tori campbell. >> a san jose firefighter suffered a heart attack battling a fire and we learned new details about his condition. robert honda is there with how the firefighter is doing. robert? >> reporter: we are at san jose rejobbal medical center where family and friends have been visiting to provide support for frank ryan. they are trying to keep up an o tim mystic attitude but the mood is somber. >> st. patrick's cathedral downtown was severely damaged in a fire that had smoke pouring out the windows and and parishioners running for safety. then firefighter frank ryan collapsed outside the church near his fire truck. the captain performed cpr and fellow paramedics used defibrillator, which probably saved his life. today family members and

friends are at the hospital where he is listed in stable condition in a medically induced coma in order to rest his heart. >> frankly, he is a strong guy, good shape. hard worker. >> just, you know, incredibly stressful day. tough conditions in there. and it is what we do and when it is one of your own, that goes down, you know, i don't think you can be prepared for that. >> reporter: 42-year-old frank ryan is critical but stable condition. we will have an update of mr. ryan and the situation at st. patrick's cathedral today be o the five and 6:00 newscast. >> thank you, robert. isaac may be losing strength and still causing major problems across the gulf coast states. they are pumping water from the reservoir to ease the pressure

right now. >> reporter: dozens of protestors marched into the museum. it got a little unruly for a museum. so police stepped in. they length their support. the union. local 100 -- 1021 said the corporation of the fine arts which oversees the museums has been engaging in anti labor tactics. they have been hiding important information and vilifying some employees. some of whom are the lowest paid at the museum. >> allegations i have heard of cracking down on the worker's time and treating them without dignity is something that doesn't belong in golden gate park or in san francisco as well. >> that is the chief executive officer. and it could be a 10% increase over the next couple of years. because of the poor economy, she said it is reasonable for employees to contribute to
