leading to the stock exchange and are not letting anyone through without an i.d. badge. protesters say they want to build a human chain around the explain. we'll keep following this for knew meanwhile, happening now, occupy protesters are camped out here in san francisco to mark the anniversary today. ktvu channel 2 reporter tara moriarty is there more with what protesters here in the bay area have planned. good morning, tara. >> reporter: good morning. occupiers will be burning debt papers and playing music and marching through the streets. a handful have decided to get a jump start this morning and camped outovernight and are devoting -- out overnight and are devoting the entire day here. the occupy protest has appeared to have died down with encampments but supporters have not stopped working. >> there's no longer any

redress through the system, so the only thing left for us to do is to come out and occupy the commons, get the message out to say to everyone occupy. we need to stand up for our rights and not sit back and not let the 1% dominate. >> reporter: we had national attention when police dismandelled an encampment in downtown oakland. this afternoon, there will be a street party and a march to justin herman plaza. various streets will be blocked off and there will be a rally at kerney and california. there is police presence up the street. but it's very quiet here and we don't expect people to really start gathering until 11:00 this morning. we're live in san francisco, i'm tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. a man accused of throwing bricks off a san francisco

rooftop during an occupy san francisco protest in may, he's due in court today for a preliminary hearing. [chanting] >> now, jessie nesbit is charged with five felony counts on charges he threw bricks and a metal pipe at protesters and the police. one of those bricks hit a protester in the face. the protester was not seriously hurt. in just about an hour from right -- from right now, students will be back in school after a big fire there this week. our reporter is live there now with what volunteers did to help clean up to get the school opened today. >> reporter: that's right. the final cleanup is underway right now. you can sea see there is an empty -- you can see there is an empty case where the students used to stand. now the third graders will have class in the computer lab and administrators have been tucked

into other buildings. the fire caused an estimated $400,000 worth of damage. investigators believe it started from a pinched cord near an electric stove. school officials realize it may have been traumatizing to students. so they plan to sit them down today to talk about what happened. >> we'll have an assembly at about 8:40 just to find of go through with the kids what the changes are and just to let them know that even though we've lost a lot, we still have each other and, you know, we're gonna be all right. >> reporter: you can see they are doing just the last of the cleanup work before the students arrive and school officials tell us that though there were construction projects planned for this coming summer anyway, that this fire has emphasized the need to move up the timetable on those projects. back to you.

well, chicago public school kids will not be back in school this morning. striking teachers are starting a second week on their picket line. coming up in 12 minutes, what chicago's mayor is doing to end the strike. 7:05. the woman charged with killing michelle le is due back in court. today marks one year since her body was found in a remote area between pleasanton and sunol. prosecutors say the defendant attacked her last may at the kaiser parking garage in hayward, then dumped her bed. the two girls went to high school together in san francisco. prosecutors say esco bon blamed -- estobon blamed le for ruining her relationship with her daughter's father.

the class of 55 police recruits came from a pool of more than 2300 people who took a written test in march. 7:06. continuing concern this morning about san jose's rising crime rate. city leaders will be holding two meetings tomorrow, giving an update on how police plan to crack down on the crime problem. so far, san jose has investigated 33 homicides this year. those leaders want to know if city policy may help -- may somehow be to blame. the police union will be holding a meeting at the ymca at 6:30 tomorrow night and then a half-hour later, the city council will be holding a meeting about gang activity and the police response to it. well, the city of san francisco could be taking a major step when it comes to clean energy. the board of supervisors is set to consider legislation tomorrow that would put 19.000000 toward the clean power sf program. now, it's designed to help

secure a contract with shell energy that would provide renewable power for a premium. if approved, san francisco will become the second city in the state to create this kind of program. marin county already contracts with shell to provide renewable energy. 7:07. repairs to the hyde street cable car line in san francisco will have an impact on this morning's commute. muni said it had to shut down the line shortly after 6:00 last night. three buses are providing service while the line is down. we put calls into muni this morning to get an update on the closure, and once we hear back we will let you know when the cable line will be back open. we have major traffic problems. sal has more. >> you just spoke about muni. that line is back up. >> oh, good. >> it looks like the e-mail came in just now. i opened it up.

