problem. protesters gathered in san francisco to speak out against something happening half a world away. about 30 demonstrators staged a protest outside the russian embassy in san francisco. they are speaking out against the prison sentences for three members of a all female punk rock band in russia. that band staged a protest last february at a church in moscow against the russian president. today a judge sentenced them to two years in jail. the decision is drying criticism for limits of political speech, even the president wide in on the side of leniency. >> the condition of a 17-year- old boy shot last night in san jose improving. the shooting happened on sanders near allen rock last night just after 9:30. the boy was first said to have suffered life threatening injuries but today police said that the teen is expected to

survive. investigators are still searching for the gunman and have not disclosed a motive for the shooting. san francisco police are getting ready to stop a river that is reportedly planned for this weekend. police say that any rabe on the island tomorrow night would be illegal. they have told the highway patrol and the coast guard and will limit entry to the island with checkpoints. they say they learned of the project x event from a concerned parent. >> rangers at yosemite will continue their search for a 6- year-old this weekend. rangers have been searching a mile long stretch of the merced river. the boy and his brother were swept away wednesday afternoon when they stopped near the foot bridge. his brother was quickly found but had already drowned. >> an attack of an employee by a patient at napa state hospital has prompted a change in poll civil hospital employees will no longer be required to carry new safety
