tyson dagley entered the plea on a third-degree negligent homicide charge. he was driving on a jet ski when he rear ended another jet ski driven by a girl who died. search crews in yosemite national park recovered the body of a boy from the merced river. last week jacob adams was swept down river with his brother andy. andy's body was recovered that day. teams launched a massive search for jacob adams but it wasn't till today that they found him. he was 50 yards from the vernal fall footbridge. there are new details about the sale of the solyndra headquarters. seagate agreed to buy the facility. today a solyndra bankruptcy filing revealing they were the

highway 101. this happened before noon on highway 101. the chp says a car went out of control and crossed the highway into traffic. an suv broad sided the car. two adults and a child was killed. a woman and two children in the suv were also hurt. all lanes of highway 101 reopened an hour ago but traffic is still slow. investigators are trying to determine what caused the car to go out of control. fire crews are making progress on the fast moving ponderosa fire. it is a 28,000-acre fire and it is 60% contained. some residents who were evacuated are able to return

home tonight. mike joins joins us live now. >> reporter: they were able to make progress but there was still tense moments. take a look. >> reporter: before 3:00 p.m. helicopters raced to another spot fire. residents on edge. >> i get more and more serious. the good news is so far today -- [no audio] gave way to this. more isolated spots of fire. p a fire that has burned 8 miles from its starting point. >> this makes me feel a little bit better because it is not moving fast. conditions are so dry that if this fire jumps out of control over lines today, it could burn for at least another square mile. >> we haven't had these conditions since 1999.

mcdonalds stopped buying meat from a slaughterhouse. the company was shut down because of animal cruelty. mcdonalds says behavior filmed at the plant does not meet the standards they expect. investigators are checking to see if any of the sick cattle got into the food supplies but there is no indication that happened. prosecutors filed charges against two women for animal cruelty. she is charged with felony animal cruelty and her mother with animal neglect. authorities found 50 nuin effected cats -- neglected gats and 115 dead cats. got my rally towel, t hurts and 200 excited fans to cheer

the area is east of edgewopark. a auditing is underway to determine if california's mental health dollars are being used properly. a report found tens of millions of dollars have gone to programs for people who have not been diagnosed with a mental illness. it will cost $450,000. the labor department reports new claims for unemployment benefits rose last week, up to 372,000. the 4 week average increased by 3,750. this is the second straight week that first time jobless claims have gone up. on wall street, comments from the president made it sound less likely the fed will act to stimulate the economy and as a result stocks went down.

the dow is down 115 to 13,057. the nasdaq is down 20 at 3,053. the s&p is down 11 at 1,402. general motors has plans for a new compact car. they will invest $220 million into ohio factories for a redesign of the car. the current model gets 35-mile as gallon. -- miles a gallon. it is expected on the market in 2014. they are retraining agents after allegations of racial profiling. all tsa agents have to take a refresher course. it will reinforce profiling is not tolerated. they come after agents accused agents of targeting minorities.

autopsy results found that rodney king was drinking and was taking drugs when he plunged into a swimming pool and drown. he died in june at the age of 47. 20 years ago his beating by police led to riots in los angeles. the report shows he had a number of drugs including pcp, cocaine and marijuana at the time of his death. he was in a state of drug and alcohol induced delirium when he fell or jumped into the pool at his home. facebook is responding to complaints about its mobile app with the new update. they released a new version of the app today.

facebook says it was redesigned so everything loads faster. it has new features including the ability to "like" comments. >> hewlett-packard is ready to jump back in. a memo leaked talks about a new mobility unit. hewlett-packard tried to compete in the tablet market last year but ended up liquidating with cheap prices. there was no mention as to what operating system it would use. they are suing dish satellite provider. dish violated rules by calling millions of customers who asked not to be contacted by the company. the ftc said it could bring a fine of up to $16,000 per call.

a half ago a meeting to expand the sanctuary. as a result of a deal 20 years ago there is a gap outside the golden gate and along side san francisco. the obama administration wants to an exthe area to the -- an exthe area to -- annex the area to the sanctuary. it is part of the sutter hospital chain. they stopped admitting patients to the unit there. the nurses say it provided a vital healthcare service. >> at one point it was a lucrative unit to have for the hospital and now with current laws it has become more of a burden for them. so they have closed the unit down.

and most of the nurses are no longer allowed to transfer into other units. >> the last patient who is being cared for was discharged monday. many others have been transferred. nasa released a new video of the curiosity rover's landing on mars. this is a high resolution video of the august 5 landing. you see the heat shield. you can see the surface there growing larger in the view. the curiosity is the first space craft to video record a landing on another planet. nasa announced today space x is cleared as the first private company that is certified for missions to the space station. it will begin flights this october as part of a contract with nasa. for so many families summer