so the line is up now. the hyde street cable car line is up again. all right. let's move along. dave mentioned the macarthur maze. this morning, pipe going to the bay bridge need to give themself extra time. there was an earlier crash on the bridge. it wasn't a major deal but it blocked lanes for a bit. it caused a big backup. i don't want to scare you or anything. let's just put it in perspective. if it normally takes you 20 to 30 minutes to do all of this, it will take you about an hour. so almost double. it is improving. it's not something that is gonna ruin your day. it will get you out of the house a half our early. or if you can take b.a.r.t. because it's very slow at the bay bridge. the westbound bay bridge could be an alternate. and this morning's commute on the south bay, that's actually a little better than i thought it would be. nice surprise. northbound 101, a little slow

at 880. 7:09. let's go to steve. all right. a gray morning. too much fog. it looks like it will be that much of a -- that kind of a pattern. fog has been kind of held in check. but that's not the case now. high pressure has moved out. helped along by an area of low pressure to the west. this is for inland areas. the coast really can't cool off yet. the 60 is -- the city is 60. 55, 57, 60 for a high today. 55 right now. the cooler pattern today is mainly for away from the coast. the fog is getting helped along. there is a big fog bank out there for september. usually we can start to get the north-northeast wind. there's nothing in the cards for that right now. if anything, it will be 4 to 8 degrees cooler. you are getting upper 40s. san rafael, fairfield, napa 51. there is a lot of mid-50s and

it is an issue to end bullying and also hopes to transform society. all san francisco unified school students will be able to watch this movie as well. >> newark police say it could take weeks to cause the death of a man and a girl in a hotel room. a housekeeper discovered the bodies on friday. investigators say the victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds but they -- but they are waiting for lab results. one of the bodies has been identified as a 17-year-old girl from pleasanton reported missing the week before. a vigil was held in morgan hill to mark the fact that it's been six months since sierra lamar disappeared. >> the family members, friends, volunteers, they all released balloons with messages for sierra lamar. her parents say it's been very

difficult accepting the significance of that date. >> i would have hoped we would have found her and she's safe and life would be normal right now. >> she disappeared march 16th while walking to school. people are still getting together every saturday to look for her. the man, antolin garcia-torres, accused of kidnap her and killing her -- of kidnapping and killing her will be in court next week. investigators think he killed her but her body has not been found yet. the south san francisco father accused of kidnapping her young children and taking them on a yoelen -- stolen yacht is due back in court. he's scheduled for a plea hearing in a san mateo county court. he's accused of kidnapping his 2-year-old and 3-year-old children, stealing a yacht and sailing south for three days. they were found near monterey. he said he kidnapped the children because they were

being abused. the children's mother denies the claim. 7:32. as we were telling you, amtrak police are looking trying to solve a mysterious disappearance of a san francisco firefighter who got on a train. they don't know where he is. alex savidge, you are in emeryville. why is the man's family so worried this morning? >> reporter: well, his wife told me this morning she's worried because the meds he takes tend to make him a bit confused. this retired san francisco firefighter boarded an amfrack train here at the emery -- amtrak train here at the emeryville station was not on the train when if arrived here. his luggage and cell phone were in the sleeper car. the family has set up the facebook page for him. he's 69 years old. he was taking the train to mon tree yu. that was miss final destination. he was going there to visit his ston and grandchildren.

he said his family -- [audio not understandable] >> we're still having a technical problem with alex savidge. we'll get back to the report. tori. it's day two of the nhl lockout. it looks like the san jose sharks will not start their new season as scheduled. it's not just bad news for fans, though. allie rasmus is live in san jose to show us how the labor dispute is hurting the local community. allie? >> reporter: well, it could be bad news for the businesses, especially the businesses near the's rena. this coffee shop, you can tell the owner of is a sharks' fan by the sign in the window. she was disappointed by the reality of the lockout and the possibility of no shark games at the pavilion just a block from her shop. her coffee has a lot of regular customers but she says she does

get a boost in business during hockey season, especially on game day. >> i was excited it was gonna get a little bit busy and since all of the locals come out and they are -- they e all in a good mood that their team is playing and made it to the finals. there's definitely a different atmosphere. >> reporter: the san jose sharks are supposed to play their first preseason game on september 26th, just next week. now it is looking like that and the entire season may be in jeopardy because of the lockout. team owners say players should have less of a share than the last contract. the players say they are willing to take a little less but not as much of a cut as owners want. and the team's concerned about irritating their fans. the team made a youtube explaining their side to the fans and the team owners put out statement asking fans for patience during the lockout.

allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. one of the main runways at san francisco international airport is due to reopen in a few minutes, at 8:00 this morning. it's been closed since friday night for safety upgrades that include an extension and also some new lighting out there. there were flight delays because the closure cut down the number of hourly arrivals in half. no runway will be closed again, by the way, this coming weekend and the next weekend after that. we just learned of a recent schedule change for the pg&e pipeline replacement project on the foothill expressway in palo alto. starting today, pg&e says work will take place weekdays from 9:00 in the morning from 4:00 in the afternoon along the pipeline under sara between pageville road near stanford. this will affect computers going northbound on the

foothill expressway and drivers you can expect a backup south over the weeks ahead. the nighttime work was upsetting some of the stanford residents. speaking of traffic. >> let's check in with sal, see where the problems are this morning? >> reporter: will, we do have westbound 24 as you drive up to the tunnel. we've been watching contra costa county. no major problems here. it's crowded in la fayette. the big crowd is at the bay bridge toll plaza. i want to show you that because it's backed out beyond the mack father kerr maze and the -- backed up beyond the macarthur maze and the metering lights are backed up. the traffic is moving along relatively well once you get onto the upper deck of the bay bridge. this morning's commute is okay on northbound 101 in san jose. a little slow at 880. 280 is getting slow at 17. let's go to steve. >> all right, sal. thank you. well, there is a lot of fog out there. i mean, a lot of fog. it goes well up and down the

7:51. a pedestrian badly hurt in napa in a hit-and-run crash is being treated at a hospital nowp it happened about 1 -- now. it happened around 1:00 in morning on state highway 128. the pedestrian was rushed to john muir medical center in walnut creek, suffering major injuries. the chp continues to investigate. also in overnight news, police in gilroy investigating a possible gang-related shooting. it happened about midnight on westwood drive. the young victim was sitting in a car when he was shot in the head during an apparent dispute with a lival gang. we don't know his condition and it is still not clear what led up to the shooting. a teenager will face a judge today on charges he

planned to bomb a chicago bar. 18-year-old adele diad allegedly tried to blow up a jeep outside a bar on friday night. he thought the jeep had a bomb inside but it was a dud created by a federal agent acting as an extremist. the man a u.s. citizen from a chicago suburb. prosecutors say he wanted to carry out a violent gee nude a special tribute was -- violent jihad. a special tribute was held yesterday in reno for the victims last year. >> it was magical. it was great. we made some lifelong bonds. >> they have a redesigned race course that adds a 150-foot buffer. and neil armstrong was honored at the race yesterday. another problem patio semty

i'm dave clark. it is monday, september 17th. a lot halving this morning. we are -- happening this morning. we're getting reports out of new york that the occupy wall street effort that's been going on all morning in new york is losing some steam. this is the latest video we're looking at. still a lot of activity going on from earlier this morning. police faced off with a lot of demonstrators. dozens of people were arrested. they tried to block the sidewalks and the intersections near wall street. the protesters were trying to form a humane train around -- humane chain around the new york stock exchanges. police emergencied -- managed to keep those groups back. happening here, occupy protesters in san francisco are getting ready hold their own protest in today today. tara moriarty is there now with more on what any are planning to do over there. >> reporter: well, they said they are going to continue this fight for social and economic

justice. behind me, they have some tents set up and some people have been here overnight. it's not a very large group as you can see. but they are gonna stay here at bankers heart square until about 5:00 in order to get a jump-start on their message. we spoke to one protesters who said she understands and it seems like the movement has been quiet, just because people have not been pitching tents doesn't mean that he haven't been working on their goals. they say they have groups set up to tackle issues to tackle -- issues set up to tackle bank foreclosures -- >> this is a lifetime commitment. >> reporter: now, again, this is the one-year anniversary of the occupy movement. last year uprising sprang up

nationwide. the one in the bay area received national attention when police dismantled an encampment in downtown oakland. we're expecting a demonstration at the war memorial. there's also an event in the castro, it will be against foreclosures. at 3:00 there will be a march. they will be sitting in at banks, they say, and also at harvey milk plaza. a march is set for tonight at 5:00 off california and kerney and occupiers will be bringing their matches and will be symbolically burning their debt, every debt they have, their credit card, school, that sort of thing. we'll be sure to follow this story throughout the morning and later on through the afternoon and let you know how things progress. 8:01. right now, classes are resuming at a menlo park school that was damaged in the fire last week. ann ruben is at beechwood

