to restore independent police oversight. >> what is documented and videotaped you cannot take away. so this is the difference it has made in our community. >> you are welcome to be good witnesses. >> reporter: by phone tonight, vallejo's interim chief cautioned between volunteers interfering at crime scenes and he notes he is pushing to cameras in patrol cars. >> there are circumstances that those cameras have exonerated officers that would otherwise wanted to file false complaints against those officers. >> reporter: the family of 23-year-old mario ramirez, fatalitily shot by police two weeks ago. >> we're tired and we're standing up and going to expose all the corrupt police officers that are using excessive force, that are treating the community like crap. >> reporter: there are conflicting accounts

of whether ramiro's shooting was justified, but those at this meeting believe vallejo police lack credibility. debora villalon. ktvu channel 2 news blue angel fire crews are still working to figure out what caused an apartment fire in mountain view that injured three people. firefighters got the call before 5:30 at a small apartment complex. the two-alarm fire was put out within 20 minutes cording to the mountain view fire department. four units were michael moderately damages. >> palo alto fire crews also responded to that fire. we're following some developing news right now near the california-nevada border, two people are now dead and two others injured after' ski boat and power boat collided.

this collision happened just a short time ago. nevada county fire officials say the two boats ran into each other at in smartsville between yuba and nevada counties. two people were injured and have been transported to the hospital. we're continuing to gather details and we'll bring you any updates during this newscast. closer to home, police say a teenager from richmond was found shot to death in san francisco early this morning. the medical examiner identified the 18-year-old as lewis. they were called to ociola lane in the bayview district after 1:30 where lewises with found dead. investigators are not released information on a possible suspect. newark police say it could possibly take two weeks to determine the death of a couple in a movement yesterday. one of the body has been identified as a missing 17-year- old girl from pleasanton and the other is a 24-year-old man, possibly the girl's boyfriend. they were both shot and looking

into the possibility that it was a murder-suicide or double suicide. >> a motorcyclist is dead after a crash in saratoga. it happened this morning on highway 9 in saratoga avenue. the man was hospitalized in critical condition, but later died. no word tonight on his identity or what caused the crash. sadness and frustration where a pickup truck hit and killed an 8-year-old boy on his bike. matt keller talked to neighbors who want the city to take action in response to the boy's death. >> reporter: the farm drive neighborhood in san josi is filled with kids. today they are remembering their friend, 8-year-old matthew dihn. >> he was the funnest kid i know in this neighborhood. >> he wanted me go to his house yesterday, but i couldn't and then when i came back, i heard the news. and i was super sad because i didn't have him around.

>> reporter: police say matthew drove hesitate small electric pocket bike in front of a pickup truck at 7:45 last night he was not wearing' helmet. neighbors say the street was busy with many kids witnessing the accident. >> when i got out here, the ambulance had just gotten here. he was laying in the street and they were doing cpr and it was hard to watch. >> reporter: matthew was taken to the hospital, where he died. neighbors told me there have been several other incidentsipvolving kids over the past five years, but this is the first death. >> the family over there this morning kept saying turn around and talk to the kids that were there at the memorial saying hey, be careful when you are riding your bikes and be careful when you cross the streets. >> reporter: neighbors say some of the parents are considering going to city council to ask for street signs or speed bumps in the neighborhood of as for the family we're told that they are currently making funeral arrangements. reporting in san josi, matt keller ktvu

channel 2 news. >> the family of a 15-year-old boy who went missing more than a month ago is renewing their calls for help. he left his house telling his family he was going to emeryville. the teeth is described as 5'" weighing 150 pounds and his family describes him as a honor roll student. friends and family gather for their final farewells for 20-year-old brett olson was held the presbyterian church. he was last seen labor day weekend while tubing on the river with friends. firthe glenn county sheriff's office says it does appear he drowned. and in san josi a former presentation high school student was also laid to rest. 21-year-old jordan murphy- mahoney was killed when she was

hit by a suspected drunk driver in arizona last weekend. she was a student at northern arizona undulin flagstaff. the driver was arrested and charged with manslaughter. now to our continuing coverage of the growing antiamerican protests. today the state department ordered family members and nonemergency personnel to leave their posts at embassies in sudan and tunasia in the wake of violence erupted there and around world. demonstrateiacs have taken place in nearly 20 countries, some of them violent. state department says 65 embassies or consulates around the world have issued emergency messages about the violence. cristina mutchler now. >> reporter: following killings in libya, in australia, hundreds of protesters demonstrated outside of the american consulate in sydney. in the middle east, thousands of muslims have taken to the streets. fbi officials investigating the killings in

