>> we're live in oakley where a late night fire is still smoldering this morning. we'll tell you why neighbors are flaming mad. >> complete bay area news coverage starts right now. this is ktvu mornings on 2. >> good morning. i'm mike mibach. >> good morning. we begin with a major developing story this morning. several eastbound lanes of the bay bridge are still shut down at this hour. alex is live with a chain of events that led to this closure. >> reporter: good morning to you. this traffic messtriggered by a chp pursuit that led to a shooting and a source of the investigation says the driver being chased opened fire on officers and you can see the result behind us. traffic extremely slow. no one we

understand was hit by gunfire but the source says the shooter tossed his gun into the bay after the shooting. this all started around 1:30 this morning. the car crashed and that's when shots were fired. the driver was injured and taken into custody. now, san francisco police out here we're told they are assisting in this investigation. the crime scene technicians have been called in. and we understand it could be 10:30 until all the lanes are reopened here because of this crime scene investigation. send it over to sal and he can give us alternate routes. >> reporter: i can tell you traffic now on city streets is slow. it's also slow on the skyway. >> want to go to a picture now on the scene 1st near harrison street. maybe some people don't know about this. i don't know why anyone would voluntarily drive into this traffic but it's very slow. if you have to go,

he was rushed to santa rosa memorial hospital. but at this time we don't know the extent of his injuries. it was unclear why he was on the roof but he was reportedly with the friends and it was those friends who called for help. >> oakland police are looking for the driver responsible for a deadly hit and run accident. the victim is a man on a bicycle. happened around 9:30 last night at a walgreens store at 81st and international. the driver hit the bicyclist, dragged his bike and sped off. officers are now looking for a silver sedan possibly with a broken windshield. we have pictures of a spectacular fire in oakland. around 1:00 this morning, flames shot out of a honda accord. a news camera arrived on scene even before the first

firefighters. flames reached about 20 feet into the air. once firefighters arrived they extinguished the flames. they do not think if the fire was an accident or set. >> overnight fire works caused a brushfire in oakley. happened near tualome way. recent budget cuts to the fire department almost spelled disaster for that neighborhood. >> reporter: we talked with a lot of neighbors this morning. they are not happy. some even called in sick today because of what you see right over there. a lot of smoke emanating from the brush where the fire work landed. the blaze started about 10:30 last night. a neighbor told firefighters he saw the fire work land in the brush. it torched almost 3 acres. a chief tells us a lack of local

firefighters increased the danger. neighbors agree and say it's obvious the closing of multiple fire stations will continue to be a problem. >> i'm thankful that the wind didn't kick up otherwise our homes would have been up in flames but i stress this is why that measure s was so important to pass. with three fire stations close, it did delay the response time for fire crews to get here. >> reporter: this is new video this morning. closeup of the smoke still coming off that dry bush. there are no other reported injuries or damage to homes. but this morning it's already an issue for neighbors especially those with breathing problems. ktvu channel 2 news. >> after a break for the holiday, jurors of the beating trial of a priest will resume deliberations. william lynch faces felony assault and elder leah bus charges.

he -- elderly, abuse charges. he also told the jury he hit him after experiencing a fear triggered by memories of the alleged abuse. >> 7:06. let's check in with sal. what a messon the lower deck. you don't expect a back up this time a day. >> you don't expect this kind of back up and be lighter than usual on the day after the 4th of july. that is certainly not the case. 4 lanes are closed for a police investigation. san francisco police are there doing this investigation after a chase ended on the bay bridge early this morning or late last night. alex is there and he has more information on that coming up. what i need to tell you is don't use the lower deck because you are going to be caught in a lot of slow traffic. slow traffic is also spilling on the san francisco city streets.

this is not affecting the upper deck or the approach from the toll plaza. it's a light day coming into san francisco. a lot of people have the day off. so it is a nice drive from oakland to san francisco. san mateo bridge use that as alternate bridge. and the rest of the morning commute looks nice. looks like a holiday. a lot of people are taking the rest of the week off. let's go to steve. >> thank you. and a very other good cool colder morning. my toes are cold. and i've responded put some socks on. it's cold out there. we have very strong sea breeze. the fog bank yesterday. helped along by a system coming in up there. a little dip in the atmosphere. inland temperatures will come way down. sea breeze went from 15/20 yesterday to about 35.