school to tell us what is planned for the student's first day back. >> reporter: well, good morning. the campus has been cleaned. the students are back here ready for school. they will try to conduct a normal school day. they do plan to talk about what happened. last week an electrical fire did about $300,000 worst -- worth of damage. though the school is covered, not everybody will be covered. so they are accepting demonstrations. >> i think it will feel a little beard because i'm used to in a certain classroom there are a few -- classroom. >> there are a few personal items that cannot be replaced. there's also all of the things

that were created that -- that are gonna take a lot of time to rebuild but we'll get there. >> reporter: still, the school says they do need some help. they have posted a list of the items they are hoping someone will denate. ann ruben, ktvu channel 2 news. despite optimism over the weekend that an agreement would be reached, the chicago students will not be back at school. coming up in 15 minutes, what chicago's mayor is doing to try to force teachers there back to the classroom. 8:03. the woman charged with killing nursing student michelle le is due back in court this morning. one year ago today, michelle le's body was found in a remote part between pleasanton and sunol. prosecutors say gisele estebon attacked le last may in the kaiser parking garage in hayward and then dumped her body. estoe bon and michelle le went

to school -- estebon and michelle le went to high school together. prosecutors say estebon blamedley foreigning her relationship with her daughter's father. -- game le for ruining her relationship with her daughter's father. coming up on 8:04. san jose used to be known as one of the safest cities in the u.s. but now a rising crime rate has many people concerned. that's why city leaders are holding two meetings tomorrow to give an update on how police plan to crack down on the problem. so far the city has investigated 33 homicides this year. leaders want to know if city policy may be to blame. the city union will hold a crime prevention meeting at the east san jose ymca at 6:30

tomorrow night and just a half- hour later, the city council is scheduled to holt a -- hold a meeting about gang activity and police response time. san francisco could be taking a major step when it comes to clean energy. the board of supervisors is set to consider legislation tomorrow that would put -- that would put $19.5 million toward the clean power sf program. it's designed to help secure a contract with shell energy that would provide renewable power for a premium. if approved, san francisco would become the second in a state to create this type of problem. marin county all right contracts with shell to provide renewable energy. new this morning, the hyde street cable car rumming in san francisco is running again this morning in time for the commute. muni shut it down last night to make needed repairs. we just checked with muni and they said the repairs are complete. a man accused of throwing bricks off a san francisco

rooftop he's due in court today for a preliminary hearing. jessie nesbit is charged with five felony counts on charges he threw bricks and a mettlal -- and a metal pipe at protesters. one of the bricks hit a protester in the face. he was not seriously hurt. amtrak authorities are searching for a retired firefighter. 69-year-old charles doud boarded the plane in emeryville last week and disappeared somewhere between denver and chicago. amtrak officials found his cell phone and medication and luggage on the train but he was not on the drown. the train conductor saw him last in omaha saying he seemed disoriented and confused. coming up in our next half- hour, we'll hear from his wife in a live report.

yao to go -- for you to go. as we move the maps i want to check out contra costa county. highway 4 very slow. in is a big fog bank for -- let's go to steve. >> this is a big fog bank for september. much of the coast won't have much better than 60-degree temperatures it looks like for the bulk of the week. the area of low pressure is actually starting to move closer. that's bumping the high out of the pressure. this cooling trend is for those away from the coast which some locations have been very warm. 80s and 90s but it looks like everyone is in for the party. the city is like what are you talking about? we've been here for a long time. that's not changing. 60 the high yesterday. going with that again today. it will be cooler but these are for inland areas. it may last in the upcoming

ambassador, chris stevens and three other staffers were killed in libya. china will be the focus when president obama makes a campaign stop in ohio today. ktvu's alison burns is live in our washington, d.c. newsroom to tell us why the president is complaining about china to the world trade organization. alison? >> reporter: tori, since primary season, mitt romney has said that president obama has not been tough enough on china. well, today, during campaign stops in ohio, the president will announce he's filing a complaint with the world trade organization against chine new. the president alleges china has illegally subsidized auto parts for exports. the president will say the president gives china an up fair advantage and undermines states like ohio. this comes as mitt romney launches an ad campaign that says the president has fail the american workers by not taking

islands in the east china sea. the protesters say japan is trying to take what belongs to china. now the u.s. secretary of defense is talking about it. >> it is in everybody's interest for japan and china to maintain good relations and to find a way to avoid further escalation. now, protests at the japanese embassy in beijing forced the chinese paramilitary to surroundle building. china has sent military ships to patrol the waters around the islands that are at the heart of these demonstrations. the islands are claimed by both china and japan. back here at home, in san jose, new concerns this morning about a homeless camp after several suspicious fires. now on saturday, there were at least three small fires in kelley park right along coyote creek. all of them were minor but they are being investigated as possible arson. that has some people living in