. thousands of bay area volunteers rolled up their sleeve as part of the statewide effort to clean up california's

beaches and waterways. as ktvu's alex savidge reports participants in this year's coastal clean-up were gennifer a special request following the 2011 tsunami in japan. >> reporter: with buckets in hand, people fanned out in san mateo, searching for trash, left behind in the bay. many of the hundreds were kids, including 10-year-old zach a cub scout from foster city. >> it's good for our community and keeps our beach cleans. >> reporter: someone pulled this suitcase out of water and found a scooter and even a snowboard. volunteers say it's really a shame what people end up throwing in the bay. >> it's sad how people don't care and litter our land like this. >> reporter: meanwhile at san francisco's ocean beach, more than a thousand environmental

environmental-conscious sifted through the sands. >> it's amazing this morning we walked out and thought, wow, there is nothing really to clean up on this beach and we got down on our knees and found you will aof this trash. >> reporter: coastal commission is also asking volunteer to be on the lookout for debris that washed ashore from last year's japanese tsunami. >> we want to track that data now and get a base line, so for future clean up events we que see whether or not tsunami debris is starting to arrive in bulk. >> reporter: organizers say the trash collected will be recycled and not end up anyway landfill. well, supporters of a san francisco recycling center gathered in golden gate park today. the non-profit haight-ashbury neighborhood council has leased land near kezar stadium since 1974. the city terminated that lease two years ago and this week the

city won a lawsuit overs issue and says the center must leave by october 1st. organizers are holing a human be-in to raise aways. to prevent the spread of west nile virus ground fogging is scheduled to get underway in less than an hour. the fogging comes after mosquitoes carrying the virus were found in the area. it's scheduled to start at 11:00 p.m.. it's been smooth sailing at san francisco international airport despite the closure of a runway. crews work to extend it and add lighting. this afternoon an airport spokesman told us that delays ranged from 15 minutes up to an hour mostly on short-haul west coast flights. clear weather also helped to keep the flights on-time. the suv air force says

training exercises will continue at travis air force base that include explosions, firearm simulations and amplified voice commands. the training started late last night and goes through next saturday. the base says it's opening its north gate until next friday to accommodate the increased traffic information a new law aimed at cracking down on the state bill it allows the state to suspend a store's tobacco license after three convictions in five years. after five convictions, the state can revoke a store's license. continuing coverage now on the progress of a san ramon girl who sent the last year fighting bone cancer. 10-year-old byeane breezy bochenek was treatedd to any makeover and they

choose the glamlook. after fighting cancer with chemotherapy and having her leg amputated dollars recently diagnosed breezy as cancer- free. that is great news. teachers and parents came together to clean up a menlo park school devastated about a fire earlier this week. volunteers arrived at beachwood school to clean classrooms, picnic tables and remove debris left from the fire. the fire destroyed a third grade classroom and heavily damaged administrative offices. students have been kept out of school for two days. >> our kids want to be here and they are devastated that they are missing school. so we want to be back to normal and have them back here. >> the school hopes to resume classes on monday. as for the fire, investigators believe it started in the school's kitchen and likely sparked by a damaged electrical wire. a police department makes a big donation and the local organization receiving the gift and what all of that money will

with temperatures warming up and even the fog clearing out over the shoreline. right now the fog regrouping offshore, but still we'll head into sunday with a nice forecast. on live stormtracker, clear skies inland, but there is that fog bank offshore. i have noticed over the past hour this has expanded in coverage right near the immediate shoreline and that trend will continue overnight. temperatures today from the lower 60s in pacifica and san francisco. lots of 70s around the bay and inland 90s, fairfield, antioch and livermore. the extended forecast, more good news. overnight lows first thing sunday morning tonightly want to we're talking about 40s in

santa rosa and napa. san josi 54 with the clouds a factor coast side and around the bay. high pressure has been responsible for the warm up the last few days with this system as a result not much of a change for sunday, but a little bit of a dropoff across most of the neighborhoods and more cooling into monday as we increase that onshore breeze. our forecast model shows you that the fog is regrouping between now and sunrise and the clouds coast side, even a few patches heading back into the bay. and then clearing back to near the shoreline. still partly cloudy skies for parts of coast into the afternoon hours. more sunshine inland, temperatures on track to reach the 80s. oakland 69 degrees and danville, right around 87. san josi a forecasted high of 76 and san francisco the clouds
