so close to his head. >> you see, they threw a tarp over his head to protect him from flying debris. they have to make sure the power is off to the house in case they run a chainsaw through a power line there could be pipes and other things that the chainsaws can't cut through. go his hand is coming out and they've got a chainsaw, he tonight know where they're going with the chainsaw. >> the house is on fire, the thing could burn down. >> the firefighters are there battling the fire. they're also using water which creates steam. that could burn the man. >> firefighters do manage to cut a hole large enough. >> he made it out and he was fine? >> he was able to crawl out of the hole he made by himself. >> wow. >> what an odd rescue. the guy's head exposed so he's not vulnerable to smoke inhalation, but still, he's trapped in a burning building at the same time. >> he was banged up a little, but no serious injuries. >> this is one of the most

horrifying amazing rescues i've seen. you know the saying -- fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me. well, in this guy's case, it was more like rob me once, shame on you. rob me twice, shame on me. because that's what went down at the saint elias mini market in new bedford, massachusetts, it was robbed earlier in the week. then two robbers run in again, wielding knives. now the owner decides to fight back with a stick. his name is nicholas wood. he gets a stick out like it's a louisville slugger and starts lacing into these guys. eventually chases one robber out the door. his wife then goes and locks that robber out. so now the one solo robber is inside the mini market and this guy is just lacing into him and wait until you see what he picks

for his second weapon of choice. a display shelf. >> just start swinging this huge display shelf at this guy. the guy doesn't know what to do at this point. >> he's locked in and he has a knife. >> did the other robber bust through the door? who is that? >> no. those are neighbors from a close by mexican restaurant. though saw the two masked men walk by. they went down to investigate the scene. saw nicholas fighting the robbers off. so they broke into the store, to help nicholas. wait until you see the gang of people, they bust in, they start taking down the robber. it's like -- men, women, children, it's like a family affair at one point. all the people from the mexican restaurant come down. authorities were called to the scene. one man was arrested. the other guy got away and apparently is still at large. >> we have normal monsoon rains in the philippines and you throw in a tropical storm and you've got chaos.

look at thisideo from manila. you have a red cross amphibious vehicle going in to save people because there's been a ton of flooding. so far, 130,000 people have been evacuated from their homes. 78,000 are living in shelters and you have people stuck, needing to be rescued. and the amphibious vehicle is there when they need it. >> they're going to throw something out of the side of this vehicle. >> you can see people being pulled out. >> another person looks like he's going for a swim. >> it's funny you should mention that. some people are just going for a swim. >> it doesn't look deep enough for that. >> i don't think i would do that. because it's not like a freshwater pond. it's not the ocean. it's not a cliff. >> you never know what's down there. it could be a bike or someone's car. >> or it could just be mixing

a tear. >> tears of joy because she's warm. over the past year we've seen all sorts of videos of people launching things into space. this time, guys from sky probe decided to launch a coors light can into space. the silver bullet, if you will. this thing flew from santa clarita, california to the angeles national forest. there was science behind their project. they wanted to test the effect of near-space on a full can of beer. they wanted to validate the super cold label that coors light has on their can. >> i was about to ask about that. because the silver bullet, the mountains are supposed to turn blue when they're really cold. >> you're excited about that, you're right. when the mountains turn blue, coors says your beer is ready to drink. they got this thing up to 93,000 feet. look at how high up they are here. of course the balloon eventually

burst this thing tumbles to the ground. here to tell us about their findings about this project, are george, pat and travis from sky pro. they're joining us from santa clarita, california, "right this minute." as the can went up it got cooler and then it passed a certain point and warmed up again? >> it started off at 900 degrees fahrenheit. it was a hot day. as it went up, we experienced temperatures around negative 70 degrees fahrenheit. the temperature actually starts to get a little warmer as you pass the troposphere. it was such a quick descent, it was only 26 minutes from the time it burst to going down, so i'm sure the can was still pretty frozen. >> i notice some people commenting on youtube saying oh, man, this is fake. the can would have exploded on its way down. you guys have an answer to that. >> it was traveling through the temperature gradients so quickly it didn't have time to pressure

the bottom of the can kind of pooches out, it's noticeable that there's liquid inside. >> how hard was it for you guys to locate the can once it was in the woods? >> we did a quick projection of where we thought it would land. we didn't really believe that. and it did, unfortunately. >> that was an all day hiking trip, about eight or nine hours hiking in the angeles forest, it landed on the back side of a 6,000-foot mountain. we had to climb halfway down to get it out. >> did you drink the beer? >> unfortunately we couldn't. it punctured the can, so the beer was no longer there. ♪ ♪ a new tlc show that's got everyone talking. >> here comes honey boo-boo. >> honey boo-boo is coming. will you be watching? >> i'll watch the show. i'll dvr the show.