so that's a screaming message on a cooler pattern. system that dropped down right there not very strong but lifted that fog up. areas of fog gusty west wind at times. temperatures dropping on the lows but the afternoon highs. very shallow fog bank. has no problem clearing coastal hills. low 50s. santa rosa. mainly mid 50s. everyone is really close. and you can see the fog right there. west southwest. gusts of 36. east southeast san jose 12. mostly sunny. there's a lot of low clouds. a few breaks here and mostly cloudy. a lot tropical moisture coming in. just took the turn there. signs it might come back next week. more fog, low clouds and on shore wind the direction the

wind is coming from the ocean. water temperatures are cooler. so inland temperatures coming down. windy at times. a colder morning and a cooler afternoon with temperatures 70s for many inland locations. fairfield, 90. today 79. 75 and low mid 70s for many. a few 80s farther inland. just too much in the way of clouds. san jose 75. and 67 san br uno. 64 in the city and 71 san mateo. foster city all in there as well. little warmup on saturday as that fog burns off. we'll be warmer inland sunday/monday. >> thanks, steve. a new twist in the ethics investigation of sus sended sheriff. -- suspended sheriff. >> and the reason an angry customer goes crazy and smashed

much bigger fog bank together that equals cooler temperatures. 50s for some by the coast. 50s, 70s around the bay. that all means temperatures coming down especially inland. >> it is 7:12. a new report released by french investigators a little over an hour ago shows pilots and faulty equipment are to blame for the 2009 air france crash. 228 people were killed on that flight 447. the flight ran into trouble several hours after taking off. french investigators say the two pilots never understood that the plane was in a stall. the plane plunged 38,000 feet into the atlantic. the bodies of the wreckage of the plane were discovered on

a sea bed in the mediterranean. relations between the two countries have been tense ever since. they have fallen out since the serian government started cracking down. >> iran says it has missiles aimed at 35 military bases throughout the middle east as well as targets ready to be launched within minutes of an attack. and a military commander made the threat. he says the purpose is to demonstrate iran's determination for national interest. during the drills, the missiles were aimed at mock ups of foreign military bases. and the new york times is now reporting that iran is storing oil it can't sell and ships anchored. because of international sanctions, many countries are refusing to buy oil.

according to the times, until iran can build more storage space, it has hacked a report for storing the access oil on the ships. >> about 45 minutes from now, president obama will arrive in ohio. he begins a two day, two state campaign swing through ohio and pennsylvania. those are two key states in the up coming november elections. >> reporter: this is just the latest visit from president obama to ohio and sources tell us he's opened more than a dozen campaign offices already. let me give you footage of the president departing for ohio just moments ago. general motors still has a large presence. the toledo suburb and the cleveland suburb of parma. we will hear references to the auto bailout.

at the hearing last friday he testified he had never spoken to nissan fran supervisor. but building inspection member told reporters that supervisor had discussed the situation with mayor lee. the question now is whether he will pursue the accusation at the next hearing on july 18th. chief legal advisor is facing marijuana and weapons charges. doug losak was stopped early for allegedly speeding on highway 101. the daily journal reports deputies smelled marijuana and found several grahams of marijuana in his car. also a gun and a locked firearm box. he has so far not commented about the arrest. arraignment is scheduled for august 28th. get so fed up with your cell phone service that you feel like going on a rampage?

this video captured a man thrashing a t-mobile store. he tears displays off the wall before hosing the place down with a fire extinguisher. he wanted a refund the company would not provide. >> 7:17. a search continues for a mountain lion that attacked a bay area man. fish and game crews spent the holiday combing an area near the river. a 67-year-old man was attacked while sleeping over the weekend. he is recovering from bites and scratches. they are looking for a female mountain lion. they are using dogs and motion sensor cameras to track the animal down. a southern california hiker is recovering in a hospital after being bitten by a rattle snake. 24-year-old abalynne was

bitten. the swelling had become too intense and had to sit down. >> it was swelling up and i still had my shoe on and i was afraid to take it off. i worried all of the venom would throw through my body. >> she was still a mile and a half from the nearest road. she had a cell phone and gps and able to tell units where she was located. she is expected to be released from the hospital soon. >> smart young lady to keep that phone with her. bay area temperatures are starting to cool down. meteorologist steve paulson will tell us whether things will heat up this weekend. >> and a lifeguard gets fired by wanting to save lives. why his heroic action turned out to be a bad thing. >> if you are drive being on the lower deck of the bay bridge, slow traffic because of an on going police investigation.

