they will stay to the very end until they see some change as far as economic and social injustice. they are camped out here to get a jump start on their message. we spoke to one of the protesters who says she understands it seems the occupied movement has been quiet lately and protesting does not mean they have not been working on their goals. they say they have various communities with sustainable farming and improving the environment. occupy is and always has been a non-peaceful movement and our message is focused on the fact that we want people to know that we are a mass movement, we are here for the 99%. >> reporter: now again this is the one year anniversary, last year nationwide police

protesters are trying block sidewalks to make a point again this first anniversary of the occupied movement. amtrak is busy and they are investigating the disappearance of a retired firefighter. alex savage has more about what is going on and why his family is so worried, alex? >> i just spoke with his wife, he went missing during a train trip to month trial. they have -- montreal. they have set up a facebook page for charlie dowd. he planned on boarding a train to chicago. a conductor said he saw him and appeared disoriented. he suffers from restless leg syndrome and probably has not

. welcome back to the ktvu channel 2 morning news, in san jose there are new concerns about a homeless camp after several suspicious fires. all of the fires were minor but they are being investigated as arson and that has people in the area worried. i think that would make me feel safer but you still can't stop people from doing what they want to do. >> there have been several small fires since that homeless camp moved into the area. a new study finds kids are eating as much salt as adults. the center for disease says they are eating about 1,000 more than they should. it is no more than one tea

different directions and form a human wall around the new york stock exchange. some of the reactions from people in new york have been mixed. >> i think the messages got diluted. they just seem to be a rag tag bunch of people. >> now there have been protests and other rallies leading up to today's anniversary, right now protesters in new york are giving out a phone number for anybody who may need legal help after they get arrested. occupied events are right here in the bay area tara moriarty is on california street and they are camped out there and what they are planning on doing today. >> they will be bringing matches so they can ceremoniously bring debt which is related to their credit card, your car, your home and

rival gang, no word on his condition. and the school will reopen. ann rubin is at beachwood school to tell us how volunteers worked very hard to get things cleaned up. you can actually see, this is a building where it used to be. we just spoke to the principal david loren and while they had to do some reshuffling, they will have a place for students this morning. parents were out trying to salvage what they could like filing cabinets and $400,000 worth of damage. they are housing the third grade classroom and they believe the fire started from a pinched cord from an electric stove. they were not refired to -- required to have alarms and

number of groups are suspected of war crimes in syria. this is a first talking about a war that is out of control. they are joined at antigovernment groups while others are acting on their own. activists say 23,000 people have been killed in syria in the past 18 months. our time is now 6:37, the civic center bart station is reopen again this morning. it was closed for about an hour after reports of an explosion and smoke. they say there was some kind of explosion at 1:30, yesterday afternoon. they think it was a bank overload as well as the third rail short circuit and no injuries reported. and i'm sure you know, your plane probably was delayed,

coming up in about ten minutes, we will tell you about the main week where the delays happened again. and we have delays on the bay bridge and let's go to sal. at first this started as a stalled vehicle and apparently this crash looks like it is being moved and it looks like the bridge crash is being moved off and the lanes are open. this is encouraging news that the lanes are open so let's switch to a view of the toll plaza because they slowed the metering lights down a bit. even in a few minutes that they have opened these lanes, it looks likes we might see a little more movement. the last time we saw it, these cars were almost at a dead stop and now these are creeping along and the damage is done,

and we have at least a 30 minute delay at this time. it's good it didn't stay out there and the longer it stayed the worst it goes. hopefully within an hour it will be back to a normal hour but right now it is 30 minutes plus trying to get on to the bridge but if you are trying to get on, you might want to talk about taking part so at least you will be on time. let's look at westbound 580 and 680 there is a crash. watch for some slow traffic there. 640, let's go to steve. this is a cooler pattern and it could be a cool week as things continue and the disagreement comes in. higher clouds from yesterday, we start to see some clouds starting to move in and there is no sign of any real rain but

are asking fans for patience. a vigil was held last night in morgan hill, they are marking it since teenage sierra lemar disappeared. the family members and friends and volunteers released the balloons with messages for sierra lemar and her mother said facebook messages have helped their family cope during this difficult time. also the man accused of kidnapping sierra lemar goes back to court next week. he goes back in may but has not entered a plea, antolin garcia- torres could be sentenced to the death penalty if he is convicted. it was closed since friday night which included an extension and new lighting.

we have gusts up to 26 and now 60s and 70s and 80s may be gone by tomorrow. as this pattern changes low pressure will stay with us throughout the week and maybe into the weekend. the fog bank has lifted and if you do get the sun it's not very warm. 60s and 70s and by tuesday and wednesday this will disappear unless you are far away from the coast. san jose 75, sunny veil 74, menlo park palo alto woodside redwood city close with 70s and 50s on the coast. a cooler pattern is coming on wednesday and the cooler pattern will be taking us into the upcoming weekend. space shuttle endeavor has been delayed and it will fly over the bay area and we will tell you when you can see the

handwritten wills she said were made by kinkaid leaving her $6 million in assets. he was not of sound mind and body when he wrote those wills. they are decided to vote on whether to move out or pay rent. they are starting with the screening of a movie called bully it is for 13,000 and middle school students. all unified students will be required to watch the movie as well. they will be there despite a weather delay. because of poor weather it is leaving tomorrow. now on thursday, endeavor is scheduled to make some low flyovers in mountain view and some of san francisco landmarks. the shuttle will be displayed
