a wild scene as branch robbery suspects lapd on a chase in which the suspects started throwing cash out the streets. it lasted an hour and drew to a close as it wound through neighborhoods. you can see the suspects throwing bills out the window and that caused people to run into the streets after the cash. eventually the driver got stuck behind traffic and police moved in. >> this is not a good idea. these are citizens getting involved. guns are drawn. >> two men were arrested. a mop of people went on the scene and dozens of police officers were on hand to break up the crowd. firefighters rescued a man in a wheelchair from his burning apartment. it broke out about 1:00 a.m. firefighters arrived to find huge flames, a dozen people

were evacuated from the building. they said a man was trapped inside his apartment. >> by standers advised us of a person needing to be rescued. they got the person out. >> took crews an hour to get the flames out. no one was hurt but it forced 15 people from their homes. the red cross is helping. the cause of the fire is under investigation. firefighters say they have 75% containment on a wildfire burning since last friday in lake county. it burned 4600 acres so far. evacuation orders have been lifted but several roads are still closed. firefighters hope to have full containment by saturday. the mayor of hercules is responding to results of two state audits. they question tens of millions of dollars in expenses. they also slammed the city for

a crane operator made a discovery that transbay transit center construction site. he jumped out out of the crane to look and knew he found something special. >> i notified our superintendent and after a few phone calls, i guess few e- mails i got the word back, hey, you know, it is a tooth, woolly mammoth. >> he was digging 110 feet when he unearthed a large tooth. they say they believe they belong to a woolly mammoth or a columbian mammoth that lived here 11,000 years ago. officials with the transbay joint powers authority say they are excited about this find.
