controversy. >> we will have the announcement in a couple of minutes. we are following developing news in san francisco right now. they are on the scene of an apartment building fire that has taken one life. we have more on what happened and the investigation underway. >> alex. >> well, good afternoon. >> investigators expect to be out for much of the dayen a the fact that someone was killed here. it broke out in an apartment building on clearry court which is on the other side of the high rise complex. it is very close to st. mary's cathedral. >> there were flames pouring from this place. >> this was shot by a tourist. they got here and immediately ban to search the building. they found one person dead inside a second story unit. they spread to the third floor of the building. >> that's where two others suffered moment inhalation.

>> they were treated by paramedics at the scene and they declined to be transported to the hospital. >> we talked with that man from germany. he was in town on vacation and said he watched it burn from a nearby building. >> it was really eery and really threatening. and we saw the middle center court was filling with smoke and people being had he and it was not harmed at all. they got this under control and it is damaged in the laguna heights cooperative apartments. a dozen people are displaced because of the damaged units. one man who lives in the complex next door came back from work in a panic. worried it was his billing on fire. >> any time you get a frantic

phone call from a neighbor saying. there is a building on fire, is your dog at home. i mean, i don't even know in there is people inside. >> they have not released an identity on the person or how old the person was. we understand one minor injury to a firefighter who suffered a cut and that firefighters was taken to the hospital and the fire department spokeswoman we talked with this morning tells us there is is no indication of what caused the deadly fire this morning. we are live this afternoon in san francisco. alan savidge, ktvu news. >> it is a busy day on the north bay and east bay. >> it is five minutes and including the story of how some firefighters one they could have been in two places at the