7:21. the 4th of july holiday proved tragic for a family in iowa. a 7 year old, 9 year old and 7 year old boy all drowned in a river yesterday in marshal town, iowa. they were swimming with a group of people but became separated from the group. >> a florida life guard has been fired for coming to a man's rescue. thomas lopez left his designated zone on monday to help a man who was struggling in the water. but the man was in an area that life guards are not paid to patrol. so he was fired right on the spot. >> if i see someone and i have the ability to help them. i'm not going to worry about jurisdiction or any other nonsense like that. >> a second life guard was fired when he told managers he would do the same thing. a third quit in solidarity.

at least 4 others gave notice. the life guards work for a private company. the company is to call 911 when someone is drowning outside of guarded zones. >> in redwood city record crowds would turn out for 4th of july celebrations. fire works returned after being canceled for the past two years. private companies, community group rz and individuals work together to fund the celebration. covered about 40,000 dollars in police and staff overtime. this is the clean up day. heading to the beach to clean up the debris. contains toxic chemicals that can be dangerous to fish and wildlife. one of the few cities that allows the sale of safe and sane fire works. >> day after 4th of july and there are a lot of green on those traffic maps but sal with the exception you could say that

one spot. >> the bay bridge because of an earlier police chase and investigation. we have a big mess out of san francisco. i want to show you the approach here out of san francisco to the lower deck of the bay bridge. looks like a bad afternoon commute and this is because the bridge lanes are closed for a bridge investigation. this investigation is said to be going on until 10:30. and look at all this. this is worse than a friday afternoon commute because there's only one lane open on the lower deck of the bay bridge. i want to show you our spot from near the island eastbound. the lanes are closed as san francisco police doing an investigation. only one lane is getting through and alex is on the scene. he's getting more information for us but not much has changed. they are still doing investigation. let's move along and take a look at the south bay. pretty good drive. little bit of slow traffic northbound 101.

and east bay 880 traffic is looking good. no major problems on the san moteeo bridge. >> a cooler pattern. nice to see twitter nation back with good information and most of them are saying it's colder out there. even if you have the sun. mostly cloudy skies out there. and temperatures even with the breeze are on the cooler side today. pretty good pick up on that fog bank as the system drops down. it will be with us today and tomorrow. 50s low. 51. everyone else is pretty close. redwood city at 52. east southwest wind. west southwest is sustained . they've had gusts of 36. a lot of low clouds working the way up the close. it's pretty much sold out. there's our little system. spin in the atmosphere . if i showed you the infrared you

gordon. what specifically are looking for? >> sunken vessels. there's been vessels that have been around since world war ii. they have barges and tugs that are leaking fuel. some led from battery acid and stuff like that. so i've partnered up with cal recycling and we're going to be going down. one of the 7 days of the year that has the lowest tide. >> we're looking at fancy equipment. is this sonar? >> i do have sonar. this is a night vision. like what we have on a helicopter. you can see at night with it. we'll be looking under stuff that you would normally not be able to see with the naked tools. we have a radiation detector on board. >> we've heard over the past

couple weeks there have been instances where people have stolen boats trying to get to brass rings and they'll pull it up and sink the boat. >> a lot of the sailboats have recycleable material on there. so a lot of the thieves have figured out a way to sink them, get some of the stuff and sink them. it's a big problem. we're going to address all that. a lot of the burglars that are living on the water are committing a lot of these crimes. by cleaning this up, we hope to take care of the crime problem and the environmental issues. >> let's step outside here. if we come outside of the vessel, you have guys out here. >> these folks represent cal recycling. he's graciously come by and represents the state to partner up with oakland pd. and todd has been awesome. cleaned up the delta and he can add more to what he's doing already and what he's going to do today.

