the crimes that he committed. >> reporter: the district attorney has a week to decide if it wants to retry william lynch on the lesser assault charges. more tonight at 10:00. live in san jose, robert handa, ktvu channel 2 news. we have new information tonight in the shooting death of a man accused of being a pimp to a san francisco teen. two more team are now -- people are now facing charges. ktvu's ken pritchett is live where he learned about a video that shows the suspects together before the deadly shooting. ken? >> reporter: in this complaint, very detailed documents we obtained today, investigators say it was the father of the girl who fired the deadly shot and the father was with the two men who were arraigned. and the documents say there is fbi video that shows the three men together, one holding a gun

an hour before the killing. >> reporter: it was here on june 4 where calvin sneed was gunned down in his car. first charged in the murder where barry gilton and lupe mercado. parents who prosecutors blame him for trying to drag their daughter into a life of prostitution. today in court, antonio gilton, and alfonso williams were also arraigned on charges. >> i have had a short conversation with him, he is an innocent man. >> reporter: in court documents it is alleged two rental cars linked to the suspects were used in the crime and the men waited for calvin sneed to arrive at the crime scene. they claim lupe mercado said to him what would you do if it were your daughter. >> i think that when it is all

said and done people will understand that my client is a mother who was concerned about the safety and the danger her daughter was in but she did not commit murder. >> reporter: the parents of the teen and the two men arraigned today pleaded not guilty to all charges. in san francisco, ken pritchett, ktvu channel 2 news. we now know more about the man who was arrested after a car crash and a police shoot out that left the bay bridge in gridlock. happened early this morning and involved a man who is 29 years old. from what we understand, he has been in trouble before and on patrol for human trafficking. according to the chp, he was speeding on the lower deck of the bridge this morning when he crashed into a guard rail. he exchanged gunfire with

officers and then tossed his gun into the bay. the investigation left many stuck for hours. >> i have no choice. i have to get to work. >> reporter: >> the man who triggered the traffic nightmare now faces charges. car fire over night let up an oakland neighborhood. >> a ktvu news crew arrived on the scene, flames shot out of that parked car around 1:00 a.m. this morning. the flames reached 20 feet into air. a bus caught fire this afternoon but the quick thinking driver kept all passengers safe. the driver noticed smoke rising from the hood of the bus.

he pulled pulled over. he rushed everyone off the bus and called 911. no one was hurt. we have new information about a bike rider killed last night by a hit-and-run driver. ktvu's deborah is live now. . >> reporter: the driver sid see the bicyclist. -- the driver did see the bicyclist. the car hits him and keeps going. >> reporter: just before 10:00 p.m. last night, police found a mangled bicycle in the street and the man in his 4ths who had -- in his 40s who had been riding it. >> body right there. >> reporter: she saw the impact and how badly the bicyclist was

injured. >> reporter: she leaves the driver was gunning for the victim -- she believes the driver was gunning for the victim. police do not have evidence. >> after the collision the driver accelerated and drug the guy for 100 feet before it fell off the vehicle and then continued without stopping. >> reporter: investigators will review any surveillance video they can find. so far the car description is vague. a dark color older make sedan. others in the neighborhood wish they could help nab the driver. >> i wish i knew. >> reporter: would you talk about it? >> yeah.

i would. because i am an honest guy, you see. the victim did not have i.d. but using finger prints they were able to identify him and now in the process of identifying the family. there is a $10,000 reward for information leading to the rest in the case. ktvu channel 2 news. we have new information tonight following yesterday's crash on san jose's highway 37. the man killed in the crash has been identified. witnesses saw his white truck weaving in the north bound leavens highway 87, not 37, 87, just before 2:00 yesterday afternoon. the truck crashed and flipped over. he died at the scene. the chp says it does not appear drugs or alcohol were a factor and no other vehicles were involved. despite warnings from police they would crack down on illegal fireworks during the

forth of july it appears many people were not listening. we captured plenty of illegal fireworks lighting up the sky. smoke could be seen and heard for hours last night. despite that the police department today is calling their tactics a success, even though not one arrest was made. they measure their success in the fact there were no injuries or deaths reported. firefighters rescued people and pets when a fire tore threw a community today. a grass fire broke out two hours ago, raced behind 11 11 homes. fire crews put out the flames within 4 minutes. no word on the cause of the fire. one resident told ktvu they saw someone using power yard tools

which may have sparked the fire. fireworks are blamed for a brush fire. firefighters have been on the scene all day putting out hot spots. illegal fireworks set off last night's fire, burned three acres of dry brush. officials say because of budget cuts they had to call for help from other fire jurisdictions. and firefighters say bottle rockets appear to have set off a grass fire. about 3/4 of an acre burned and no one hurt but the flames briefly trapped a father and his children who were watching fireworks. tragedy struck during the forth of july holiday when a toddler was shot and killed during a drive by. the three-year-old was gunned down last night. they were returning from a

fireworks show when someone opened their on their suv. officials believe gangs may be involved and the father may have been the target. relatives say the dad is not a gang member. >> whoever is watching this, whoever is hearing this, you got my nephew, you got him and you have kids, you should know, you should know you don't do that. you don't hurt kids. >> deputies have no description of the gunman. officials may be on course to build a homeless shelter. planners voted to map out an area where a homeless shelter could be built. the area starts at first street to pleasant hill road and surrounded by highway 24. that vote in accordance with a law requiring cities to designate a zoning district.

the poker tables are ready to go but a new casino in san jose is setting empty. ktvu's janine de la vega explains when it might finally open its doors. >> reporter: i am standing in the parking lot of the new casino. you can see it is empty. the owner of the new 16 story casino has been running into hurdles with the city and that left hundreds of workers in limbo. >> this is our life right now. >> reporter: living out of boxes in storage. they moved from hawaii in february and soon after he was hired at the new casino but three months have passed and the casino remains closed. >> financially crushing. you know, luckially i have savings -- luckily i have savings. the doors are padlocked

officials are optimistic it will open by the end of the month. reporting live from san jose, janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. new jobless figures released show a slight improvement in unemployment numbers. 374,000 people people filed last week. that is down 14,000. and it is the lowest number since april. claims rose to 3.1 million. the jobs report is due out tomorrow. mortgage rates fell today to new lows. the average 30 year fixed home loan is going for 3.622 pest. that is down from 3.66% last week. and the positive economic news didn't resonate on wall street. the dow is down 47 to 12,896. the nasdaq is up .04 at 2,976.

a new poll shows president obama's job approval ratings are inching up in california. 55% approve of the job he is doing. that number climbed from september. his highest rating was 65% in california in march of 2009. governor jerry brown signed a reorganization law designed to stream line state government. >> seems like it will set the stage for greater transparency, it will help agencies folks on their mission. >> it cuts the number of agencies from 12 to 10. the plan won't result in any

immediately cost savings. city offices could be back open in antioch 5 days a week. they are considering ree. elementing a 40 hour -- ree. lamenting a 4 hour work week. city hall and other offices have been closed on fridays for the last three years. it may become easier to park in some neighborhoods but it comes with a price. they are considering a plan to issue parking permits for certain neighborhoods. a permit could cost $45 to $95 a year and the fine for those caught parking without a permit could cost $55. hundreds of whales have been spotted in southern california, including the blue
