the scene. the first shooting was at 9:30 a.m. officials say another victim was shot later nearby. investigators say at least two of the victims were taken to area hospitals and all three are expected to survive. the shootings are under investigation. at this point it is unclear if the two are related. police are searching searching for a homicide suspect after a woman was found shot to death. the coroner removed the body this morning from the motel. guests say they heard gunfire around 3:00 a.m. and a lot of screaming from a room on the second floor. >> i heard the gun shots. the pop. you know, pop, pop. like i said i looked out the window, wow! heard people screaming and yelling. >> a motive is not known. investigators say they have few

leads. in napa police arrested a 36-year-old woman on charges she stabbed her boyfriend during a domestic dispute. officers responded at 10:30 p.m. last night. she stabbed him several times with a kitchen knife. he was taken to the hospital where he died. new information on a fast burning wildfire. it is more than doubled in size and containment has been cut in half. the fire started yesterday afternoon. >> reporter: we are standing here, not the greatest site. you can see the smoke building off in the distance. we just got back from the fire lines, from ground zero, i could tell you we were there when the fire started and now there is concern for two different communities because the fire is burning in two

complex fire that is 80% contained. the fire charred 4,000 acres. they hope to have the under control by the weekend. police have now identified a bike rider killed july 4 in a hit and run. he was hit while riding his bicycle about 9:30 p.m. at night. a car hit him, dragged him 50 feet and drove off. investigators say the driver may have intentionally targeted him. he died that scene. police are searching for the driver and offering a $10,000 reward for the person's arrest. a development involving a hazmat situation at a local post office. it is on ambore street. ktvu's paul chambers tells us what happened and what the situation is right now. >> reporter: about 45 minutes ago the last of the rescue

crews cleared the scene. a couple blocks were closed down as crews worked to figure out what was going on inside the post office. >> reporter: this morning residents were told to shelter in place as emergency crews tried to figure out what got people to cough. >> they said there was a bio hazard, danger from the post office. people started to feel sick. >> reporter: firefighters say they complained of airitation in their -- irritation in their eyes, nose and throat. >> the crew noticed a odor, they backed out also and called hazmat. >> reporter: resdened were told to stay inside -- residents were told to stay inside and the streets were closed.

hands over their hearts. >> reporter: he is his nephew. he was 17 years old when he joined the marines in 1942. he was 19 when his plane went down on april 22, 1944. he and six others were killed. his remains were buried at the plane crash site and forgotten till paper work was found. now 68 years later, he is getting a proper military funeral. >> emotional. choking up a little bit. feel pretty good that finally his story has come to an end. >> reporter: the remains traveled to a sunnyvale funeral home and from there will go to the cemetery in san bruno. >> not our every day funeral

produces today. the test is one way scientists are learning more about energy. solar flair erupted from the sun yesterday. what you are seeing here is video from a similar flair in april. a solar storm is expected to arrive saturday. they expect minimal impact. the storm is part of the sun's normal 11 year cycle that is supposed to reach a peak next year. they say you can never be too rich or thin. researchers say it may be more dangerous to be under weight than to be obese. researchers surveyed 51,000 people from 18-90 and they found underweight people had a higher mortality risk. severe obesity was only a significant risk if the person also had diabetes and hypertension. the fda has a plan to help

air conditioner in your car, hard to pump out enough cool air to keep it going. temperatures trending down. outside, fog around the coast. the fog fills in tonight. these were the highs from today. look at antioch, 102. livermore down, they were 104 yesterday. they got to 98 today. temperatures on the mild side around the bay. cooler and right now the fog is streaming in and that the be the mechanism for cooling on friday. tomorrow morning, 6:00 a.m., fog from san bruno to hayward, oakland. creeping in to concord, livermore valley as well. we will watch that. that means a significant cool down. forecast highs, all the 90s and 100s, they are pushed east. that is what you expect.
