what's happening. >> complete bay area news coverage starts right now. this is ktvu mornings on two. >> is friday july 13th. to begin with overnight news. the search is on for the president opened fire outside a wal-mart. we are alive with authenticity that happened in that store parking lot. >> good morning. we have learned some more information and this morning pittsburgh police are looking for a silver suv in the parking lot around the time of the shooting. investigators are looking for the gunmen then opened fire in this parking lot. the victim was shot and paramedics loaded him into an ambulance impressed into john deere medical center with a gunshot wound to

his face and leg. a call came in the dutch have been fired and witnesses say the victim was on a bicycle. the shooter fired five or six rounds and the victim was struck multiple times. people living in the area say they consider this a very quiet area. >> yes, normally nothing like that happens. >> we have seen security driving through this parking lot this morning. we have also had indications that investigators are looking at surveillance video that may have been taken here or at the neighboring gas station and we are continuing to follow-up on the story and find out the condition of the shooting victim and you are trying to get more details on the suspect of that car. >> now we go to developing news

in concorde. a house fire broke out at lest l iscomb way. it brought out both firefighters and law- enforcement. a person in a hooded tortured was taken into custody. the fire broke out in the crotch where it was contained. there's no word yet on the cause of the -- broke out in the garage. there is no word yet on the cause. police say a victim was with three other victims behind an apartment complex when a hooded man with a gun approached them and demanded money. a 21 -year-old victim was hit in the face with a gun and then grazed by a bullet on his head when he tried to run away. >> the time is now 7:03.

school students and parents all lined up in san jose and as we speak a backpack giveaway will start in just a couple of hours. alex savage is out there now in san jose to tell us how this will help families in need. >> there are families in the south bay struggling with the economy the way it is and many of those needy families are lined up outside of sacred heart community service to get their hands on a backpack full of school supplies for their students so they can go back to school and have all the supplies they will need to achieve what they need to achieve academically speaking. this is an incredible lineup here, a huge crowd and several hundred people waiting out here. many of these folks have been kept out since timeclock last night. this is sacred heart community service doing their school supply giveaway and we talked with one young woman who is out

to lift. 46 and it's damp from pacifica to brandon. temperatures inland are a good 10 degrees cooler than 24 hours ago. now travis, that is a screaming message that it will be cooler. this system right there will send those off to the east and we will get more of a west and southwest direction which pushes it out to an even stronger low. temperatures will go from way up here and go way below average. a bigger fog bank over the weekend and the cooling continues. the sierra nevada is one today and a cooler pattern on the weekend but not bad as you go into sunday. then a possibility sunday of another low coming in. windy at times and still one

homicide in just one week. we brought you this story yesterday morning. a 19 -year-old woman was shot in the head inside a room at the starlight hotel on macarthur boulevard. people staying at the hotel said they heard gunshots and screaming. a friend of the victim tried to give her cpr but she died at the scene. extra patrols in north richmond after poor four people were killed. three people were shot and about 40 minutes later a fourth person was shot about seven blocks away. it appears the shootings are connected and gang related. >> san jose police want to protect traffic crashes before they happened. the police department hired a math professor to analyze accident patterns in the city using algorithms. this method is being used right

you are giving us the update. >> let's take a look at the commute. we are starting off and looking at the east shore. slow traffic as you go out to the names and all of a sudden you have a late morning pushed to the macarthur means and the northbridge toll plaza. you can see that there are still plenty of people trying to get into san francisco this morning. they get into the city to work or whatever but no problems on the bridge itself. also in livermore valley, just some minor things and interstate 80 between hayward and fremont, that was lighter than usual. and northbound 101 traffic looks good approach in san jose, sunnyvale and mountain view. now at 8:04, let's go to steve.

>> lots of low clouds and then he sent me pictures of fog. the fog has lifted and allowed it to move locally and linda so is a much cooler pattern that established itself yesterday. there is guess of 35 plus and that's a strong message that will be cooler. the fall was there all week long but it was just way down there. finally the grip of high pressure has been released a little bit and allows it to fly inland. big thunderstorms down in southern california from las las vegas to la. some thunderstorms, mainly rain and clouds. a lot of these temperatures are down a good 15 or 20 degrees from yesterday. low clouds started to fill in with a westerly or south westerly breeze.