>> how long are we going out for? >> about an hour, hour and a half. >> thanks for being with us this morning. around 8:00, we're going to be heading out and we'll be able to bring you those images of what we're seeing on the bottom of the floor and they have a huge crane. we'll keep you posted. ktvu channel 2 news . >> thank you. time 7:33. illegal 4th of july fire works made for a long busy night for fire crews across the bay area. firefighters say bottle rockets appear to have set off an overnight grass fire. it only burned about three quarters of an acre and no one was hurt but the flames trapped a father and his two young children who were watching fire works from a hillside. several occupy protestors were taken into custody after vandalizing police property. our cameras got a look at the damage. police say the suspects spray painted and

punctures the tires of a police car. antipolice graffiti on the walls. the arrests were made at 8:00 last night during an occupy march downtown. police plan to release more details later today. >> right now the search is on for a hit and run driver. claudine joining us live with what we know about what happened. >> police say the victim was riding his bike when he was hit and killed the driver didn't stop and police are searching for whoever is responsible. this happened around 9:30 last night outside of a walgreens store. police say after the driver hit the bicyclist the victim fell off. the car however just kept going and dragged that bike more than 50 yards. and we don't know much about the victim. police haven't released the name but they did tell us he was in his 40s.

it is a silver sedan and could have a broken windshield. anyone with any information is asked to call oakland police. >> thanks. new this morning a huge tree came crashing down in oakland causing major damage to a car. happened around 3:30 this morning. the brafrn muches -- branches snapped. looks like wind is to blame. they used chainsaws to cut the smaller pieces which would fed through a wood chipper. hoping you can help find her. sharon benassi may have walked away from kaiser hospital on tuesday afternoon. 65 years old. five-six and 180 pounds. if you see her , call the police department. >> oakland police have their hands full tracking down illegal

fire works shows. people in a number of neighborhoods were setting off fire works. extra police officers were on patrol. that did not stop the illegal shows. firefighters had two pumper trucks making rounds. 12 extra officers were on hand. and they spent much of the night confiscating illegal fire works. used a filter on help it distinguish between fire works and gunshots. >> they have great america great fire works. the big boom ones. >> the fire works were taken to the fire department to be destroyed. >> a disabled man who was the target of a vicious crime was one of the participants in the 4th of july parade. this is a picture of 28-year-old austin ridge waving to crowds. he was disabled ten years ago in a car

crash and he's been known for riding around in a tricked out t rshgs tricycle. the suspect is due in court this morning. >> it is 7:36. check in again with sal and keeping a close eye on the lower deck of the bay bridge. any progress there? >> not really. still very slow eastbound if you are driving from san francisco to oakland. the upper deck was not affected by this. but it was also slow getting into the city. the bay bridge not having a very good morning as we look at the approach from san francisco into the oakland area. this is 1st street as our photographer looks down the street. this cents backed up all -- this is backed up all the way down into the financial district. this looks like a friday before the 4th of july. only one lane is open on

the bridge. i've seen back ups like this on fridays before. eastbound bay bridge just east of the island. we have one lane getting through and that's it. this is going to be the same situation for another three hours or so. i would avoid the lower deck of the bay bridge. use the san mateo bridge as alternate. otherwise, we've had a pretty decent morning on the bay area commute. not a lot of slow traffic. slowing on 101 getting into sunniville and mountain view. 880 north and southbound looking good. san mateo bridge westbound caused a back up but eastbound is good. let's go to steve. >> thank you, sir. mostly cloudy to partly sunny. a big cloud bank . mark in pleasant hill said sunny there. parts of marin county.

even when there's a fog bank, there's pockets of sun. so the fog usually can make it for most locations and today it's ramped up. it will be cooler but sunny. it's going to be breezy today. some of the low clouds made it to san jose. but the fog getting helped along by a system from the north. there's still a little bit of fog there. when you get that system coming in. that lists it up around 2500 feet so it can charge inland. 50s on the temperatures. the sea breeze is the big news here. west, southwest gusting to 35. that is a howling sea breeze for not only fairfield but the delta. you can see that spin right there. that's what's sliding in. that will move in giving the fog -- on shore breeze. west wind or southwest. water

temperatures have come down a little bit. they were way down. came up and come down. northwest breeze. that helps keeps things cooler. windy at times. colder morning. that sea breeze and some of that fog. it will be in the 80s for some but temperatures a lot more 70s. 78 livermore, pleasant ton. breezy. 50s, 60s on the coast. a lot of low clouds to deal with. and low to mid 70s. five day forecast not much changed through friday. we see a warmup especially away from the coast, sun/monday. >> it is 7:40. the unusual reason some people are not promoted and has nothing to do with their work ethic. also cyber attacks on the rise. what key industries are being especially hard hit. this country was built by working people.

