you should be just fine. this is a look at highway 4 traffic looks just good. 24 traffic also looks good. it is a holiday. we will likely have very light conditions this morning. let's go back to the desk. this morning police are trying to find four children that are missing from their north oakland home. police are very concerned but adults in charge of those children are not talking. alex savidge joins us with more on that and a near drowning of a three-year-old boy that also lived at that house. >> reporter: oakland police started searching for those missing kids after their sibling a three-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital reportedly after a near drowning. he was found unresponsive in a bathtub. he was eventually revived. the boys babysitter, mother, and stepfather have been arrested on suspicion of child abuse. the search is on for the couples four other children that are missing.

police believe other relatives are hiding. >> reporter: no photos are available of the children but we are told they are all african american. based on the condition of the boy that is here at children's hospital he is showing signs of child abuse. oakland police are very concern this morning. they are worried about the well being of those missing kids given the condition the three- year-old boy here at children's hospital is in. this morning we are asking for the publics help. if you know where they are or how they can be reach, reach out to oakland police. today's chronicle reports the college has just eight months to prove it should stay in business or risk the lost of its accreditation. it comes after an education

panel cited the college. the commission could vote as early as june yank it's accreditation. the 49ers scored a legal victory in their fight to get back $30 million in stadium funs. last month the county voted to pull $30 million out of the stadium project saying it would rather use that money to improve schools. the 49ers strongly objected saying voters had earmarked that money for the stadium. this morning we are continuing to track severe weather in the mid atlantic and midwest where there are more than a million people still without power. coming up how those storms are effecting the south mall. police went to the home on street yesterday after

receiving a tip. inside they found 63 explosive devices and a handgun. they arrested 44-year-old jerry lopez a convicted felon. he was charged with possession of explosives, fire works, and a firearm. they say overall those fire works were the equivalent of 12.5 sticks of dynamite. tonight's fire works show will draw hundreds of thousands of people are all are hoping for clear skies. gabe gave ktvu a sneak peek atonies setup. more than 600 individual fire works shells will be blasted from a barge in the bay. every year they line the waterfront from goalen gate to treasure island. everyone causing their fingers that fog does not soy the view. if you can't see it, it's just wasted.

border into afghanistan today for the first time in seven months. pakistan block the trucks after a u.s. air strike last month. pakistan demanded an apology from the u.s. and yesterday secretary of state hillary clinton released a statement saying the u.s. was sorry for the loss it suffered by pakistan's military. turning to the race for the white house for the first timezones april president obama opened up a sustained lead over mitt romney in the gallup tracking poll. pebbles romney 48% to 44% in the latest poll. it is the sixth con secondty day the president has pulled ahead. the july 4th concert at the national mall will be held tonight as scheduled despite severe weather in the washington, d.c. area. thunderstorms brought practice to a halt yesterday.

more than one million people are still without power following last weekends deadly storms. at the height of that outage three million customers from indiana to washington, d.c. were in the dark after hurricane forced winds knocked out power. long lines formed outside stores that sell generators. 24 deaths have been blamed on the storms. we took a look at the roads. there are still people out there. still people stuck going to work today. >> people are going to go to work. just not that many. most people that drive the morning drives we look at are not going today. but we are looking at it here. certain people are out there. for example i was out there a little while ago on my way here. there you go. so was steve. the traffic is moving along nicely here on 80 freeway. bay bridge toll plaza this

new hampshire. a bunch of fire works blew up on a back deck. it sounded like gunshots going off. it caused a fire and filled the home with smoke. there were 30 people inside at the time. the owner of the home puts on large fire works displays every independence holiday. san francisco bay will be more crowded today than most wednesdays as boaters take to the water to enjoy the fire works show. the coast guard and police will be looking for people that violating basic safety rules. the biggest concern is life jackets. since 84% of all fatal boating accidents last year were not wearing life jackets. >> you were out in the water, we recommend you have to have a life jacket for every single person on the boat. and the life jacket has to fit. >> the coast guard also warns boat owners to be careful about boating too hard. boating under the influence are just like dui tickets for car drivers. 4:52. speaking of cars.
