in vacaville, where senator a huge crowd there. claudine, is it still going on? it was supposed to finish a half-hourary. >> reporter: it is still going on. it has been going since 10:00 this morning. it's taking a little more time those who loved him, all remembering kenyon youngstrom. thousands came today to honor a man who dedicated his wife to help hers. >> i remember when kenyon got accepted to go to the academy. i don't think i've seen a smile on anybody's face as big as that. he was so happy. >> he had the heart, he had -- he had an enormous heart. he loved everybody. >> reporter: youngstrom is being remembered for his smile, his faith and the love he had for his wife and his four

back to you. >> thank you. go to the ktvu.com and mobilecuil.com for more -- mobile ktvu.com for more. police say someone shot isiah thomas. investigators don't think the killing was gang-related. there was a double stabbing near downtown san jose. officers rushed to 9th and julian streets around 2:20 this morning. they found two people stabbed, ages 20, 21. police say the first person had about six stab wounds to his back. both victims were taken to the hospital. their conditions have not been relayed -- released. police are looking for a motive behind the attack.

police say last night two people were shot in the leg last night. there was another shooting in west oakland about 30 minutes later. a man was wounded on 34th and magnolia street. police say all of the victims are in stable condition. so far, no arrests. a 45-year-old man suspected of killing a man he met in a castro bar pleaded not guilty to murder charges this morning. investigators say the man left 28-year-old stevenner rick escolon -- even eric escolon and they went to escolon's body. the defendant's attorney is still waiting for toxicology reports. >> we don't know what we will do before that. we're relying on the system to give us time to investigate our

case. >> the judge denied a prosecution request to raise his bal from $1 million to $10 million. his next court appearance is set for october -- bail from $1 million to $10 million. his next court appearance is set for october 21st. the menlo park fire chief says that the fire is contained but it's not out completely. that's why they've brought in a private company with a big excavator you see there to pull out the piles of building debris so firefighters can get water underneath all of that. for students and staff watching this complicated process is painful. >> reporter: flames shot out of the roof in the main building of the tight-knit campus. >> when my mom brock me up early in the morning, i thought it was a prank.

a fatal head-on crash in

the delta shut down the westbound lane of highway 12 between interstate 5 and the rio vista bridge. the chp does not expect it to reopen for at least an hour, until about 1:00 this afternoon. a delivery truck hit a big rig head-on. the crash killed the delivery truck driver. the big rig driver had minor injuries. we have you this information this noontime about a car crash into the backyard of a fremont home. the driver lost control on the first stretch of grimmer boulevard around 10:00 last night. police say the driver may have been racing. they are now investigating whether a second car was involved. it took 25 minutes for emergency crews to pull the 20 million-dollar driver to safety. he suffered critical injuries. this was not the first accident to happen at this curve. in fact, the homeowner says there have been eight crashes since he's lived there and he predicts this will not be the

and warm temperatures up above and away from the coastline. as far as right now on the maps, there you can pick out the coverage of some of the overcast. if you are heading to the beach, you want to bundle up with the temperatures now own -- only in the upper 50s, so overcast for pacifica, ocean beach and for the western half of golden gate park. as far as current temperatures, they are warming up. some 80s already inland. out toward fairfield, antioch, livermore. san jose currently checking in, 73. san francisco there's that 58 degrees. santa rosa up in sonoma county, reporting mostly sunny skies and 72. for today, coastal fog inland. a little bit cooler. this weekend, morning fog. no major heat for your weekend forecast for. high pressure has been strengthening. whenever you get this sinking air of high pressure that's sinking air. in the low to mid-90s.