stocks are lower on wall street this morning. worries that china and europe are in worse shape than previously thought. and americans are spending at a slower pace. did take action to bolster their economies. the dow down 55. the nasdaq down 2 . poor retail sales reports from june are offsetting promising job numbers just out. 374,000 people filed for new job less benefits last week. that's down 14,000 from the week before. and it's the lowest

number in 6 weeks but continuing claims rose to 3.31 million. bad work habits are not the only reason someone does not get a promotion. 34% of boston's asked, they have body piercings. the second biggest reason, bad breath. wrinkled clothing tied for third. too much perfume, make up. messy cubical or being too tanned. >> a body was found in the water say they are planning his funeral. 27-year-old victor went missing after a baseball game last week. he was from southern california and worked as a corrections officer. he was in dodger blue for the game which helped police identify him yesterday. >> we were told the description

matched everything that we've been looking for all week. >> his friend added that the family plans to take the body back to southern california soon. the cause of death has yet to be determined pending an autopsy. three of the four children missing have been found safe. but the search continues for a missing teenage girl tied to this child abuse case. he was rushed to children's hospital after he nearly drowned. the boy is still listed in critical condition and arrested mother, stepfather and baby sitter on child abuse charges. a 16-year-old girl in their care is still missing. she's been identified as aliah marine johnson. >> the skies were clear last night for the 4th of july fire works show. this was the scene at

aadequate i can park. hundreds of thousands of people turned out for the show. 6,000 explosives were used which lasted more than 20 minutes. and people lined the shore line to welcome back a big fire work celebration. first time since 2009 there's been a fire work show. residents and the business community worked together to raise $80,000. and that covered 100% of the costs. >> i think that it's obvious that many people miss the fire works and i'm so very glad that they are back. it brings the community together. >> before the fire works show people gathered in downtown for parade. the mayor says about 10,000 people turned out. the city's 4th of july committee says it's already raising money for next year. that was not the only

spectacle. no one lives on kim ball island so firefighters let it burnout. illegal fire works lighted a brushfire. charred two and a half acres and came close to homes. had to call other departments for help. explain their frustration. >> many internet service providers have warned users of the problem started more than a year ago for advertising scam to hack hundreds of thousands computers and install malware. most people have had the wall ware removed but the rest will be without service next week. a new report from homeland security is raising concerns

about the internet. cyber terrorism increased in recent years. stacy is live in washington with the online threat. >> reporter: hey, mike. and i heard you are liking with malware. that has a lot to do with the story. a lot of us out here in the east coast had a dress rehearsal. no power, no water. ours were caused by storms but imagine if a cyber attack took out power or water or a nuclear system. that's what this report is addressing. a deliberate attack by cyber terrorists. there were 9 such incidents in 2009. in 2011, 198 reports of these cyber attacks. dhs says the most common threat is called spear fishing. that's when computer system is attacked and the attacker gets sensitive information.

investigation tells us the driver being pursued opened fire on officers. no one was hit. we can probably see some of those evidence markers in the middle of the roadway. the real problem here is for drivers. traffic barely moving very slow here on the lower deck. only two lanes are open heading into oakland right now. everything started around 1:30 this morning when officers saw a car speeding. the crash crashed here on the bridge and that's when shots were fired. a source says the driver being chased tossed his gun over the bridge and into the bay. this is a very complex crime scene that's causing a major back up. the bay bridge on ramps are even slow into san francisco. and we talked with drivers there who are frustrated. >> i'm already late for work. >> so are you going to try to do it still? >> i have patience to do. >> the driver being chased this morning was eventually taken into custody and sources also

it is 8:22. homes are still without power this morning. the hardest hit areas from last weekend storms include the states of maryland, virginia and new versy. instead of enjoying the holiday, many residents say they have little to celebrate. besides dealing with the heat and lack of power, neighborhoods are now reporting an increase in crime. >> thieves are starting to target the area because they know the alarm systems are down. we had a resident who had their vehicle stolen out of their driveway. >> the baeth toll is at 26. the storms knocked out power to more than 4 million homes. utility companies say the damage is equivalent to a hurricane. >> our weather here in the bay area will change a little bit today first want to go over to sal. one lane open on the lower deck. >> that's right.

