coliseum. 4:29 let's go back to the desk. >> thank you, sal. topping our news this morning san francisco police are looking for suspects in a deadly overnight shooting in the city's portola neighborhood. tara moriarty tells us one person was killed, another critically injured. good morning, tara. >> reporter: we are here at police headquarters where inspectors will be arriving soon. they are out at the home where we speak gathering evidence. this shooting happened last night at 10:00. it was in the cities portola neighborhood. two men gunned down while stapping on the sidewalk. that street running parallel to the 101 freeway. one victim died at the scene. the other was transported to san francisco hospital. now the suspects two men in their 20s jumped into a waiting car right after the shooting described as a four-door white sedan. we're not sure if one of the

victims lived at the house where the shooting happened but inspectors were inside that house all night and through the morning. if the victim in the hospital dies, this will be the second double homicide in that area. this is the eighth killing in san francisco since may. even though gun violence is down 5% last year. as soon as we can we will get an update on the victims condition at the hospital. live from san francisco i'm tara moriarty ktvu channel 2 news. in an exclusive interview a homeless man accused of stockpiling firearms in his jeep opens up to us here at ktvu. last month police seized a shotgun, pistol, knives and nearly 6,000 rounds of ammunition. suspect robert johns calls the weapons collectible and the ammo birthday presents. one business owner that did not want his face shown on television thought john acted peculiar during the two months helid out of his jeep.

lamar. they will meet at morgan hill elementary school at # this morning. that is despite the arrest of her suspected killer. meantime attorneys for suspect antolin garcia torres he did not appear in court. later this month he is expected to enter a plea. a pg&e engineer says he warned his supervisors the companies gas transmission line records were inaccurate but nothing was done about it. the testimony came in a deposition yesterday for hundreds of lawsuits filed following the deadly 2010 san bruno explosion. attorneys are trying to prove that pg&e knew the gas transmission posed a threat to public safety. voters will decide whether or not to help contra costa

counties largest fire department. the board of supervisors voted yesterday to place $75 a year parcel tax on the november ballot. the money would go to fire services. now critics argue that firefighters should rethink how to spend the money they already have. >> it's not the right time to put a tax on there when they have extreme pension issues. they pay their people a great deal. >> we have cut our cost as much as possible. and at this point we are going back to the public and asking for help. >> now if this fails, the chief says ten of his 28 fire stations must close. last month eastern contra costa county firefighters cut their force in half after voters shot down a $197 parcel tax. arson and plotting to kill administrators at a high school. those are the accusations against a professor from u cia

south korea. 4:44 is the time right now. let's check in with sal. >> if you happening to be driving maybe you are driving to the airport to take an important flight. who knows what you are doing right now, the roads will be pretty open for you. let's start with 880 we mentioned the airport. if you are driving down to oakland airport it looks good here. southbound from downtown oakland northbound traffic looks very nice. also this morning we are looking at the approach to the toll plaza westbound coming into the city this traffic looks very nice all the way across the bridge. and we have looked at the road work or the roads pardon me between livermore and castro valley. there could be some road work here. for the most part it has been picked up. no major problems. and the traffic continues to move along very nicely. if you are driving on 880 southbound it's a nice looking drive. across the bay 101 looks good if you are going to the san francisco airport. 101 is is a good one to use.

wanted to take revenge for his son's death that committed suicide after being disciplined at school. time now 4:48. a nine-year-old boy is being blamed for a house fire in east palo alto. that happened yesterday afternoon on jazmine way. the fire started when the boy dropped a it will candle on a mattress fort he built in the garage of his home. the fire gutted the home and destroyed two cars that were parked in the driveway. we are learning new information about the death of a san rafael hikers who's body was found in the forest. an autopsy shows he died from mass i head trauma. he was hiking last week and apparently fell from a mountain peak. no foul play is suspected. the first practice races for the americas cup get under way this month. the impact from the overall event is being felt.
