why occupy protesters are not happy about what will be coming to albany. and a shooting outside a popular restaurant and bar. you can see police are still doing their investigation. we'lltel you why this is not the first time police have investigated an outbreak of gun violence here. and an outbreak in a house fire in saratoga. what neighbors are telling us right now. "mornings on 2" starts right now. well, good morning to you. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> good morning. i'm tori campbell. it's tuesday, july 10th. breaking news in martinez, pg&e crews are working to pinch a national gas line at the scene of -- at the scene of a house fire.

christien kafton has more. >> reporter: yeah, we got here about a half-hour ago. if you look to the left, there's still active flames here coming from a natural gas line being fed by gas right now. if you look to the left, you can see the crew. we're hearing they are gonna be getting ready to try to dig through the driveway. we do have some video of that fire here that we shot a little bit earlier. the fire, we're learning, started about 4:00 this morning. martinez firefighters had it under control by 4:40 but those flames persisted because of the gas line. firefighters say there's very little danger here. the gas line is broken somewhere under ground. pg&e needs to pinch off the line. they say this is similar to having the gas on in the home. the gas is coming up but burning off. it's just on a bigger scale. this is also the same home that was involved in a house fire in

january. it was known for its christmas decorations, this home. the fire destroyed that in january. ktvu came here to try to help the who lived there. we've learned the house has been vacant since that time. we're learning also that the house had been scheduled for demolition. if you look over there, you can see a big excavator over there. we've learned that the crew was here yesterday to demo this home. they found that the gas meter was still here. they called pg&e. again, firefighters say pg&e was out here yesterday, removed that gas meter, for the crews were set to work on their demolition work here today. you can see the extensive damage to that excavator here. no word yet when, in fact, that demolition will take place. now, the big thing, of course, is the investigation. we've learned that investigations will be cometh out here because -- coming out here. because if the house was unoccupied what was the source

of ignition. but the thing is, minimal danger here because the gas is burning as it comes up. no danger of an explosion like we saw in san bruno. we'll continue to monitor the situation and bring you the latest. for now we're live here, back to you. >> thank you. we're following overnight news 234 santa rosa. police still investigating a shooting -- in santa rosa. police still investigating a shooting outside a restaurant and bar. alex savidge has more. >> reporter: well, there have been some recent problems here at this restaurant. investigators are out here pro setting another crime scene. a gunfire broke out outside the restaurant early this morning. you can see this is an evidence technician dusts this truck for fingerprints. one man was hit this morning --

dusting this truck for fingerprints. one man was hit this morning. but he is not in grave condition. the shooting happened at:00 a.m. on santa rosa avenue at this mexican restaurant. it's unclear whether he was shot inside or outside of the house. but there were suddenly dozens of customers at the time. the victim as we saw him appear, he was conscious and appeared to this -- appeared that way taken to the hospital. back in december, one man was killed and another wounded when a teenager eached fire here in the parking lot. all of that followed and argument that happened inside of the restaurant. as we come out here live, the investigation continuing. we're hoping to get more information as santa rosa police update their investigation. as far as a motive for the shooting, that remains unclear

some city college of san francisco administrators will meet to discuss the leadership and a -- leadership and money savings plan. the commission that acredits california's colleges say the school is at financial risk and has leadership issues. the school has just eight months to come up with an action plan or it will lose its accreditation. >> we already have a pretty severe austerity budget right now. we have eliminated classes for the fall. >> we haven't had a raise for five years and for the last few years, we've been reaching into our pocket to help keep the college afloat. >> if the school is forced to close some 90,000 students would be affected.

natural gas line we've been looking at. what's going on? >> reporter: well, in the last 20 minutes or so, pg&e has managed to cap off the lines. if you look up, you can see this this large ladder truck the scene here trying to put out those hot spots. this is something they couldn't do before because the gas was still feeding the fire. let's go to some video. the fire started here at about 4:00 in martinez. the contra costa fire says they had it under control by 4:30 but flames were still emerging from the gas line. firefighters tell me there was very little danger since the gas line was broken under ground. pg&e had to get under ground to get to it. there was not a lot of danger because the gas was burning off which is what you want it do

new this morning, a massachusetts man charged with plotting to fly remote controlled model planes packed with exblowsives at the pentagon and u.s. capitol plans to plead guilty to two charges. that's according to the attorneys for reswan furtaf. he was arrested after federal agents posing as al qaeda members delivered materials he reportedly requested, including grenades, machine guns and what he believed were pack ket of explosives. his toys say as part of the agreement -- packet of explosives. he says -- he says this was all part of an agreement he had.

we're told the man who was rounded this horning is 0-year- old jose chavez shot in the knee and chest -- 30-year-old jose chaves shot in the knee and the chest. and two men were arrested in the parking lot of restaurant. a short time ago, investigators climbed up on the roof of this place searching forested. they didn't find anything -- for evidence. they didn't find anything, it didn't appear. dozens of customers were inside at the time of the shooting. santa rosa police cleared the restaurant. officers arrested two men a 34- year-old man and 23-year-old man. now, this morning's vie license comes -- violence comes after more violence that happened back december here. we talked to a friend of a man killed in that december shooting. he didn't want to talk on camera or show his face but he