eastbound lower deck one lane open. looks like they are letting more cars go through. it does which hadle down to one lane -- widdle down to one lane. police are going to be out there until 10:30. hopefully that will change. sometimes they do these things and get done faster than they think they will. for now they say it's going to be open at 10:30 this morning. a long time to have slow traffic getting over to oakland. the approaches to san francisco are terrible. they've had to call out parking patrol officers and really slow not only here but all the way down first street and up to harrison street trying to get on to the bridge. it's very slow. san francisco northbound 10 1 that is backed up like an afternoon commute all the way out to the 280 inter change. this is having a chain reaction affect on everything. if you want to take other parts of the commute, i want to mention the

stocks are mixed in early trading on wall street this morning after being closed yesterday. signs americans are spending at a slower pace. but mortgage buyer freddy mac says rates have fallen to record lows. dropping to 3.62%. live look down 26 and nasdaq is up 5. s&p down 3. poor retail sales reports from june offsetting promising jobs numbers. reported just this morning 374,000 people filed for new job less benefits last week. that's down 14,000 from the week before. and it's the lowest number in 6 weeks. but continuing claims rose to 3.31 million. not the kind of news you want to hear about the jobs

outlook. a majority of economists surveyed say they think the unemployment rate will stay above normal for some time. 56% think it will be 2016 at the earlier before the unemployment rate returns to 6%. the national unemployment rate is currently 8%. and california's rate is above 10%. a normal level is 5 and 6%. >> eastbound lanes of the bay bridge remain closed at this time. and it will be hours before traffic on the lower deck returns to normal. alex has been following the developing story all morning long. and joins us live now. >> good morning. this was all a chase that ended here on the bay bridge. early morning chase involving the chp. officer did just tell me that it was one chp officer who opened fire here. we've been told by a source

close to the investigation that the driver being pursued fired shots at officers as well. no one was hit by gunfire. traffic barely moving here on the lower deck. two lanes are open at this time. everything started around 130 this morning when officers spotted this car that was speeding. they chased that car on to the bridge. eventually that car crashed in the middle of lanes. that's when shots were fired. the driver being chased tossed his gun over the bridge and into the bay. of course this is a complicated crime scene and causing major delays. drivers trying to go east >> i'm already late for work. >> you are going to try to do it still? >> of course, i got patience to do. >> the driver being chased was taken into custody.

we also do understand in speaking with the chp he did suffer injuries. but we don't believe those are gunshot injuries. we believe those are injuries he suffered during the crash that was the end of the pursuit. there was another woman in the car as well. san francisco police as we come back out here live are conducting this investigation. the crime scene technicians have been called out here. to have an outside agency investigate this apparent officer involved shooting that took place in the bay bridge this morning. multiple lanes shut down on the lower deck and according to the chp, those lanes will remain closed until 10:30 this morning. if you are driving and want to head from san francisco to the east bay, find alternate route. >> good morning. that's absolutely correct. i recommend going down to the san mateo bridge out of san francisco. head south on 101 or 280 and

illegal shows. firefighters also had to pulmo-- had two pumper trucks. busy night for police in palo alto to patrol neighborhoods and spent much of the night confiscating fire works. >> they have some like great america great fire works. the big boom ones. >> the fire works were taken to the fire department to be destroyed. and breaking news right now in the trayvon martin shooting case. the judge has granted george zimmermann bail. bond is set at a million dollars. that means he needs to post 10% of that or $100,000. he has been in jail since the judge revoked his original $150,000 bail last month for lying about how much he could pay in bond.

weapons. until iran can build more storage space on land, had to resource to store the extra oil on ships. >> rain and cooler temperatures could provide relief to colorado wildfires. that fire is 90% contained. if the weather cooperates, full containment could come as soon as sunday. destroyed 350 homes and two people dead. being called the most destructive wildfire in colorado history. the weather is a concern for firefighters trying to contain the quail fire in the state of utah. forecasted winds could fan the flames further. 2,000 acres burned and 325 homes remain under evacuation orders. at this point the fire is only 5% contained. >> 8:53. an investigation is underway after a body was found in the russian river. deputies believe the body had

all right. one more time let's check in with sal. two hour delays for people trying to get to the lower deck of the bay bridge. >> it is too. i'm looking at the latest information. it is very very slow. we can't really tell you how long. but i wouldn't get on the lower deck if i were you. let's take a look at the commute. may have opened one more lane which will cut down on delays but still not good for the police investigation that is blocking at least three lanes of the bay bridge. let's go to the san francisco approaches. very slow on first street all over the city this is affected 101 which is slow to the 280 inter change. alternate route is the san mateo bridge. go down through the area. slow traffic near the airport but after that still a good drive over to 92 eastbound to hayward. let's go to steve >> bigger fog bank today,
