spread to shrubs and burned the home. a public hearing tomorrow regarding their fire stations. at issue is a $75 a year parcel tax. they are considering adding the issue it the november ballot. the meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow morning. investigators believe a deadly san francisco apartment fire last week was started accidentally. investigators have not determined what sparked the fire but they have narrowed down the point of origin to the kitchen. she was inside his apartment when the fire broke out before 10:00 a.m. on wednesday. he did not survive. authorities are calling it the million dollars question,

what caused a door to open on a party bus leading a young woman to fall to her death on highway 17. ktvu's janine de la vega is live. >> reporter: ken, the bus the women were on was operated by party bus of santa cruz. there is no office here, all we found was buses parked and when we called the man said not to call back and hung up on us. >> reporter: investigators spent the day checking the party buss on the lot. no one here was talking but party bus has not been operating since friday night. they say activity has slowed down. >> i know they park them next door and there is just lots of them over there. there usually is. >> reporter: in san jose the

chp spent the morning inspecting the bus involved. friday two women on the bus were fighting as the bus was traveling. before it reached highway 9 they fell out the side door. >> we don't know if the door was faulty. we don't know if someone opened the door and said get out of here. we are uncertain right now and that is the question we are trying to answer. >> reporter: investigators say 24-year-old natasha noland was run over by the bus' tire and killed. the other woman was slightly injured and cooperating with investigators. officers say the bus had a dozen or so people on board and many were drunk and some even ran away. it is too early to tell if anyone was criminally

a momentless man is behind bars -- a homeless man is behind bars after police found weapons in his car in golden gate park. police say he was yelling and behaving strangely and seemed to be living out of his car. he had two run ins with officers. first detained last month. police searched his car and found a shotgun, a pistol, 5,000 rounds of ammo and 14 knives. he underwent a mental health evaluation and let go and on

california's high-speed rail inches forward, another effort is underway to link california and las vegas with another train. the express west train would run from victorville in san bernardino county to las vegas. in the coming weeks developers are set to ask the obama administration to provide a loan on the project. if it is built a trip from southern california to las vegas on the express west is expected to take just 90 90 minutes. chrysler reported big earnings. $436million in profits in the 2 2nd quarter compared to 370 million last year. $16.8billion, that is an increase of 26%. they benefited from selling most of its cars in the u.s.
