his face and leg. a call came in the dutch have been fired and witnesses say the victim was on a bicycle. the shooter fired five or six rounds and the victim was struck multiple times. people living in the area say they consider this a very quiet area. >> yes, normally nothing like that happens. >> we have seen security driving through this parking lot this morning. we have also had indications that investigators are looking at surveillance video that may have been taken here or at the neighboring gas station and we are continuing to follow-up on the story and find out the condition of the shooting victim and you are trying to get more details on the suspect of that car. >> now we go to developing news

in concorde. a house fire broke out at lest l iscomb way. it brought out both firefighters and law- enforcement. a person in a hooded tortured was taken into custody. the fire broke out in the crotch where it was contained. there's no word yet on the cause of the -- broke out in the garage. there is no word yet on the cause. police say a victim was with three other victims behind an apartment complex when a hooded man with a gun approached them and demanded money. a 21 -year-old victim was hit in the face with a gun and then grazed by a bullet on his head when he tried to run away. >> the time is now 7:03.

here. >> i came here to get a backpack with supplies because my mom doesn't have enough money to buy my supplies. >> and sacred heart community service was telling me that they have really seen a need for this. the first year they did it they only gave away about 100 backpacks and this year they are expecting to give away about 12400. the actual backpacks themselves will be given to the students next month. >> 7:05 and a stinging surprise for a palo alto city crew when they were removing a fallen tree. the crew was called to do

the dow is rising nicely this morning and a big bank is leading the market sharply higher. j.p. morgan searching for% on a strong earnings report and they played a huge trading loss that the more significant than the first report. and taking a live report, the dow up 158 and nasdaq up 27, snp up 14. j.p. morgan chase says its loss for trading errors is $5.8 billion which is three times it's

original estimate. we have the recent dismissal of top managers and what's being done to prevent this from happening again. >> good morning. let's break this down. there was a two-hour conference call after j.p. morgan reported earnings and no one knew what the outcome was going to be. but how picked up the bank take a hit but the total turned out to be $5.8 billion and it is triple what diamond reported in may but they say losses could even get bigger by 1.7 billion. even with those trading losses the bank still beat expectations and reported a 5 billion profit and the bank has made every 10 billion in profits of four this year. the chief investment officer for those losses came from while blogger trade derivatives, and three managers who lead the trade division will no longer work at

homicide in just one week. we brought you this story yesterday morning. a 19 -year-old woman was shot in the head inside a room at the starlight hotel on macarthur boulevard. people staying at the hotel said they heard gunshots and screaming. a friend of the victim tried to give her cpr but she died at the scene. extra patrols in north richmond after poor four people were killed. three people were shot and about 40 minutes later a fourth person was shot about seven blocks away. it appears the shootings are connected and gang related. >> san jose police want to protect traffic crashes before they happened. the police department hired a math professor to analyze accident patterns in the city using algorithms. this method is being used right

morning and is limited to one alarm. firefighters were able to get it under control quickly but no word on the cause of the fire or the dollar amount of the damage or why that person was detained on the scene. contra costa firefighters have been tightlipped about what's going on here and we are hoping the public officer arrives on scene shortly to give us more detail about what exactly is going on at this house that burned earlier this morning. we are hearing that the fire was confined in this building and is now a criminal matter. we will continue to follow up on details and bring you the story as we get it. >> 7:59. a man was shot overnight right outside a wal-mart in pittsburgh. it happened around 11:00. the shooter was in a car chasing after someone riding a

bike. the shooter fired shots and the victim was wounded, taking to the medical center shot in his face and his lady. we don't know yet if the victim was a shopper or not and no reports of anyone else heard any attack. the shooter escaped in a silver suv. police and powell out till said a man using a satellite dish cable repelled into a grocery store. gustavo alvarez is accused of breaking into a market on college avenue last night. he allegedly broke out of a skylight on the markets group and repelled down inside. police said he ran when he set the alarm off in the store but please don't think he stole anything. he's now facing charges of burglary. >> is 8:00 and it seems like summer is just getting underway, but some are getting ready for school. happening right now, south bay
