inland about 10-15 degrees. here is sal. >> traffic is moving along pretty well on highway 4 although it is a little busy through antioch and concord and bay point it's not all that bay. getting a look at the live picture of the bay bridge. some slowing of the cash lanes but otherwise we are doing well. let's go back to the desk. topping our news right now overnight news the search is on for the person that opened fire overnight outside of an east bay walmart. christien kafton is at the pittsburg walmart with all the activity that happened in the store parking lot. christien. >> reporter: the sun is coming up now. we are getting a clear look at our crime scene and getting new information about the vehicle that apparently was used in this shooting here. the crime scene tape at this walmart parking lot is still up at this hour. we have seen a lot of security patrolling the area here. investigator looking for the gunman that opened fire in this parking lot. the victim was shot right here

in this area. that man was loaded into an ambulance and rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his face and leg. 911 calls rolled in around 11:00 last night that shots had been fired in the parking lot. witnesses say a victim was on the bicycle and a car started chasing them through the parking lot. the shooter fired five or six rounds. people living in the area told me this morning they are surprised to hear about that shooting. >> sr. sur -- very surprised. usually nothing like that happens here. >> reporter: coming back out to the live shot, you can see security in the area we have seen that vehicle patrolling this lot all morning long. in the last 20 minutes we have learned people are looking for a silver suv. we also have syndications they may have been looking at surveillance video. we'll continue to try to

contact the pittsburg pd. for now we are live here in. police say the victim was with three other people behind an apartment complex when a hooded man with a gun approached them and demanded money. the 21-year-old victim was hit in the face with the gun and then grazed by a bullet when he tried to run away. time is 6:02. a developing story in concord firefighters busy. they just put out a house fire on st. francis drive and list way. although the flames are out, crews are still at the scene making sure there are no flairups. ktvu news crew is on the way. we'll bring you more information on what is happening in concord as soon as possible. a wild fire in plaster chest has -- this one has grown

airport. lorraine blanco is there to tell us what is happening today. lorraine. >> reporter: bart initials are calling this is a very visual milestone of this project. right now you have to get off the train here at the coliseum station and get on a bus. this will link the coliseum station straight to oakland international. here is new time lapse video. the project is bet growth great for the city's economic development. nearly two-thirds of the workers are from the bay area. 110 from right here in oakland and 75 from the project. later on the bart project manager will hold a news conference with the latest update on this construction. oakland city councilman larry reed will be there to talk about the importance of the project. lorraine blanco. 6:06 is the time right now. back over to sal.

for us it's a little system down out of the north. concord 55. fairfield 55. and oakland your super tech that on a friday. 49 sonoma county airport. a little cooler here pattern. gusting to 36 and vacaville with a west wind. sfo, concord, napa airport. these tropical clouds are so close. you can see wrapping around the high coming up from arizona, southern california as that system moves it, it kind of puts the breaks on that won't allow it to move too far. but for us 50s now, 60s, 70s and some low 80s for many. there is that area 90s to 100. sierra nevada if you are heading up to tahoe and truckee it has been warm up there. partly cloudy, partly sunny some of the clouds clipping the area today. for us windy at times.

presidential candidate mitt romney to release more about his personal financial information. ktvu alison burns reports the obama campaign is even suggesting romney may have committed a felony. >> reporter: dave, the romney campaign is facing a beerage of questions this morning. the latest is over his claims that he left the firm in 1991 to help with the olympics. but it's listed as he was as head of the firm as late as 2002. the romney campaign says those documents are misleading. democrats say he could clear it up by releasing more tax records. >> you see he could not even become a cabinet member for that lack of disclosure. and now with that lack of disclosure he wants to be president of the united states.

going bring along insect repellent. evacuations have been issued in placer county. we are there in auburn. firefighters are trying to get that under control. >> reporter: just to give you perspective on how much misfire has grown. yesterday morning there is about 200 firefighter ons the scene trying to get a handle on this fire. now there are more than 1800. that includes strike team from the bay area, napa county. you can see crews just pulling in here. these crews are from los angeles. 1,167-acres have now burned. 200 homes have been evacuated. this fire has been a worse case scenario. firefighters dealing with steep rugged terrain and now the winds have picked up.

