july 10th, i am pam cook. >> let's check weather and traffic and steve is here to tell you what to expect. >> pam made me laugh. >> i know. >> we do have fog, low clouds and temperatures, it will be warm to hot, temperatures in the 90s for some, closer to coast and bay and 60s to 70s. it looks good getting up to the caldecott, no major problems and it is a nice drive, 80 westbound also looks good, let's go back to the desk. we are following developing news coming in from santa rosa, a man has non-life threatening injuries, alex savage is out there with how this is not the first outbreak of gun violence near this particular bar. alex?

>> reporter: it happened just a couple of months back and this morning i was able to speak with the owner briefly and he didn't want to talk on camera but he didn't respond when i asked him if he was concerned about two recent shootings in just a matter of months. police are still investigating and we are told that man's injuries are non-life threatening. the shooting happened on santa rosa avenue. at this point it is unclear if the man was shot inside or outside the restaurant but we know if there were dozens of customers. we interviewed witnesses as well ann's period to be conscious taking over the santa rosa hospital and being treated this morning. no updates from his condition at this point. and another recent shooting, back in december one man was killed, when a teen opened fire

in a passing lot. i have not been able to speak with supervisor and at this point no arrests have been made. a man was shot during a robbery attempt and it happened around midnight near 14th avenue. he walked a block to somebody's home told them he had been shot. they took him to the hospital and he is expected to survive. police are still searching for two suspects. an investigation is underway into an early morning house fire in saratoga. they found nobody was home when the fire started just a few hours ago. lorraine is outside -- lorraine is outside the fire with information. >> reporter: so farther not calling the fire suspicious and they are cleaning up the scene so investigators can do their

work. they think the one-alarm fire started here in the garage and you can see the roof collapsed. several neighbors called around 2:00 a.m. and when they arrived it was fully involved. there was no nearby evac wakes because of the large space around the homes on this street and the lack of winds. at one point the fire did become a hazard when it went into the attic of this large ranch style home. the chief tells us there are pros and cons when fighting a fire in a home. >> sometimes you know the fire does not grow as quickly and we can get there, but if we get a call for a home, it is bad and that means it has been burning

campaign cash and mitt romney raised more than $106 million in june and president barack obama and the democratic party raised $71 million in june. the obama campaign is warning supporters that if it continues to be out spent, that could cost him the election. i know it is early but how is the east shore doing, sal? >> i am looking at the list and we don't have a lot going on, dave and pam which is good. let's look at it, it is getting more crowded as you can see, traffic is moving, bay bridge toll plaza pulling up. i don't see anything building up and as you move to the santa clara valley north 101 because of that stalled car earlier and traffic is moving better because they have moved the car

on to the left-hand side. now pressure is building and some inland temperatures are building so it will be a warm to hot day. this warmer air coming in is squashing the fog so it is a low fog bank and it is below 1,000 today. some of that fog is right down on the deck so be careful because it reduces visibility. it will be warm but not even close to records. most of the records were set 1951. santa rosa 103 but 104 in candidacy field. not each close. 109 back in 2002, yesterday it is stating out so cool, a

little warmer towards san jose. high pressure system is sliding back to the west and that will allow inland temperatures to warm up and it puts the foot on the fog send it right down on the deck and there is no northeast winds and around the bay 70s and you will find 90s to 100 degrees inland. it passes reloads and goes back to the middle of the country as the area of low pressure settles but 90s to 100s, clear lake, antioch brentwood 70s in alameda, morgan hill, gilroy 87, santa clara 87, 60s on the coast, upper 60s and 84 baltimore so not so about there. the coast will be there and it will start to wrap things up

u.s. government the antioch barber was killed last month. friends and family remember him from this candle light vigil. they described him as a man with a big heart who always tried to help people in need. >> i want to scream and cry,. >> police say they were forced to shoot gonzalez after he came out of his home and fired at police officers. gonzalez's widow says, the couple was looking forward to the birth of their first child and he has no emotional problems. the body was found about 5:30 sunday night right along a walking trail on 31st avenue. the coroner has not released the name of a man who is said to be in his 50s. police have given no details as to why they believe that death

the fog for some, temperatures warm up really fast. this warm air, some higher elevations or even warmer, there is some very warm air sneaking in and it will start to muscle its way through the fog. inland temperatures will warm up and i am only going 68 in the city. 46 sonoma county airport, it is a cool morning, even though it starts to go under so. inland temperatures to near 100 degrees, they stay in the 60s and 70s and there is a huge difference. it will be warm to hot inland, big cool down for the upcoming weekend. microsoft says computers

celebrating that and we will have all the business news coming up. we will smile and say good morning to you, thank you for joining us, it is tuesday july 10th, i am dave clark. and time now 6:30, we are following breaking news out of martinez, firefighters are on the scene of a house fire. channel 2 reporter christian captain joins us with what is happening out there, christian? >> let's get right to these pictures and this is still an active fire. that fire we are hearing is from a natural gas line under this location and we are at 9:10 walnut street and you can see this house is just a charcoal shell and the fire started at 4:00 this morning. martinez says by 4:40 they had the fire under control and the fire was out in the main portion of the house and you

can see that gas line is still burning and they are still trying to grimp that -- grimp that power off. they tried to turn the gas off one time and that the leak appears to be from one location and they are trying to get access to that location. we are learning that this is the second time this exact house, this exact property has burned in just the last six months and this fire was in january. they say the house was badly burned and now burning yet again. so we are trying to find a little more information and we have achieve here from contra coster fire and we will talk to get some details on what happened here. with this fire or if they have an idea on how it started what the source of ignition was, we will try to talk more about the previous fire and that gas line is still burning, pg&e is

