he is having problems, they each tried kicking out the squatters on their own but they keep coming back. red cross is helping those with temporary places to stay and we will be speaking with the chief and get more information on exactly where they stand with

. good morning, some fog out there, still a lot of 50s on the temperatures and we will he end up 90 degrees well inland. students in napa counties are mourning the death of a 17- year-old boy. he would have started his senior year this fall but he was killed in sunday night's hit-and-run crash near petaluma. many of his friends learned of his shocking death from facebook. they remember him for his love of skateboarding and bike. >> you never think something like that would happen to anybody. >> highway patrol says 41-year- old michael swerved into oncoming traffic and went head- on. he surrendered to authorities

yesterday morning ten hours after that deadly crash. he now faces vehicular man slaughter and felony hit-and- run. more than a million customers are still without electricity and dealing with extremely hot weather. it has been more than three days since a wave of violent storms knocked over power lines. they have serviced more than 1 million customers and more than 8 million are still without electricity. >> i guess the fact that the power is out, people are sticking together just because the power is out. it unites us in a strange type of way. >> maryland has reported three heat related deaths and there is no cool down in sight. they are trying to bring in help to help speed up the repairs. an inn credible heat related accident.

ones. by the way, the largest fire, the waldo canyon has burned 350 homes and it is 70% contained. rolling brownouts this means from now until the end of next june, two services will be out for the next couple of days. they are often housed in one station. the temporary closures will affect one station with one company and in this case the entire station will close for three days. >> we want to make sure we don't have any serious impact within one area of the city or that we are closing stations during high fire season. >> they are aware these ground outs -- brownouts come. they will be monitoring any

illegal fireworks activity. san francisco police are looking for a man who critically injured a woman in golden gate park. it happened at stow lake. an 82-year-old woman scolded a boy for hurting a goose. then the boy's father hit her causing her to hit her head on the pavement. million are looking -- police are looking for anybody who witnessed this accident. and they are causing union traffic problems. it was earlier near the 280 interstate but no major problems. the east shore freeway is off to a nice start and it is a nice looking drive heading out to the mcarthur maze and no major problems if you are driving through this area. also the morning commute, the bay bridge toll plaza is a nice looking drive with no major

pipes and weak spots and utility must assess pipeline couldn'ts. among the pipelines at -- pipeline conditions. among the pipelines they are conducting pressure tests for wells that are susceptible of rupturing. they will go inside an empty tank to try and learn what caused a hazardous leak last months. dozens of people packed the area in crocket to talk about it. a leak caused a rotten egg smell to spread through the surrounding area. we are taking a drill down to find out what precisely causes this incident and ensure it will not happen again. >> and profits these oil companies make and i feel like they should put a little bit of money back into the system to keep residents and towns like this and keep us safe.
