their hand. >> the robbers wearing dark hoodies covering their faces ran through jcpenney and got into two get away cars. they left behind jewelry cases shattered and the store turned upside down. >> it took a lot of guts for them to come in and do it in the middle of the afternoon in the middle of the mall. so that's really crazy. >> police were able to get descriptions of the get away cars thanks to mall security and they are following up on those leads right now. they are also reviewing surveillance video from the crime and police telling me a short time ago this is still a very active investigation. in newrak, cara liu, ktvu news? an unusual find in san francisco's mission bay neighborhood brought out the bomb squad today. police say a construction crew uncovered a 16-inch long artillery shell they were digging around indiana. a worker loaded the shell into his truck and drove it about a mile to channel street.

to get across market street. san francisco mayor ed lee defended a scathing tweet he sent out about chick-fil-a. major lee tweeted very disappointed -- mayor lee tweeted, very disappointed that chick-fil-a does not hold the same mind set of san francisco. the bishop of oakland is being named the new archbishop of san francisco. today he explained why he is opposed to same-sex marriage.

>> marriage is is the union of the man and a woman because children can only come from the embrace of a man and woman coming together. so my stance is marriage can only be between a man and a woman and i don't see how that is discriminatory. >> reporter: cortilioni is expected to assume his position in october. the court says it wants to wait to see if the u.s. supreme court grants a review of the law requested by the obama administration. the federal law passed in 1986 bars more than a thousand marital benefits to same-sex couples even though legally married under state law. facebook shares sank to a new low. menlo park company late yesterday announced an expected slow down in revenue growth. that sent stock down nearly 12% today to $23.71. it's the lowest levels since

facebook's wall street debut back in may. san ramon based chevron released its own mixed bag of earnings report. profits that chevron's refinery business rose 80%. refining in california was especially strong but net income for the oil giant fell almost 7% to more than $7 billion and that still beat expectation. google is apologizing for keeping some of its street view data from york and australia that it had promised to get rid of. google angered officials after -- a judge in santa clara county has sentenced the owners of a foreclosure consulting firm to prison for defrauding

hundreds of homeowners. rene alvarez and mariano ortega were sentenced to five years in prison. they charged homeowners up to $5,000 and never provided service. hundreds of custodial workers marched through san francisco calling for a new contract. members of fciu local # seven say they are fighting for health care service for family members. their current contract expires next tuesday. they say if a deal isn't reached they could be on strike by wednesday. >> our work coming up for the 1% they got bailed out, they got helped out and we just want a fair shake at the table. the san francisco officials are taking steps to keep a wandering wolf at

san jose police released new details about the suspect in a double homicide earlier this week. investigators say pedro castellon medina may be driving a black nissan maxima with license plate number 6tiw691. medina is thought to have shot and killed a couple. authorities today ruled the death of a teenager who opened fire at police was a suicide. 19-year-old brian akers davis shot himself in the head may second after a police chase that started in oakley.

treatment. the centers for disease control finds only 1/4 of people with aids are on the treatment. also that the youngest patients are the ones most at risk. and that 15% of those 19 to 24 had the virus decreased to desirable levels. of those getting treatment are 38% white. those who are donating to parks are worried their money is not going to the right place. the state was saying many parks would have to be shut down due to the budget crisis. one donor says he plans to send a letter to the state asking that the money he raised be given to the sonoma county regional parks department to run anadel state park in santa rosa. >> all of that effort was you know in many ways in vain is a real disappointment. we feel like we, it's hard to

recoop that. you know that energy could have been spent elsewhere. >> reporter: state lawmakers have called for audits and investigations into park funding. there appears to be an accountable gap when it comes to the amount of money in special funds kept by various state agencies. the state controllers office reported about $11 billion in state funds. but the department of finance says the actual number is about 9 billion. that's a $2 billion difference. the calculations come just days after the discovery of that parks and' recreation department was sitting on $54 million in special funds. and the fog is making its way back into the bay tonight. it'll be there in most neighborhoods tomorrow morning. a warmer weekend in store. the fog right now exists out toward the ballpark and san francisco. it's working its way toward the ballpark big game out there with the dodgers in the next hour or so. that's going to be fog, foggy and cool as the first ball gets pitched in the next hour.

as that fog pushes across the bay into oakland and fremont. we have fog most of us. burns off more rapidly tomorrow. saturday and that increases your daytime high. less fog in the morning, warmer afternoon. so your saturday looks nice. warmer than today. then your sunday warmer still. these are the highs from today and you see antioch got to 87 that was the big spot. but most temperatures tomorrow are going to come up a good five, 6 degrees from the highs we saw today in the inland bay valley. budges ever so slightly this weekend. as it budges off this way the highs come in and temperatures come up a little bit. slightly warmer. we'll see some low 90s. it's not spare the air weather but the fog will creep in a little bit. there's your fog footprint moving north into the napa valley. we have some holes and when you start off with holes like that

the sun gets in there quick and it warms up more rapidly. tomorrow look for a quicker warm up and warmer highs. those are your 80s for the most part. we'll see some mid- and upper 80s in some of the warmer spots in the inland valley. 88 in clear lake tomorrow one of the warm spots. 90 out in antioch and brent wood. those are the spots that you expect to be that warm. 80 in san jose, 84, 85 in morgan hill. 86 in gilroy. then you have a 70 in san bruno and 77 in menlo park. with better air quality and mild temperatures the weekend last few days have been cool. the weekend is going to be warmer that's what we're shooting for here. daytime highs are going to be warmest on sunday. bay area weekend. it's going to be one of the nicer weekends and it's just not going to be too hot. expect that the coast is going to be really cool. the fog is going to linger there a lot. >> and a little fog at the giants game.

illegal medical spas will face stiffer fines under a new law now signed by governor brown. those target spas.

those business must be owned at least 51% by a medical doctor, but the new law increases the maximum fine for violating that law from $1,200 to $50,000 or twice the amount of fraud whichever is greater. the new law takes effect on january 1st. our sports director mark ibanez has the night off. fred inglis is here and if it's july it must be football season. >> football is 365 days a year. t -- and the san francisco giants spoke to the press. everyone randy moss took part. after bouncing around with two different teams in 2010, moss took off the entire 2011 season. >> the reason you know i walked away from the game wasn't really to do with the game. one thing i have learned that