the area worried. >> the fires because the brush here is very close to where i live. it's concerning because i have a young child. so the fires have been a concern for me. >> there have been several small fires in kelley park in the past several month since the homeless camp morned into the area. the ma partnership county transit district will hold a public hearing whether to approve a new agreement with golden gate transit for bus service. the current contract expires at the end of next year. the district is considering a plan to look for a less expensive operator for a bus service. 128 golden gate transit drivers could lose their jobs if a new contract is not approved. well, there's still a couple of weeks left on the regular season but the oakland as fans are already dreaming of the playoffs, starting at 10:00 a.m. this morning, individual tickets for a potential wild card game and potential

minutes. well, myanmar's leader is headed to san francisco. it's all part of a 17-day u.s. tour. it begins today in washington, d.c. that's where she'll be honored and presented with a congressional medal of honor for her dramatic journey from being a political prisoner to being a stateswoman. she will be touring communities in los angeles and touring communities where she once lived in the late 1960s. rahm emanuel is seeking a court order to force striking testers back to the classroom. the move -- teachers backs to classroom. delegates for the teachers' union voted to extend the strike over the weekend after reviewing the terms of the proposed settlement with the district. a new study finds that children are eating as much salt as adults. the cdc cdc says kids are

it's finally improving after a bad morning. we had an accident on the bridge. it was there for about 20 minutes in the:00 hour. and it re-- 6:00 hour. and it really caused a big backup. it's extending onto 580. got word of a hit and run accident in berkeley. you can see at the top the screen, you can see how terrible it is. it's near gilman street. the chp is there and the traffic is just terrible coming down do the berkeley and emeryville area on 80. just another -- down to the berkeley and emeryville area. just another slowdown. and train service has been stopped because of a train that came upon a body. now, it's unclear if the train hit the person or if then was already deceased when if approached. the train was due to arrive in sacramento just after 7:0. they are doing an -- 7:30.

good morning. we have breaking news in the benicia area as our newschopper2 has been looking along these tracks. amtrak told us the train had stopped in benicia this morning at about 6:25 when this came upon a body. it's unclear because they have -- they didn't give us very much information, whether the train actually hit this person or if the body was there before the train moved up. now, we've been looking for the train. apparently the train has been allowed to leave but there are investigators on the tracks here in benicia because of this body that was found. we believe -- we're not showing it to you. we believe we've seen the body there on the tracks. we'll let you know if this will continue to affect the amtrak corridor service between the bay area and sacramento. this certainly did delay a train. this was supposed to arrive in

sacramento at 7:00 or so. we'll let you know more coming up. amtrak police have did -- are investigating -- amtrak police are investigating the mysterious disappearance of a retired san francisco firefighter. alex savidge has more on this. >> reporter: well, this retired san francisco firefighter boarded an amtrak train last wednesday planning to change trains in san francisco. amtrak officials found his luggage and his cell phone in his sleeper car. the family has now set up a facebook page for 69-year-old chardy doud of -- charlie doud. his family said he spent six years as a firefighter before getting hurt on the job. he was taking the train by himself to montreal. the last time anyone saw him was in omaha ned. his wife said he takes

medication for restless syndrome. she's certain he's in trouble. >> she's in danger. he's definitely in danger. he did indicate to my daughter that afternoon that he hadn't slept. and he -- he has medical issues. he's diabetic. he has heart issues. >> reporter: relatives say the medication he takes tends to make him confused. his wife thinks he stepped off the train for a cigarette and didn't make it back on board. this morning, several relatives of his are in omaha passing out fliers and amtrak police are working with local police departments trying to figure out where this missing man from senate is -- from san mateo is. police in newark say it may

take weeks to know what caused the deaths of a teenaged girl and a man found in a motel room. a hoe who -- a housekeeper found the victims friday. the victims had been shot investigator times. but authorities are waiting for -- several times. but authorities are waiting to see the lab results. one of the individuals is a 17- year-old girl from pleasanton who was reported missing a week before. today is six months since sierra lamar disappeared. >> family, friends and volunteers released balloons with messages for sierra. her parents say it was difficult to accept the significance of the date. >> i would have hoped we would have found her and she would be home with us and life would be normal right now. >> sierra lamar disappeared on march 16th while walking to school and people still gather to search for her every

