arrive. if you were on a plane and you saw this, what would you think? >> i would be thinking, i hope the oxygen masks will drop soon. >> we'll clear the air. and a guy walked right into a trap. >> hilarity ensued. >> oh, geez. i can't wait. >> see the new twist on the old chair prank. we're going to kick off our show today with dash cam footage that could be difficult for some of you to watch. this all happened in lawrence, indiana. officer matthew fox of the fortville police department was trying to do a routine traffic stop. at first we think that the volvo is going to pull over. you hear officer fox. >> turn the vehicle off. >> he takes off. officer fox continues after this

volvo, but watch what happens. >> oh, no! wow. >> the driver of this car got out with a .45 semiautomatic and fired 12 shing shots. bullets did hit officer fox. luckily, he had on his bullet proof vest, which blocked a shot straight to the chest. you see the suspect get back into the car, speed away. officer fox is able to call out for help as backup arrives. >> help! i'm dying! >> no, you're not. you're not going to die. >> they ended up finding the suspect, who went into an apartment complex. several officers set up a stakeout. he opened fire on those officers. when he went to reload, officers firedn him, kli his car, they found several different firearms and marijuana.

>> i'll tell you what, this video makes you flinch. >> he gives the officers absolutely no time to react. >> it seems like this guy had nothing to lose. >> officer fox was taken to the hospital where he did undergo two surgeries. he's currently in good condition. there's a car fire going on. >> bonfires are always fun, except when they're by accident and they're in the middle of a busy street. that's what happened in williamsburg, brooklyn. apparently a power transformer underground exploded and flames shot out of a manhole. who had the worst luck was the guy who owned the bmw that was sitting on top of the manhole. this is outside of the lucky dog bar. firefighters were quick to the scene, but there are some really, really tense and crazy

moments in this video. the fire starts to get a little bit out of control. >> what are you waiting for? >> [ bleep ]! >> you see one explosion there. maybe looks like the back tires of this thing. then watch here. now you've got like a stream of fire heading towards these other cars. >> oh, no! >> oh, my god! it's going down the block! >> firefighters are actually able to fight that portion of the blaze. they shoot the hose at it and push it back, as you can see here. but that actually happened again. >> oh, my god! >> we found a picture of what the car looked like afterwards. >> oh, no! >> yeah, not much left of that bmw. >> the big slogan in new york is

if you see something, say something. maybe it should be if you smell something, say something. >> doesn't a lot of stuff smell funny in new york? tragedy struck in south bend, indiana. check out this video. this is steve. he was racing this little bunny car through a mud bog. now, he had retired from racing in '95, but he missed it and decided to get back into it. now instead of racing on sand, he was doing his first attempt through mud. it ended fatally for him. so in this video, it doesn't look like anything happened. check this out from another angle. police say his tires were off the ground, and he tried to turn the car to avoid the concrete barriers at the end of the track, but he flipped over and landed on the barriers and a chain link fence.

as you can see, emergency crews are there to help him, but he died on the way to the hospital. you can see the wreckage of that car. >> it was a serious, serious accident just by looking at the car. a concrete barrier sounded a little extreme. maybe hay bails or something else that are there to protect these drivers. >> steve's 15-year-old son was watching the race when this occurred. he said he was a great father, but he said he died doing something he loved. if you guys were on a plane, you're either about to take off or just landed, and you saw this, what would you think? >> i would be thinking, i hope the oxygen masks are going to drop soon because i'm not certain i want to inhale whatever that is. >> the poster of this video titled it "plane is on fire." >> plane is on fire, nobody is panicking. >> they're not exactly concerned about what is going on in the plane. it does look like smoke. it looks like the cabin is

one car to the next car where it couldn't get away. >> you know, my car is making this noise. it's like -- i can't explain it exactly. >> and there are acorns underneath the car for some unexplicable reason. she's going to stay at a wildlife refuge because she has to heal. she had singed whiskers. the skin on one of her feet had come off. i think it was some damage from the engine. but they do expect her to be okay, make a full recovery. and since they know where she came from, they're hoping a volunteer will drive her back. what you've got here is a chair. now, that's prank potential. >> no! he really took it apart. >> yeah, that's great. >> always fun to watchhehair