working to get that gas line grimped -- crumped off and we will continue to bring you the latest developments but right now that is the latest in martinez, christian captain ktvu channel 2 morning news. in santa rosa we are learning more about a shooting which handed out side of a popular bar overnight. alex savage has been out there since 4:30 and he says this is not the first time they have had a shooting at that restaurant. >> reporter: one man this morning was wounded by gunfire, although we understand his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. an evidence technician just arrived and we began to process the scene. the shooting happened at this mexican restaurant and it is unclear if the man was shot and we do know dozens of customers

were here at this time. they interviewed witnesses out here and the victim appeared conscious as he was transported to the hospital. this morning it comes at this same bar and restaurant back in december, when another teen was wounded here in the parking lot and that followed an argument inside the bar. this morning i was able to catch up with the owner of the bar and restaurant and he would not talk with me on camera and i did talk with him and ask him if he has any concerns about the recent shootings in just a matter of months outside of his place and he did not answer me when i asked him if he has any concerns about the shooting. they are gathering evidence as they try and search for a shooter and they are still working to get more information from santa rosa police and we have more phone calls but at this point they have not announced any arrests in the

shooting. alex savage, ktvu channel 2 morning news. we are early this morning after a late night debate and albany city leaders are developing uc property which has been tar getted for protests. two people were out in albany and many of them are with the occupy the farm movement and they are protesting that land which will bring a whole foods store and 175 units of senior housing to land near the track. however a uc spokesperson said this will benefit the community. >> anybody who lives here knows it is hard to find quality food shopping and it addresses a serious need in the community and if it works in the community, it will work for us. this is just about the tiny area where they want to put the whole foods and what they are doing is chopping it up again. >> they have been planning the

police presence and patrolling and so far there is no sign of the occupy the farm protesters. they are finishing up in the convicted killer hans riser. he was convicted of the murder of his wife nina, and the lawsuit was filed on behalf of his children. he has subpoenaed his children to appear in court and they are living with their grandmother in russia. two people were wounded on mcarthur boulevard and 108th avenue. both victims are expected to survive. the shooting happened during an attempted robbery. police have interviewed several people who witnessed the shooting while riding on an "a" c transit bus but so far there have been no arrests. we have new information on

the five victims outside jack london square. you will see how mayor jean quan and governor jerry brown are responding coming up at 6:35. >> several fires are burning in northern california including a fire in the mendocino national forest which burned more than 10,000 acres. it is only 10% contained and that fire has forced the closure of several campgrounds and some homes that have been evacuated as well. firefighters still battling a wildfire in call luisa county. -- callous county the two fires have merged into one. so far no homes have been threatenedden we will bring you a live report from the fire lines coming up in our severe hour.

antioch, and along the stretch, it is around the venetia bridge to walnut creek. along the bay plaza, there is a backup and it is backed up especially in those middle lanes to 880. and there is some fog incase you are driving on highway 101 and highway one, daily city, passive can, there is some thick fog there. i mean for some it will be a cool day, temperatures 60s by the coast and low clouds have made it to san jose. another run off, this may be one of those east bay warmups more than anybody else and it will be warmer for some but not by the coast and they are dealing with a lot of low clouds and fog. warm air a lott, high temperatures in the 70s and it's not going to take long if you are going to start warming

up. but there is some dense fog. thick fog coast and bay, sunny and warmer for many and again i think the biggest jump will be concord antioch, 60s by the coast, it will be 45 degrees between some of the highs and some well inland. fairfield 54 but mike in cordelia let me know there is a roaring sea breeze out there and there is a lot of signs pointing against it and i am leaning on one forecast model which warms things up away from the coast. the record was 109 but nowhere near record-setting territory. there is a northerly breeze for some, mostly calm for other locations, high pressure is just coming back for a couple of days starting friday and we will start a cool down over the upcoming weekend and 60s for

have been started underground. the flames are still going. you can see it with your own eyes. they are trying to shut down that line and we will keep you posted on what is going on there. one man has life-threatening injuries after being shot outside the cantina just hours ago this morning. this is a second shooting in less than a year. a 23-year-old man died after being shot outside the restaurant in december. a restaurant in albany was damaged and officials believe it was started in den page on san pablo avenue. no injuries were reported. it is an early morning house fire in saratoga. she just spoke to a neighbor, lorraine? >> reporter: of course she is thankful nobody was hurt taking

a look at the damage behind me. it was just a black frame and no roof on the garage, the fire spread and the owner said she was doing some renovation. she is on the scene and they called santa clara and when firefighters arrived it was fully involved. no nearby evacuations because of the large space around the home and because of the lack of wind. it spread to the attic in the main section of this large ranch style home. it can be outside only. >> we woke up to the sirens and two voices and saw a lot of billowing light smoke so we came out. we were onlookers. we were watching the fire department, and gosh, they had about 6 fire trucks and the

the nation. 50s for some, it is a cool morning, there is still a westerly breeze, it is collapsing and antioch brentwood, they will get hot and the difference in the temperatures 60s to 100, inland fog should burn off but there is a sea breeze kicking up and 62 to 99, it will be hot inland and a little low drops in on friday, and that starts a significant trend for the upcoming weekend. a popular fast food chain wants to grow, it may not be a good fit. a fatal police shooting one year ago. now there is word of a critical decision of a police officer involved. man: there's a cattle guard, take a right.

. bay citizen reports officers james fired his went bond in self-defense. the officer said he was forced to shoot hill after hill came after him with a knife. and a hearing will determine a second suspect of a man and the killing of his two sons will be brought here to the bay area. they announced suspected gang member wilfredo reyes. he was with edwin ramos when tony balogna and his sons michael and matthew bologna was shot to death in 2000 -- when tony balogna and his sons michael and matthew bologna was shot to death. reyes is the real killer. he followed a tip from federal immigration agents. they strengthened to a storm