we'll get all the business news coming up. >> we'll smile and say good morning, to you. thank you for joining us here. it is friday, july 13th i'm dave clark. >> and i'm pam cook. time now is 6:30. >> there was gunfire during the night at an east bay walmart. one person was shot. that person was riding a bike trying to escape the shooter. ktvu christien kafton is live at the pittsburg walmart. it opens in just about a half hour. >> reporter: we have new information about the vehicle police are looking for. we are hearing that police are looking out for a silver suv that may have been involved in that shooting. that shooting happened in this area here of the walmart parking lot. the victim was shot in this area last night. paramedics loaded him into an ambulance and rushed him to john mere medical center with a gunshot wound to his face and leg. 911 call started rolling in at 11:00 last night. that shots had been fired.

witnesses say the victim was on a bicycle and that a car began chasing him through the parking lot area. witnesses say the shooter fired at least five or six rounds. we are hearing the victim again struck multiple times. people living in the area says the shooting has thymine haves. >> reporter: you we have been getting indications that police have been looking at surveillance video. there are surveillance cameras at a nearby gas station and cameras here at the walmart. we have trying to get in contact with the pittsburg police to find out what they think about that surveillance camera. christien kafton ktvu channel 2 news. a three-year-old boy was critically hurt after being hit by a car in vallejo. the little boy darted into the street between two parked cars unicef race drive.

school supplies. this is the front of the line. some of the these folks have been camped out since 10:00 last night outside of sacred heart community service for their pack a back give away. more than 100 people out here. i want to bring in jay peco with sacred heart. you are seeing more people. why is that? >> since the height of the recession our numbers really increased. and you would hope as the economy got better the numbers might be going down for those seeking food. those numbers have not gone down yet. last year we helped 2,000 people with backpacks and we're expecting to do another 300. that is why we are seeing more people this year and why we need to provide more backpacks. >> you amazed when you see a line like this? >> i'm amazed how many children are in the line. the families are coming on in because they've got to make sure first of all for the kids they have to start the year right. for the parents they don't have a lot of room left when they are done paying for food and

alex savidge ktvu channel 2 news. 6:35. we have new information from florida in the trayvon martin shooting case. new documents say the fbi found no evidence that neighborhood watch volunteer george zimmerman shot trayvon martin because of his race. that conclusion was released after questioning zimmerman's coworkers, friends, and neighbors. documents show police officers rushed to that scene minutes after the shooting couldn't agree whether zimmerman had a broken nose but all of them said he had cuts on his head. last night in los angeles a monthly outdoor art event erupted into a clash between police and occupiers. two police officers were hurt. 14 protestors were arrested. the occupiers scribbled chalked messages on the sidewalk like may the youth rise and end the fed. police tried to block

protestors from blocking the street that is when one of the protestors through a bottle. jp morgan chase say its losses are more than twice as big as originally thought. it now says it lost $4.4 billion from the trades originally dismissed as quote a tempist in the teapot. the bank has since closed -- the incident raises new concerns about risks to the u.s. financial system. still posed by the biggest banks. a plan to expand west county jail will be announced today. the county wants to -- authorities say the expansion will accommodate a growing inmate population and help them separate inmates who are in rival gangs. opponents say the money would be better spent on programs that deter people from committing crime. time is 6:37. san jose police want to predict the future to help save lives out on the road. coming up at 6:45 how police

say they plan to stop traffic accidents before they happen. san jose fire department received an 8.6 million grant from the federal government. this will allow the department to hire 27 new firefighter recruits. mayor chuck reid will talk about that grant at an 11:00 a.m. news conference today. it will be at the san jose fire department training center. he will be joined by congressman mike honda and congresswoman zoe. right now it's coming up on 6:38. we want to check in with sal. hopefully no problems. the commute has been nice. >> yeah it has been. in july and august we have days that where the critical mass people are taking vacation. we can always tell by look agent the busiest commutes and see what they are doing. first of all we are looking at highway 4. there is slow traffic through antioch but it's not all that bad. 680 looks good.