saturday. meanwhile, the man accused of kidnapping and murdering her will return to court last week. antolin garcia-torres was arrested in may but has not yet entered a plea. police think he was murdered even though her body was not been found. he could be sentenced to the death penalty if convicted. 8:33. the south san francisco father accused of kidnapping -- kidnapping his children and stealing a yacht is due back in court. he's accused ofkeying his two small children, stealing a yacht and then sailing south for three -- south for three days. they were found near monterey. he said he kidnapped the children because they were being abu becaused. the mother of the children -- abused. the mother of the children mys that claim. the oakland school district will screen the movie "bully." the screening today is the

first in the series of mandatory viewings for all 13,000 students. the school is working with the project to end bullying and hopefully transform society. all san francisco unified school district students will be required to watch the movie as well. a recent schedule change for the pg&e pipe replacement in palo alto could affect your commute. starting today, pg&e says work will take place weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. below the pipeline on east campus drive and page mill road. this will great impact commuters traveling northbound on the expressway. people can expect backup south of page mill road over the weeks ahead. and the night work was disturbing stanford residents. the battle is set to

continue over the estate of thomas kincaid. his girlfriend has prefused to move out of the -- refused to move out of the santa clara home. she's produced two handwritten wills by kincaid that leaves her about $66 million in assets plus the house. lawyers for kincaid's esstrangleed wife say was not of sound mind and body when he wrote the wills. a judge is expected to rule today whether the girlfriend should move out or start paying rent. the nhl locked out of its players and that's tough news for san jose shark fans and the businesses that lelie on them -- that rely on them. allie rasmus is live to describe tom of -- some of that economic pain. >> reporter: a lot of those businesses are on the alamedo. there is a sign on the coffee shop that says "this is sharks' territory." the owner of the shop was disappointed when she told her about the lockout that's now in

the players association says they are willing to take a little less but not as much of a you can as team owners pant. it appears both sides are concerned about irritating their fans with this lockout. this weekend, some of the hockey players put out a video on youtube, explaining their reasons for the lockout in that and the team owners have put out concerns about the lockout and asking the fans to be patient. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 news. one of the main runways at sfo is back open this morning. it was closed all weekend for safety upgrades including an extension as well as some new lighting out there. there were flight deplays over the weekend because the runway closure cut the hourly arrivals in half. the runway will be closed again this weekend and the -- and the following weekend after that, tori. of course, there's still delays at sfo this morning

because of the fog and the low clouds. let's check in with sal for an yu kate update on the commute. let's go to the main problem we've had, the east shore freeway and the bay bridge have been terrible. a series of crashes this morning. if you are trying to get somewhere on time in the city, please give yourself extra time. the east shore had a crash at gilman. there was a hit-and-run accident and then at the bay bridge taupe, we've a big backup going on for hours now after an earlier crash. when you get to the city, south of market there is a big convention at the moscone center that's blocked howard between 3rd and 4th. it will be there all week. it means bigger than usual traffic jams in san francisco south of market. i want to update you on the capital corridor, this is a train now moving through the area so trains apparently are moving again. but pat 6:25 this morning, a train had to stop because of a body was found on the tracks in

benicia. these trains are moving again but there are delays because of this investigation that has been delaying the trains. this is clearly a look at the capital corey der and they are moving again. if -- corridor and they are loo on the sacramento train, they are late and possibly the others are as well. sun for some, it's kind of gloomy for others especially around the coast and the bay. some of that fog inland beginning to burn poof. the pattern has been -- burn off. the pattern has been set for away from the coast. 50s and 60s for high temperatures. this will be a cooler pattern for inland areas as we bump that high out of here. the low-pressure system will be off the coast. it's going to play into our weather for the entire week. so the coolern pattern is for those inland not so much for those on the coast. we'll go 60 for san francisco

new this morning, former penn state coach jerry sandusky is scheduled to be sentenced next month on child abuse charges. his sentencing is set for october 9th. now, sandusky was convicted in june of 45 counts of sexual abuse involving ten days. he's expected to spend the rest of his life in prison. 8:56. a pedestrian badly injured in napa in a hit-and-run crash overnight is being treated at a hospital now. the accident happened around 1:00 a.m. on state highway 128. the pedestrian was rushed to john muir medical center in walnut creek with major injuries. and the chp is investigating the accident. another problem at yosemite national park. the fresno bee reports a
